toluxe0075: They were remarkable no doubt but they could have achieved more. Do you know that if Klopp had taken other domestic competitions seriously, he would have made history in England. His team was very relentless and would have won the treble if Klopp has taken the FA cup a bit serious. When you are at the top of your game, you try to win as many trophies as possible. That was what made Ferguson a legend in the game. Guardiola is following that path even though the UCL still eludes him at City. I think Liverpool were more obsessed with ending their 30 year EPL hoodoo and forgot that they would have achieved greater than that. I believe in the hindsight, Klopp would see this as a missed opportunity to increase the club's trophy cabinet because in the future when listing the greatest teams/coaches, what people use to judge is your trophy count and not how you played. In essence, what I am trying to say is that this Liverpool was too good not to win atleast FA cup or Carabao cup to add to the EPL and UCL because they had the capability to win them. It is not late though. Credit to Klopp for building this team from the scratch. Another challenge awaits which is recycling and reinventing the team. 2 Likes |

I think Liverpool's problem is in 3 phases. 1) Their main creative outlets TAA and Robertson have been found out this season. TAA especially has lost form. This is where the midfield comes into play but in klopp's system, the midfield is just for hustling and pressing with no creativity and they also do not have enough goals in them to offset the loss of form of the front 3. This season Man city has been playing without a striker but the midfielders are scoring. Recently too, man utd strikers except Cavani have gone off the boil but Bruno, pogba and even Mctominay are scoring thereby reducing the pressure on the strikers. 2) For all Liverpool's success in the past 3 years, I think they have been helped by being injury free for most parts of the 3 years. This season has really exposed their lack of depth. If only the absence of VVD can affect Liverpool like this, then what happens when Salah or Mane gets injured too. No top class team goes into a season with only 3 senior CBs. I blame Klopp for this. The attacking depth also lacks quality except for Jota, the rest are average players. 3) Football is cyclical and I think this liverpool team has already peaked. It is downward from here considering the age of their key players. VVd, Matip, Henderson, wijnaldum, thiago, Salah, firmino and Mane are all at or nearing 30 years of age. The energy levels and motivation surely wont be the same as the past. In summary, I think Klopp underachieved with this squad. With their form this past 3 years, they should have won more than UCL and EPL alone. 7 Likes |

Codes151: You really get the drift bro. Agents use Man utd name to get deals done for their clients. All these are rumours and gossips and United sells papers more than any other club in England. How can u justify that United want Thiago whereas we already have a jampacked midfield or going for bale knowing fully well our past record with superstar signing hasn't really gone well except for zlatan. Our new transfer strategy no longer involve signing old players except maybe on loan to plug a gap temporarily. Heck nobody even believed they will sign Van de beek yet the deal went through in a few days. I believe they were right in backing out of Reguillon deal, United are not Madrid's feeder club. For Sancho, he is overpriced and secondly according to Romano, Bvb dont want add-ons in the deal which will make it difficult. The major problem United have is Woodward who gave many undeserving players big salaries and longer contracts which is making it difficult now to clear the deadwood in the team. United have an over bloated squad that lack real quality beyond the first eleven and currently midfield area. We need to sell or atleast loan out many players before we can compete well in the market. If this is not done, I am sorry we will struggle to finish 4th. In my opinion, we will st |

With what you described, I think you have klinefelter syndrome. I would suggest you jettison government hospitals and look for a good private hospital with an endocrinology department. You need to consult an endocrinologist that can follow up on your treatment regimen, this you can only achieve when you go to a private hospital as against the teaching hospitals that you will be meeting different doctors like you already expeienced. 6 Likes |

Minemrys: No worries, I respect your opinion but by next year euros when Henderson would be part of the england squad,we would access his influence on the team which would show how good he is. Secondly, there is still the PFA award voted by his fellow professionals and not English journalists who are most times biased towards their country men if they are in the running for top awards. The pfa award will show his true standing among his peers. |
Sports / Re: What Manchester United, Chelsea And Leicester City Need To Do To Qualify For UCL by Rumxy(m): 9:51am On Jul 25, 2020 |
Angelfrost: Spot on. Fatigue is really dealing with most of the teams now. The 3 days rest should be enough to atleast get a draw. Like u said, quality squad depth is the only reason Man city were winning all domestic competitions. Apart from man city, I feel by next season, chelsea would have quality squad depth in their attacking midfield n forward positions. For Man utd, they have many players but most of their substitutes are not quality which is why OGS consistently used the same starting 11. They need to offload many and buy good players. Liverpool doesnt have squad depth which is why they cant compete on multiple fronts domestically which they should be doing especially now they are in a position of strength. For the past 2 seasons, they have been exceptionally lucky in avoiding injuries to their core players, they might not be that lucky next season. A great team like theirs dont just win only the league in a season. Man utd, Chelsea, Arsenal n Man city were winning doubles most times during their peak years. For Arsenal n Tottenham, their only solution is the transfer windoe. |
Sports / Re: Jordan Henderson Wins Football Writers' Men's Footballer Of The Year by Rumxy(m): 9:34am On Jul 25, 2020 |
Minemrys: Oga Liverpool would have still won the league without him. He is not even in the top 5 most important players in liverpool this season that are indispensable. Allison, Van Dyk, Fabinho, Mane, Salah n Firmino are ahead of him in importance. The best liverpool player this season is Sadio Mane. Henderson is not even a world class player. I dont even need to be a liverpool fan to identify a world class player like the ones I mentioned above. It's normal British football politics. Let me ask u a question. If your team has a slot for one CM, who would u want to take the slot between KDB and Henderson? 1 Like |

