Thanks a bunch. So, that means I can just update the personal business profile on LinkedIn with my current place of work? I hope it won't be a clash of two jobs at the same time.

I will answer indirectly. Have your profile show your link to the job you intend to claim points with.
On a lighter note, two wives at the same time may be burglary but two jobs, I believe you can explain yourself.

Nobody wants to answer my question abt the nysc experience. Lemmi repeat again, pls pple with nysc work experience with government school that of cause dint pay them during nysc service should pls help. Did you state it on reference letter given to you by the government institute that u where been paid by nysc for working at the government secondary school or u omitted that part..

Nysc experience gurus make una help ooooooooooooooooo I beg I've been asking this question for long now abeg how una do am make I nor go gog. Who de ask nor de miss road

How did u state ur in ur reference letter that u where bn paid nysc money instead of the school u taught. Is it acceptable by ircc standard

State the pay (allowance) from the government. You don't have to say "NYSC paid me 15000 naira per month". There are a thousand ways to have that drafted into the letter without saying, "We at Ore Grammar School did not pay him directly."
You can be resuming at company A daily, and yet have Company B as your employer who pays you your wages.

You can even suggest bullet points to the school

Fellow brethren, please I own my own firm for sometime now, but I also work for another firm. It is for this other firm that I am claiming my 3 years experience. However, my LinkedIn, Facebook majorly reflect my personal business. So, the question is, do I have to update my LinkedIn, etc with this other firm or leave my online presence like that. Needed urgently please!!

You are asking if you should include on your LinkedIn profile, the job which you will be using to claim points?
Yes in 5 different languages

Your own business MUST be accounted for in your personal history when you apply.

Good morning,

Please I would like to find out if I worked in a family business in the past, do I need to submit a letter of explanation, payment receipts/payslips to support my claim. I have letter of employment and I can only find evidence of two payments in my bank statement showing my salary in my last two months at the business.

You can submit your reference letter with all the required details. If you wish, indicate in an LOE that it was a family business, I don't believe you must do this. Also, add the last two months bank statements and the payslips that you have.

ADVICE URGENTLY NEEDED!!!

Please my seniors in the house, kindly advice me. I am the principal applicant and we are considering applying with the 'spouse not accompanying' option. We are aware that this doesn't change the required POF for our family size, but just that my CRS is higher if my spouse is not accompanying (476) as opposed to 465 if he is accompanying (his ielts was a bit low).

We just need advice about the pros and cons of following this option. I clock 31 in December and will be loosing 5 points if I don't get ITA before then.

Kindly advice please. Thanks

You'd lose 6 points when you turn 31 not 5, and by then, your 465 would be...well you do the calculation.
He needs to take the test again.

Hello guys, QQ:

If the reference letter provided by the bank includes:

- account number
- date account was opened
- current balance of account
- average balance for the past 6 months
- no debts and funds are readily available to me.

If there a need to attach a 6 months bank statement?

@Ednut1

No, it was never stated that this was a necessity. However, most people include statements. If you want to, go ahead and include the statement, especially if it makes you sleep better at night. A few stories on here involve ADRs for statements but I have never come across a refusal based solely on an omission of statements (something that wasn't asked for in the first place).

Thanks a lot for this insight. Got to brace myself for next ITA and prepare to AOR before IELTS expires.

To be clear, the IELTS date to be taken into consideration is the date result was released and not the date it was taken right?

The date written on the TRF

I see people are 'stimulating' their CRS scores. Everyone yet to create an account should make sure they do this. cheesy Those in the pool can also do same to better their chances of an ITA. cheesy

Is a UK police certificate issued in 2017 still valid to be used for PR if the applicant has not entered the UK since then. Or a new one has to be issued?

It is very valid.

Current balance. It doesn't really matter--when it is transferred to you I mean.

Hello, I am awaiting ITA but am confused on POF...must the fund be in my account for 6month.

This has been answered many times, in the last few pages too. If you are getting a gift from say, a parent, just before you submit, you can include documentation to back that up. A gift deed, letter, bank statement showing transfer etc. The money does not have to stay 6 months in your account.

However, your Bank reference letter should still cover the IRCC requirements. You may have to include your statements covering the six months before you apply.

Am 30
Bsc holder
Married....

Is it possible to use my wife profile but she doesn't have work experience yet as she's currently serving.....

I'd advise you to spend some more time reading through the thread.
You can increase your points by getting another qualification or taking another language test -- CIMA, BCS, PGD, MSC, MBA, TEF etc.

Also, you can get your wife's qualification assessed. She can also do the IELTS test.

One needs at least a year's work experience for this process. Note this and prepare if your wife is to be the primary applicant

Please get your RSEA to claim experience point. You can still lodge EOI but if you intend to claim experience points, get that assessed by EA.

Not when third party evidence can't be provided eh. If EA don't accept bank statements, and one has no payslips or pension contributions or tax certificates to cover significant periods of work then why bother?
Travel / Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by rume(m): 11:16am On Oct 30, 2019

For EA, no.
Bank statement works for TRA

If one already has a qualification assessment from EA without experience as professional engineer, can one still claim work experience points when submitting an EOI later?

That's because state nomination gives you 5 points for nominating you, and that's the state you will land and stay for 2yrs if offered the visa 190.

Aha, thanks.

You can claim same 10 points if your partner occupation is on the same list and is assessed with competent English. But if no assessment but your partner possesses competent English alone, you can claim 5 points for that.

So, it is still the same 10 points as single individuals.

I was asking about the discrepancy in points for 189 and 190 for single individuals based on what you wrote. You mentioned a possible increase in points to 75 points with 190 and 70 points with 189 in your previous statement.

You wrote:
However, if you are single, then that's a huge plus too as you will get 70 points for 189 and 75 for 190 but with the help of superior English scores.

It still depends on your marital status, age and English scores . Are you married? If your partner occupation is on the same list, she can assess her occupation and claim partner points.

However, if you are single, then that's a huge plus too as you will get 70 points for 189 and 75 for 190 but with the help of superior English scores.

With 75 points, it will only be a matter of the long wait of 7 to 8 months to get ITA. It might even come quicker than you expect. Get things done and join the queue and waiit patiently.

Why the difference in points for being unmarried under 189 and 190? Isn't it the same 10 points added to both?
Travel / Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by rume(m): 11:11pm On Oct 18, 2019

I don't think Mechanical Engineering occupation is that competitive. Check if you are eligible for 190. Secure your superior English scores. Apply and remain patient for your ITA. You will surely get ITA. But it may take up to 7 to 8 months, depending on the number of applicants that are applying for that occupation.

There are options with 190 for Mechanical Engineers and Biomedical Engineers indeed. I did check. No such opening for 489 though (Mech Eng). Even though 489 will be replaced by 491, I suspect the same thing/similar thing when launched.
I do wonder how competitive these occupation groups are under 189 (because of your statement).
Anyhow, ...long way to go, one step at a time.
Travel / Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by rume(m): 10:10am On Oct 18, 2019
bligs:

With the present situation, for you to come any close to 189 ITA in Engineering related occupation you will need nothing less than 80/85points.

Haha, no chance then.
I suppose in this situation, one may try 190, though I suspect the same competitive issue would arise.
Travel / Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by rume(m): 11:30pm On Oct 17, 2019
Assuming the following points were in the bag:
Age. 30 points
Education. 15 points
English. 20 points

Totalling 65 pts

What do you think one's ITA chances are with 189 if nominated occupation is Mechanical Engineer or Biomedical Engineer.

I wonder if the points total is competitive enough.
