Konza city - upcoming Sub Saharan African silicon valley - slow but sure progress - Phase 1 horizontal infrastructure at 50%

Why on earth would any developed self-respecting country allow a truck full of bacteria and smelling horrible to move on the streets? Treated sludge - of course. That is manure.Don't be cow like your west african cow friend. I bet you need so many permits to transport raw sewage in any modern city. Eti raw sewage is collected from soak pits - and trasnported in truck or railway in Newyork. Are you so stupid or what. Are you west africans naturally dumb? or this an excuse for yoru lack of modern sewage system. Every self-respecting country has an underground sewage system - where sewage from household - is transported through pipes - to a sewage treatment plant - sludge sieved and treated - and water treated - and is returned back. obaaderemi: |
Mad Cow...this doesn't warrant or deserve a response. Just30: |
When did you know about kenya re-basing? Kenya just doesn't re-base like Ghana or TZ did recently. You ideally should only re-base after say a census or such heavy data collections. Most developed countries are able to do census of some form every 5yrs - and therefore has good data to re-base every 5yrs. Kenya has recently done census in 2019 and a national household survey in 2016 (2015/16 Kenya Integrated Household Budget Survey) - and therefore there is a good data basis to re-base now. obaaderemi: |
Say what Every house in New York is connected to sewer line - the sewer line - transport - it underground to the 14 treatment plant. As for sludge from treatment plant - well that can be transported anywhere. The sludge at that point is dried and safe...not raw sewers full of bacteria and disease like you have in Ghana and Nigeria - where sewer lines are a foreign concept - and everyone keep their shit - until it flood and entire city smell.West Africa zoomen. obaaderemi: |
9 months later - Nairobi expressway at nearly 50 percent completion. All structural work to be completed by dec. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8H2mz5bLB8w |
Eti Newyork is runnig what system. Mad cow indeed. Don't confuse transportation of treated or dried sludge at the sewage treatment plant from your pathetic raw sewer from cesspool and soakpits. Otherwise if NewYork run on cesspools and cesspits that indeed very shocking = mad cow ![]() No modern city I am ware run any other systems except to sewer lines buried underground. No city in any serious country will allow transportation of raw sewage in trucks. Newyork has a lot of stuff buried underground - including sewer lines, gas lines, steam pipes, name it. In kenya typical urban definitely has electricity, water line, fiber line and sewer line. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SX1xmaKPb9o Just30: |
Mad cow just ranting aimlessly. I dont any other modern country running your kind of nonsense. Sewage systems world over is through pipes - not through trucks. Where do you put all the oil and gold money ![]() ![]() ![]() Every house in an urban area - should at most have an electricity line, water line, and sewer line. These are the basic utilities. In Kenya every water company does two functions - bring in clean water from clean sources that are treated - and take away grey or wastewater to their sewage treatment plant - and release it back to the rivers. There inlet pipe for clean water - and an outlet (using culvert mostly) for grey water. Those in urban areas - are water and sewage companies - and you pay the variable water bill passed on usage and constant monthly fee for sewage. Those that users soakpits or cesspits - are not covered - and that is where investment is made on. But to imagine a country can make delivering of sludge through trucks their sewage system and call it modern is the CRAZY things you get in West Africa. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOFDFe3NvvI |
Delivering sludge from your overfilled cesspits and soak pits with a truck is not an invention - it something to be shameful about. Are you too poor to construct a modern sewage line? Just30: |
Apparently, they have invented a new way to treat sewage. The rest of the world is still on the old technology. The Ghana mad man is a specimen. kikuyu1: |