Squillaci: Do u know he plays in the same position with KDB? Can Henderson lace KDB's boots. Check their stats this season. That's why I dont take English media n journalists serious. Too much hype for English players yet they underperform in international tournaments. The PFA award will reflect the true picture of things. |
Politics / Re: Opinion: Why Do The Yorubas Exhibit High Level Of Religious Tolerance? by Rumxy(m): 10:12am On Jul 19, 2020 |
I think this commendable religious tolerance by the yorubas is as a result of their earlier exposure to both Islam from Mali and Christianity from Europeans almost at the same period which today has led to an almost equal proportion in the number of Christians and moslems in yorubaland. In Christian dominated areas such as the old eastern region, they never came in contact with islam in their early history until Nigeria was formed. This is why Islam is still alien to them and they still exhibit some form of intolerance to Islam. Also know that it was far easier to convert our forebears(either through conquest or trade relations) to Islam or christianity than it is now. This is why I still believe that if events had happened in other southern parts of the country the way it happened in yoruba land earlier, other southerners would have gotten used to living with muslims in the same family the same way they stay with traditional worshippers because ultimately blood is always thicker than anything including religion. I used southern Nigeria to illustrate my view because they show high level of religious tolerance compared to the core northerners who are mostly religious extremists. 3 Likes |

patwilly: Arthur Eze is now richer and more influential presently. Nzeribe is much more older than Eze and is also sick. Around the 70s,80s and 90s, Nzeribe was arguably one of the most influential Igbo politicians plus he was friends to many top military officials especially IBB and Abacha. As an arms dealer, he was also one of those that sponsor military coups in Nigeria and get rewarded with multiple government contracts. Both Nzeribe and Eze have something in common in that they intimidate people with their wealth although Arthur Eze's philanthropic ventures far exceeds his intimidation attitude I must confess. 1 Like |

hedonistic:My brother you made so much sense. All I see between the two tribes is a healthy rivalry and competition. Come to think of it, when it comes to any human developmental index, these two tribes always come on top. Whenever you hear any good achievement by any Nigerian in the diaspora, there is 90% probability that the person will be either Igbo or Yoruba. I am not ignoring the good efforts also made by the minorities but any day igbo and yoruba decide to work together in Nigeria, the black race will soar very high. Please let us all embrace unity so that we can progress as a nation. 5 Likes |

kayfra: His ceremonial presidency was as a result of his coalition with NPC who had the majority not about Herbert Macaulay. Yes his presidency was ceremonial but it didn't mean he didn't have his way in that government. If he was just a pawn like you said nobody would have been complaining today that Zik alone removed the secession clause from our constitution against the wish of Bello and Awo. A pawn couldn't have had such power. Nobody would have complained that Zik filled almost all the juicy positions in Nigeria then with his kinsmen including in other people's region eg UI, Unilag. A pawn as you said even as a ceremonial president can never achieve this without political influence. I still repeat, based on legacies for their people, Awo comes first followed by Bello but when it comes to overall politics and all the intrigues that come with it, Zik tops them. 1 Like 1 Share |

senatordave1: My argument with Kayfra was that he said Zik of Africa was a misnomer which I tried to correct him. Please what was Awolowo highest elective post in Nigeria and which elections did he influence and win apart from his region because I know Zik and NCNC won some legislative positions in the western regional assembly while at the same time dominated the eastern regional assembly without any opposition. Action group never won anything outside SW, so between the two who was smarter and more influential across board. |

senatordave1: Tinubu bested who? You are getting ahead of yourself. Tinubu can't even win 80% of his SW in a Presidential election talk more of Nigeria. You even dare to compare Tinubu to Awo in yoruba land, u must be smoking something. Apart from enriching himself and his cronies, his political influence is yet to benefit or better the life of an average yoruba man on the streets talk more of Nigerians. Even in this government are you not seeing how his influence is being curtailed by the fulani cabal. Well 2023 is not too far. |

kayfra: The question should be why is he known across Africa but Awolowo and Bello are just national heroes? When you answer that then you will know why he was special. He has establishments named after him in the north, west and eastern part of Nigeria, USA, Tanzania etc, can you say the same for Awo and Bello who where regional figure heads. Even Balewa that was the prime minister was no match to him. Ordinary Wikipedia would save you the embarrassment of trying so hard to rubbish the efforts of an elderly statesman you should be celebrating. 1 Like |
Politics / Re: Is Tinubu nigeria's greatest politician? by Rumxy(m): 11:13am On Apr 06, 2020 |
senatordave1: The only thing Awo did that Zik didnt do was that Awo left better lasting legacies for his people than Zik did.Awo was yoruba first before anything just like Ojukwu was to the Igbos. Remember that the argument initially was that Zik didnt do anything to be called Zik of Africa. I never said only Zik fought for Nigeria's independence but his antecedents before coming back to Nigeria made him more recognised outside Nigeria than Awo and Bello. Moreover, the political arrangement of Nigeria by the British always gave the north an advantage not because of Ahmadu Bello. How can you possibly explain the North having more seats in the house despite the NCNC winning the most votes in the election. If Bello was all powerful as you claim, why didn't he stop Zik from being the first senate president, first Nigerian to be appointed into the privy council of the United Kingdom and the first indigenous governor general immediately after independence before being a republic in 1963. |
