Failure is relative. They failed Kenyan exams. Kenya beat South Africans in regional testing. African Consortium for Monitoring Educational Quality (SACMEQ), Kenya's average score was 557 points – well above South Africa's average of 495 points, and only marginally below the Western Cape (the top performing province) score of 560 points; at the poorer 25th percentile, Kenya (with a score of 509 points) https://workingwiththegrain.com/2018/02/28/better-education-kenyas-history-lesson-for-south-africa/#:~:text=African%20Consortium%20for%20Monitoring%20Educational,a%20score%20of%20509%20points) Kenya leads Sub-Sahara Africa in HCI - but just at 52% - so still long way compared to say South Asian or Scandavian. https://www.businessdailyafrica.com/resource/image/2254282/landscape_ratio16x9/1160/652/bf0a2c190141ca3d10261cff81eacef6/Xl/ng.jpg Vlain: |
When I talk about Africa - I mean sub-sahara - for all intent and purpose the supra sahara are in middle east. Vlain: |
How do you manage to stay online from that mental hospital? Just40: |
I mean look at Takoradi vidoes he has been posting for days. Can you compare say Nakuru with any of west african crap ![]() ![]() ![]() Rather than long arguments - these ignorant west africans should take 15 minutes and watch video of say Nakuru...Nairobi is too much for them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfZoGkicutQ mtisTheQubit: |
You rather not show such videos; Total underwhelming. If that is the best you got; it's shocking Just40: |
I do. I also know why they are in such dire straits - the IMF colony. You just need to see how they reason to know despite being Africa top gold producers, now exporting oil, aluminium, bauxite and name it; they look worse than Nigeria. mtisTheQubit: |
And they don't even realize they are going down. mtisTheQubit: |
Talk is cheap. With all your golds, oil and name it; you still look like any west african backwater. Accra will not get here in your lifetime. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZRdqC4lhRM Just40: |
Your economy would not have stagnated for a decade if it was that rosy. 10yrs ago - South Africa gdp was - 416B dollars 10yrs later --- the story look like this GDP in billion U.S. dollars 2022* 346.56 2021* 317.19 2020* 282.59 2019 351.35 Austine1213: |
Morroco does a better job than Egypt. Egypt is trying to catch up. Somehow you think you KNOW ANYTHING? That you can teach us. You went to horrible South africa education system - never forget that. Kenyans maybe be poorer than south africa - but they are more wordly if not intelligent - because of our high quality of education. Austine1213: |
When did I talk about new city in Cairo. I am actually impressed by hotels they building in mediterrian sea - ultimately this will earn them lot of money from European tourists. You engage in what is called strawman arguments. Enact a straw man, attribute it to someone else and then go ahead to demolish it - and act like you're anything but obtuse. Austine1213: |
Your automobile industry is good - but generally - you're not doing enough. Your fdi per annum are 2.5-4B dollars. Very small for a country of 60m that is about size of Nigeria. Austine1213: |
Show us something being constructed - not wet dreams. leave those for Nigerians. Austine1213: |
Start with gold. From being top gold producers for nearly 100yrs - now you're no 8-10. Joburg was built from gold. That gold right now is 10km deep and it doesn't make any economic sense to mine it. South Africa is familiar tragedy. If you know anything about Latin America then you'll understand that Spain and Portugal developed (without industralizing) by minning Latin America dry. The same with South Africa - the whites - dutch/british/jew - mined your country dry and left you poor. Austine1213: |
of course they are doing catch up - in a pretty impressive scale. Austine1213: |
South Africa for most of 20th century was the Saudi Arabia of minerals - and that is what British/Boers used to build one of world most impressive infrastructure. Kenya has been unlucky with minerals and we have had to bootstrap resources. Unfortunately RSA has depleted it's minerals without becoming developed nation. Last decade alone - economy has tanked - and next decades doesn't look any better. Austine1213: |
Southern africa is not doing any better Austine1213: |
We were talking construction. Yes there is no doubt that South Africa is one of most developed country in Sub-Sahara Africa. That is mostly thanks to minerals - that are now depleted. Austine1213: |
Nairobi - accra - cannot get there but just dreaming and faking data
|
RSA is not at par with Egypt when it come to construction. Egypt is mega construction site - cement consumption at nearly 60M metric tonnes. That is more than 4 times South Africa (at 14-15m). South Africa is almost at kenya level - if you factor that South Africa is twice bigger than Kenya - and has 10m more people. Austine1213: |
Nairobi expressway (700m dollars) to be completed this year. 25% done in 3 months. More than 8 sites - entire section is constructed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11PRk0yZfrY |
Ghana future - 2100 - Accra might look like this - if they really work hard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jT2fOs--TKQ |
Precisely why I call most of West Africa cities slumpolis - integrated slums - without any zoning or building code enforced. Slum occupy 2% of Nairobi landmass (5% of the built up area). The slums are all ILLEGALLY built on road reserves, power line/sewage line reserves, forest, and rivers; they will be all demolished eventually. For example recently - one such slum - that was sitting on sewage reserve land - was demolished After slums - you get to Eastland kinda of low quality high rise apartments. Those ones are mostly approved - although a few were built without approval and do get demolished. In Kenya you cannot just build without APPROVAL. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-jxjxehtyQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tqYkH28p9A popizaino: |

Seem like the only functioning thing in Nigeria is Dangote. 68816419: |
Which SA company is leading shareholder there? South Africa companies have come but few have succeeded. Those in insurance and banking are the exception - the rest don't last. Vlain: |
Maybe 88K - sound credible - I know total enrollment - and simply divided by 4 - that good ballpark estimate. I know about 125k are admitted annually - I guess some drop out ? Source - Commission For University Education - is an example of good sources - don't go scourging the internet for any crap that can support your viewpoint. https://cue.or.ke/index.php/downloads-1/category/18-universities-data-0-3 jln115: |
He is a real irritant - who just quotes anything - and then takes the high pedestal. If we are to cite our sources - it better be credible. Not anything random you pick online - by content creators trying to get adsense and ads. Shma2020: |
We are not writing academic papers for peer review. This is forum to discus contemporaneous issues around our countries. When I quote figures, I expect you take it, and if you disagree, you do the research - and if unable - you can ask me to provide link. But I am not going to be linking or citing everything. jln115: |
I took his word that South Africa was graduating 65,000 at it's HIGHEST (my mistake - I should have known that like you he has no credibility nor intelligence ) My initial reaction was shock because I know Kenya figures on my fingertips. I knew Kenya is doing nearly 150K - and of course all are black. I was suprised Kenya would do less than that. Now for you - instead of researching the correct figures - you went ahead and claimed Kenya graduated 15,000 ![]() Now what is retarded about that. It's retarded that 1) you don't understand the context and 2) you want me to apologize despite taking own initiative to disapprove your own figures - and actually give you a higher more accurate figure. and 3) finally - you claimed Kenya graduates 15K and quoted some seedy website. WHAT HELL IS WRONG with some of you? Is congenital or just lack of proper education like we know down there or drugs? jln115: |
