Of those you listed, 3 of them were signed mid season Aquilani what?

Only Chicharito would even come close to Ozil, the man/boy who is about to send Kaka out of Madrid
Bottomline is. . . . .Some people will say this one is deal of the season, others will say otherwise. Yeah, the boy/man is good but "the next Zinedine Zidane!!?" - c'mon, thats worse than you usually accuse the English press of grin tongue

Another great match in that season's champions league was the semi final return leg involving Manchester United and Juventus at the Delle Alpi. The game at Old Trafford ended 1-1 thanks to Gigg's late goal and Juve was firm favouriteto progress to the finals. Even more so after going 2 nil up thanks to a brace from Pippo. However as they had done all season, United staged a magnificient comeback thanks to an inspired peformance from Roy Keane.
Man, oh man. . . . u sure have seen some great UCL games, haven't you!?

Remember Barca vs UTD at the Camp Nou group stages before this Juve game - great attacking football and excellent goals - the Rivaldo overhead kick and the delicious interpaly of passes between Becks, Cole and York for one UTD's goals!!?
And yet someone asks why I'm so gung-ho about footie. . . . .such magic moments pally, such magic moments make me never wanna leave that TV set when a footie game is on grin

^^^^^^^^^^^The Deportivo vs Milan game was in 2004. April to be precise

My Greatest Champions League Finals Night has got to be 18TH Of May 1994. All the talk and hype before the start of the game was about how Barca's attacking force was going to tear Milan's defence to shreds. Pffffffff we needed not have worried. We completely destroyed the all so legendary Barca Dream Team. We showed em' what the term "Legendary" meant. The most fufilling thing about that victory was that we had BARESI missing so basically capello had to reshuffle his defence.
Oh what a night. . . .what a night!
Romario, Stoichkov Barca of that time - scary. . . . . . that was the ultimate ITALIAN JOB by Capello - a ruthlessly efficient performance from the Rossoneri. Splendid!

Nothing wrong with the way Barca played most of the game. . . . .what I like most is the patience they show; most of us are bound to be frustrated by the fact they hadn't had any decent attempt on goal for long periods but the funny thing about football is, doesn't how poorly you are playing you'll get one or two chances. . . . .Real took the one that presented itself when they were clearly second best to Barca.
When you play a strong defensive unit, you have to bide your time, Barca did it so well but were just unfortunate when the openings came coupled with some fine saves by Cassilas and some really horrible plays by Villa.

What is the news about Berba?
After the diabolical performance at wembley, i will not be surprised if he is the one SAF was refering to when he said he will not be scared to axe at the end of the summer.
You think Baba will axe Berba. . . . .? Omo think again. Even if Berba doesn't score 1 single goal all season, he'll still be in the squad!

Monaco vs Deportivo La Coruna (*cannot remember the year*)
Probably the highest scoring match in a single UCL game. . . . . . but highlight for me was Diego Tristan's wonder goal; wish some one could get that video for all to re-live it!

Deportivo La Coruna vs AC Milan (*cannot remember the year*)
Amazing comeback on some special anniversary for the club; Milan was leading 4-1 from the first leg but soon as the cameras panned in on the stadia, you knew something absolutely spectacular was on the cards --- the atmosphere was simply electric and the Depor players went at it like their lives was at stake - commitment of the highest order and in the end they turned it around. . . . .my word, how they did, it was so special!

Villareal vs Inter Milan
How could I ever forget this one in the year of 'Roman' - it was the Riquelme show all through. Canbiasso, Veron, Zanetti chased and harried the man all night but it was like the ball was stuck to his feet and couldn't come off!

grin

If we go up against Schalke with a replica of last night's or the FA cup semi performance, we might as well kiss the UCL bye too!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by RuuDie(m): 10:00am On Apr 20, 2011
Poor performance. . . .but I have no fears for the league; if we have a two or three point lead after playing Everton, Arsenal and Chelsea, we've all but won it - Blackburn and Blackpool are no pushovers but we can get the desired results.

Once again, our lack of depth in the midfield showed. . . .SAF should start considering sticking J.S. Park in there. Carrick is just so below par.
The attack sorely missed Berbatov; we needed someone who could hold up the ball with back to goal and invite the other players to run off him and Berba is the closest thing to that which we have. . . .the long balls over the top for Chicharito wasn't gonna work much cuz N'castle defended deep and in numbers so there was always cover.

Sure there'll be rotations. . . .we have no choice. I think a strong midfield will be key, one that will support the defence and still have the drive to push forward, thankfully Scholes is out for a couple of games and Ando is back.
Goals need to come from that midfield too - Berbatov and Chicharito are going to have their odd days off, we don't have to be over-reliant on 'em giving us the goals. Against Citeh, the midfield especially the wide-men didn't show signs of a goal threat to the oppositions goal the way yaya did to ours.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: FC Barcelona Fan Thread: "Més Que Un Club" by RuuDie(m): 6:05am On Apr 19, 2011
Looking at all the pros and cons. . . . .IMHO
Pep and Barcelona really do not have to change a thing to get the results against Real - not especially now. The onus is on Mourinho to find the right balance and ingredients to outwit Barcelona. Meaning, he has to tinker and tinker his side - quasi experimentation, not quite the ideal thing to be doing this stage of the season.
Needless to say that a lot of it stems from the fact that Barca are sorta programmed to play the way they do, but time and time again we've seen why they have little or no reason to change; why upset the stability now!?

Yeah Real got a draw in the last match - a man down and a goal behind, they fought back gamely and that should give them a lift psychologically and they looked very much menacing on the break this time around. . . . . but looking from the other side, they had to exert 'emselves that hard to draw against a Barca side that didn't appear to hit second gear. Maybe it was credit to Real that they didn't or they were just showing restraint, playing within themselves. . . .but what happens when they hit the second, third and whatever number of gears we know they have the potential to!? If that game had dragged on to E.T, some Real players wouldn't even be able to run anymore.

I really do not see Real getting any results of considerable influence over the next 3 games - especially the UCL. Barca just a little bit more in the tank over 'em!
