Well played Pep & Barca. . . . . classic!

Keep the ball for eternity and if they refuse to ome out and attack it, who looks stupid!? Eventually the frustration will creep to the crowd, to the Director's box and back down to players on the pitch. . . .classic!

I still disagree about Pep's response. . . . . . Rafa's scenario was different, he wanted to engage SAF in mind games; nothing in Pep's responses suggest he's doing so. He is simply just broken his silence to show a bit of the anger in him.

Barca players puzzled or befuddled by Pep's comments  grin
Not a chance in hell. . . . .tonight they are stepping out onto the Bernabeu pitch to make a very emphatic statement - watch and see!

Schalke certainly tried their best to make us look better than we are. . . . .but who cares, we'll jubilate and gloat like we are the best footie playing team in Europe grin grin grin

Guys, seriously. . . . who would you rather prefer to face in the UCl final ~ God knows i don't want Barcelona!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: FC Barcelona Fan Thread: "Més Que Un Club" by RuuDie(m): 12:09pm On Apr 27, 2011
No. . . . .rather what Barca players should learn to do sometimes is talk themselves up - they show way too much humility and keep too quiet atimes. Talk yourselves up and then go out there and prove it - simple!
I saw the Jack Wilshere tweet before the 1st leg match against Barca - "Up for it. . ." and we all saw at the game, that he was indeed up for it! Thats what some of these Barca boys need to do atimes.

And truth be told, ask any Madrid fan which they would prefer - a shot at the UCL or winning the CDR!? If RM don't make the UCL final, do you think the CDR is good enough consolation to cling to. . . . .so Xavi has a point when he says the CDR isn't at the very top of their priorities, not losing to RM, that was and still is!

Since when did it become a sign of weakness to talk back or respond to goads. . . . if some other coach said something and JM didn't respond, everyone will chuck it down to JM's genius and conclude that he knows what he's doing - frankly, Pep has a right to respond, its not a sign of weakness or inexperience and if thats how he's gonna stir his words into action, so be it!

Probably, one of the best things that will come outta this is, anyone can actually vote from just about anywhere. . . . .no more of this rubbish 'vote where you register' b*llsh*t.

But then in reality to implement such an idea is not beans. . . . it'd probably cost far more than the current 'paper work' that we have and the security gotta be top-notch else the rigging for here go bloody grin

Personally, I feel Pep should not risk using Affelay for any of these Classico games. . . .Jenfren, Bojan and one or two of the other La Maisia youths on the cusp of the first team should be the back-ups just in case any thing happens to any of the first-teamers!

& for pete's sakes. . . .if Millito is available, why take the risk of playing Mascherano or Busquets at CB!!?

Good game, albeit against a very weakened Villareal side who seemed more focused on the Europa ligue. Puts us in a good place, four points ahead of Espanyol, level with Athletico - actually, it turns out 7th place will be good enough for a Europa ligue berth.

Things are looking up grin

Pharoh:
Man the action of the ball boys at Seville was very shameful nevertheless Seville deserved to win anyway.
If it was done at the Bernabeu, bet you will be saying it was 'genius by JM'. . . . . .yeah, it was unsportsmanly conduct but we all know the pranks all too well, usually doesn't go down well in very many quarters, we just gotta live with it!

Bilbao have opened up a bit of comfort zone for themselves in 5th position; its almost a straight fight now between Sevilla and Athletico madrid for 6th.

AM have the far easier game on paper this weekeend, home to Levante. . . . we need all the lucky breaks we can get, this is not a good time to be facing villareal who seem to be slowly waking up from their slumber again and are looking to peg back Valencia in that 'race of pride' for 3rd spot!

Avram Grant saying pre-match "the special 1 will come and watch Chelsea in Moscow" before the semi-final game against Liverpool.
The game was played on the anniversary of the holocaust (when he lost his dad) and at the final whistle he went down on his knees, tears in eyes raised to heavens in supplication. . . . . .very stirring stuff!
Am UTD fan, but when I saw those scenes, I wanted the fairy-tale ending for Grant (still wish Terry had scored that last kick), perharps JM wouldn't be so 'special' now in the eyes of many a mindless, d@ck-riders grin

Hmmm. . . . .we can yab Berbatov all we want but for everytime he holds up the ball in an attack, he gives other players the opportunity to move up and join; Chicharito+Rooney combo don't cut it for me, everytime we get the ball into the everton box its like 1 striker against 3 defenders. . . . no support from the midfield because the long ball goes over the top for the striker to chase and most often than not, he's going for goal or he just doesn't get the ball!

Personally, i'd like to see more of the academy youths play ahead of Afellay especially if it comes down to that in the games against Madrid - they are already in the system and barring inexperience, know what to do, how and when in exactly the Barca way!

Still Barca to go through in the UCL. . . . .training behind closed doors tells me they are gearing themselves up for a real battle - i like that!

Excerpt from http://eurosport.yahoo.com/23042011/58/premier-league-paper-round-modric-sneijder-united.html
. . . . . . . . . .
Manchester United are set to exploit unrest at Internazionale by making a swoop for midfielder Wesley Sneijder this summer.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will make the Holland star his primary transfer target once the season ends and is prepared to meet a £25 million price tag to lure the 26-year-old away from Milan.

Fergie is also thought to be keen on Tottenham's Luka Modric as he looks for a replacement for Paul Scholes but, with Inter's season falling apart amid intense criticism aimed at coach Leonardo, Sneijder may be the more readily available of the two players. (Daily Mail)

United have also been alerted to a potential clear-out at Porto, who are willing to sell off their main assets to ease financial worries.

Centre-back Rolando and striker Hulk are two players already on United's radar, the former having been watched by scouts last weekend. (Daily Mail)
Be very welcome if there's any ounce of substance in this. . . . . dunno about Modric/Sneijder but if we can land Hulk and Rolando in one swoop; what good bargain that'd be!
