BarryX: Nigeria is Big enough for my country of residence , I likened the question to asking me where do you prefer staying in Lagos? whether am staying in the Osborne estate Ikoyi or "Makoko estate" does not really matter since am still in f**kin Lagos . In other words, be it Lagos, sokoto, Ekiti, Warri, let me have the opportunity of residing anywhere in Nigeria without the residency or ethnicity dichotomy! This Location ish is grossly overrated especially in Nigeria. Kapish Capisce... leading to capisco |

If you want to obey laws, just have a good read of Leviticus and Numbers, and while you are at it, make a note of your shortcomings in comparison to these two books of scripture. 1 Like |

Culture / Re: How Often Do You Speak Your Native Language At Home? by rume(m): 2:36am On Jan 15, 2013 |
Answering question: With regard to speaking, almost never, or actually, never. English is my first language and I also frequently refer to it as my "native language". I know many Nigerians would throw stones at me because of this. My siblings do that all the time. #bringontheridicule Though I was never really in the habit of speaking any native Nigerian language, I seem to lose more knowledge of Nigerian languages daily. Hah, I don't even speak pidgin. Nonetheless, I always argued that it was/is a language! Quite a few Nigerians I've come across seem to disagree I usually only go as far as greeting my dad, mum, uncles and aunts in native Nigerian languages. All my siblings speak pidgin when chatting amongst themselves. ...but they usually revert to English when they talk to me. That said, I (occasionally?) listen to and sing songs in different languages. I don't can gradually become I can't depending on your surrounding, situation etc. |

lonamy: U see all these benin pastors get as dem be. There messages have deep roots to their origin. Though they have polished the way they talk to make them more acceptable, but their fruit is gradually revealing who they are. Gradually everybody will find their way out. Ohooo, this is now a regional and tribal thing as well. Benin Pastors "get as dem be". Well, I'm glad you are realising "who they are". Keep realising who they are, who you are (get as you be) and finally who God is. |
Politics / Re: No Going Back On Criminalizing Same-Sex Marriage In Nigeria – David Mark by rume(m): 8:19am On Jan 09, 2013 |
MAYOWAAK: My scepticism about homosexuality is based on two reasons. One, as a Christian, I have taken time to study my Bible and I know that homosexuality is NOT of God. All references to legitimate relationships and marriages in the Bible are anchored on man and woman. God created Adam and Eve.” So for us who believe in the Bible, homosexuality is NOT ordained by God, even though some gays and rights activists often labour very hard to insert their own interpretations into the scriptures. Homosexuality is not countenanced in the Bible at all; if anything, it is condemned from Genesis to Revelation. The second basis for my scepticism is that I believe homosexuality is not natural. Copulation in the animal world is based on opposites and diversity. Our sex organs are different and complementary by design. I'm pretty sure that dogs of the same sex engage in such activities. So, I wouldn't bank on not seeing it and putting my acceptance of it on something like that. However, how does someone define "natural"? Natural by nature or natural by nurture? I'm pretty certain the act involves choice but that may not be the full picture. That said, I definitely don't see any sense in the "I was born this way" flawed science that keeps projecting itself from buses, posters and postings everywhere online and on the streets of UK. Finally, people on here (nairaland) obviously have a mental hierarchy of sins that has made them swallow up this proposed legislation and suspend temporarily, their minds from other issues. |

The science/art of perception and reality There is no one definitive set of traits to separate one from the other. There are changes that happen as one grows up - a crossover. There are middle grounds between both extremes, and no two ajebota's will be same. Omo ridicules Bola for being less sophisticated... Bola ridicules Uche for not being street smart and resilient enough Bola's dad thinks his son is not street smart and resilient enough Omo's aunts and uncles ridicule him for being an "aje" Omo's classmates think he is the outcast of the class because he isn't sophisticated enough to be an "aje" Omo's neighbour Ade, looks forward to being as sophisticated as Omo 1 Like |

This almost seems like an unnecessary law that just promotes some kind of persecution. Was the practise of homosexuality not already illegal (whether public or private)? Is this law with its 14 years sentence thingy for practising homosexuality or is it for same-sex marriage? How can you imprison someone for same-sex marriage if it never really existed by law? hhmmmmm... |

bayulll01: Yes, I don't even have a tv. Nonetheless, the post is still wrong, the comment was made even before the heats for the women's 4x400m took place, so I maintain my position. 4x100m and 4x400m are two different things! |

mstutu: i prefer disqualification to second to last.i dont know but disqualification sounds more respectful n dignified .in fact any time we are set for last or second to last, our ahtletes should nugde one other athlete out of the track so we can get gisqualified.Last is better in terms of honours for the athletes. It would have been 7th place, not second to last. No shame in that. |

afam4eva: I just got inspired by the dismal showing of Nigerian athletes at the London 2012 olympic games. I just want to anounce to the world that i'm going back to the tracks and i will represent Nigeria at the next Olympics in Rio De Janeiro. I just hope Usain Bolt is still available by then. The world will witness a rude awakening because i'm about to set a new world record thereby rendering Bolt's record redundant. But first i need to see a doctor to know if i;m fit to still do competitive athletics. Why wait till the olympics, the commonwealth games is just two years away, go there(Glasgow) and show your stuff. |
Sports / Re: Usain Bolt Is Using Performance Enhancing Drugs? by rume(m): 3:44pm On Aug 10, 2012 |
K,k: He would not have broken the world record! If anything, he had a good start and in my opinion won it with his start because he was more tense than usual towards the end of the race. ...and he's already broken two world records at the olympics anyway. |

Take Seun's advice and study "what you want to study" NOT what the university has offered you, except you convince yourself that was the university has offered you is what you want to study. OR Don't study anything at the moment, let the frustration kick in, then you'll KNOW what you want to study. hehe source: opinion 2 Likes |