What is widen tax net? You just parrot things you barely understand? VAT is charged on everyone purchasing goods and services - how wide do you want to make that? PAYE is charged on everyone with an income - how wider would you like that to be? Corp tax applies to all companies in Nigeria - How wider would you like that? Who exactly isn't roped? Maybe they are few items that are not VATABLE - but checking your PAYE/Income tax - it pretty wide - it's just that there is 1) Nobody to Tax 2) Zero compliance. Width is okay - maybe the height - maybe raise VAT to 16 percent - and PAYE to start at 30 percent - but with poverty in your country (world leading) - that could lead to more political problems and even less compliance. Kenya internal revenues I keep telling you are now 21-22B dollars. That is more than Nigeria can dream of in the next 5yrs. Kenya obviously is more credit worthy than Nigeria - because again - we have the revenues to repay the loan including their interest. If Nigeria was indeed a 400B economy - it's loan book would be 300B like South Africa. But look now - you have 85B - but you're unable to pay for it - servicing raito - revenue to debt - is something like 100 percent. Your gov is essentially BANKRUPT - that is why you cannot fight terror, kidnapping, development take forever and nothing is working in your country - not even electricity. After repayment of loans and their interest - there is really nothing left - so even the Nigerian Army who earn laughable salary may not be getting salaries regularly. obaaderemi: |
I am here to silence you and make your realize you country is not only doing badly but it's citizen too. My job is pretty much done here. Today the excuse was Kuwait and Saudi. You're not them. Not by any stretch of imagination.Your close to Niger. theenchanter: |
It should be easy job therefore to demolish my arguments but obviously the last refuge of a scoundrel is ad hominem. You have no facts. Just trying to look for popular support. Your facts should stand on it's on weight or lack of it. theenchanter: |
You're worried about 100B - when economy is 120B - possibly in my estimation (Let's wait for the rebasing) - and as IMF before covid projected - it will hit 160B in 2yrs ![]() "If the IMF projections come to fruition, Business Daily Africa says Kenya’s economy could grow to 15.7 trillion Kenyan Shillings by 2023." https://mpesapay.com/kenyas-economy-to-hit-10-trillion-kenyan-shillings-this-year/ obaaderemi: |
What is hard to understand that we don't have final figures for 2020 (Not seen the final figures - the last Q- but we have 3 Quarters). And of course 2021 - we are half year. All we can do is estimate. Rebasing of course can cook the figures like Nigeria. But that would be foolhardy - because you cannot cook everything - it will still manifest like it does in Nigeria. obaaderemi: |
You don't make sense at all. Saudi do not tax it's citizen. They actually pay them. And so do Kuwaiti and others. They only tax non-citizens. Nigeria corporate tax is 30 percent like kenya. PAYE start at 24 percent - slightly lower than Kenya. VAT is 8 percent - half of Kenya. Now tell us why despite all those taxes - you still collect as much taxes as Rwanda - outside the oil and gas. It obvious the GDP is overcooked - and as you can see ALL OTHER indicators - Nigeria comfortably sit at bottom with Burundi, Niger, Chad, CAR and South Sudan. You cannot be a middle income country - yet in almost every other indicator - you cluster with Niger. The law of average - mean you should cluster with Niger, Burudi, Chad, CAR and South Sudan in GDP per Capita TOO!...something like 200-300usd. Nigeria to me is two things - Oil and Remittance. The gov depend on Oil. Nigerians mostly depend on their kin outside the country to survive. Refer to Somalia. There is no local formal economy that one can tax. It just a sea of hustlers - informal hawking and such. Like Somalia - citizen depend on their kin abroad for survival - and everyone dream is to escape the zoo. So your economy should simply be summarized as OIL )which fund gov - both local and federal) +Foreign Remittance (which fund most families) + informal economy (eking a living on the streets). Maybe there a little bit of decent development a long the coast - but rest of Nigeria is not different from Niger or Chad. It wilderness almost...and unlike kenya wild north...yours is over populated like Ethiopia..more than 100M almarajis popping kids every year obaaderemi: |
2019 - I think it was 98-99. 2020 we don't know the final figures - WB says it depreciated by 0.3 percent - but KNBS will give the final figures. 2021 projection is 4% according to world bank. But I told Kenya is undergoing re-basing. This because we did census in 2019 and we have more data to rebase. Nigeria of course cannot afford a census..too poor. obaaderemi: |
Youre comparing Nigeria with desert oil countries with nothing outside oil. Why would Oil contribute to 90 percent of Nigeira taxes and 9 percent of GDP. Yet you tax heavily like Kenya. It's not like NIgeria is tax free haven like some of those countries....where gov doesnt tax but pay citizens. Nigeria attempt to tax it's citizen - as much as kenya does - but there is nothing to squeeze from a dry stone. GDP overcooked. obaaderemi: |
If you're interested in deserts - Kenya has several - with sand dunes and all the camels ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHp3_AfxPwA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNOHEusPP38 |
Mountain ranges like Aberders span 300kms - and of course the great rift valley cut across kenya. Kenya has so many lakes - very unique lakes. It has deserts. Name it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjrqFgHDBaA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5gyoCIidmM |
Kenya has technical if we include kilimanjaro that we donated to TZ - 2 of Africa biggest mountains - with Mt Elgon up there - some the Morroco Altas mountains is nothing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAwL0XtbT1w |
Mt Kenya 4k drone - Snow capped mountain - the middle of the equator. So if you think Morocco Altas is everything - kenya got it all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEZgJ2NfsC4 |
I am sure there are people who find the desert of Arabia beautiful I only compared it to Swiss Alps because of the greeneryIf you're talking mountains; I can show mountain ranges in kenya that are beautiful Kenya in terms of beauty is up there...but let first head to the Diani beach...kenya pretty much has everything...maybe TZ can compete...otherwise there pretty much everything from snow-capped mountains to deserts....name it kenya has it. It's not your SAHARA desert...it got everything. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFbX8fUNDoc ArabicBerber: |
Mad cow - Try to get this kind of pristine enviroment - only the Swiss Alps would compete. Ghana you have allowed Chinese to put mercury everywhere - the water sources are totally contaminated - fish cannot survive- the Atlantic is huge cesspool as you dump raw sewage onto it and - people can dig every forest - and while it - you're dumping huge amount of shift underground. My friend in kenya forest are so protected -you have a better chance of going to the statehouse than some forests. You cannot even go with machete - leave alone drive a whole earth mover - and start prospecting for minerals. Pristine forest, farms, coastline - that is not possible in Ghana - even with Sanitation minister. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DxAvcMko5g |
Mad-man - show me a place like this in entire Africa - -you have to go to maybe the swiss alpshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7rqMuJeLTY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1P7rmJ9wlzo Just30: |
Back to sludge delivered by trucks - Such kind of nonsense. Start building a modern waste system. Wastewater (grey water) should be piped to central places - and treated. Not in cesspools and cesspits unless you want to condemn your underground water.Just30: |
My hometown - Kericho town - of 30k people - with better anything than Ghana ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePN_C_746jU Definitely one most beautiful places on earth - more like the swiss alps https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6MLFAGIr04&t=543s |
Let me help. This my hometown Kericho- water and sewage system - a town of less than 30K people. That the sewage systems - and water treatment under construction. My campus roomate was the CEO of it - KEWASCO - but now is County Minister in next county. Now how can the little thing you have in that video manage 6m people waste water when it look smaller than 30K town system! Do you know how much wastewater 6m people generate - Nairobi with 4m - generate nearly 100k cubic meters liters of waste water daily (from consumption of 700k cubic litres) - that require a man-made lake to deal with it - there is no technology that can treat wastewater so fast - as it released - what is it using ? That is why Nairobi city has 4,000 acres of land reserved for treating waste water - in Ruai alone - and many more in other areas. The water is treated and released to the rivers after it is certified as safe. What you have in Ghana is BABY STEPS - I guess you never had any - like we know it used to cover Accra CBD - but it's broken down - now you dump waste water directly to the underground - and then drill it back as borehole water. No wonder the many diseases. Just30:
|
We have gone through this mad cow. We found the capacity in Accra to be a joke. And you're still dumping raw sewage on the altantic. Just30: |
I did watch. Like I said - the solid waste part is good. The wastewater looks like a plant for a really small town. You really need proper sewage system. As for organic fertilizer - from urban waste in Ghana - with well-known electronic waste dumped worldwide there - nay -you may end up messing with your nascent export agriculture - Besides all the cancers from the carcinogenic waste there. If you were using to generate power like Ethiopia is doing and kenya is planning to do - yes that would make more sense. Just30: |
