Gama12:Kenya has done it without minerals or arable land...mostly by emphasis on education.Kenyatta inspired Kenya into africa socialism of self help and gave birth to Africa largest cooperative movement..7th largest worldwide..Kenyans pull their resources together however little and benefit from economies of scale.Moi was a dictator who overstayed but he had a passion for education.Kibaki fixed our broken nation and we recovered..and without COVID would have completed 20yrs of growth. Kenya is good example to many countries that good education, cooperation, capitalism and entrepreneurship triumphs gold or oil |
Eventually they will open up - we dont need to fire any shot. We just have to wait for them to realize that Kenya is on another level - and they will open all their orifices wide - and we will get on the job. Ignorance is very expensive. They have to pay for it. gallivant: |
This is actually the big difference btw Kenya and many of these countries. We have never really dropped the ball when it come to education. That has helped us thrive despite lacking any natural resources including arable land. Most Kenyans instinctively understand the importance of education. Therefore parents really worked hard, teachers and students too. There is no doubt that kenya has Sub-Saharan best human capital because of that. gallivant: |
Their solution is apparently to close border to prevent smarter and more educated kenyans from their take over their country? If only they knew how far behind they are... gallivant: |
For country of 60M - with twice the size of Kenya landmass - that is some serious under-investment in education. They are going nowhere. The biggest investment a country can make is on education. 17K with 5K secondary schools! Now wonder our friend here just know how to brey like a donkey "hee-haaw"- Kazibure - hohohoho Wuoche: |
Seriously. Yeah the Ujamaa legacy of laziness and witchcraft is real. Wuoche: |
lol, yes we are tired of stealing their mountain ![]() gallivant: |
Nigeria's best estate - Banana Island - is worse than Nairobi middle class https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mM6nZV5HdI Can't even compare to middle class - kilimani-westland https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3NIgWNh1Vs&t=190s |
That is next step. We stop moderating exams to produce normal curve. We want mass failure to end in TIVET. We had a problem when university enrollment had gone haywire. Just30: |
Nigeria in Suffering Pics look really stone-age. Muthaiga Nairobi - world class estates. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjGD8Rkf_-k |
Yes he is practical - covid-19 is new circumstance - we need spacing and all that. I rather kids learn under a tree - than situation like Nigeria which has world most out of school kids - I bet enrollment rate in your country is 20%. Abohboy: |
Kenya education - while Tanzania are sending away pregnant kids from school - kenya this year is hunting those teenage pregnant kids to be taken to school after counselling. Lots of kids got pregnant during covid-19. |
Kenya is not GHANA - who are waiting for pope to build them missionary schools. Here is our Minister at 99%. Kenya is hunting Maasai kids - otherwise it's 99%. Only 10,000 kids out of 1.1m who sat for primary exam had not enrolled - and I think were all hunted down - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpRQUJIrx88 |
In 2020 - I bet we went to 99.5% - heck some kids left primary and joined polythenic - 800 out of 1M of them - we hunted them “Over 800 students who sat for KCPE in 2019 have joined TVETs. This is contrary to the expectations of 100% transition initiative which seeks to have all primary students join secondary schools to advance their studies,” he said. Kenya - ). Transition rates from primary to secondary school level increased from 81.9 percent in 2015 to 88 percent in 2018 January and to 99% in 2019. We came to Ghana to see if we can use double track to move from 99% to 100% - 1% are those in Turkana and northern remote areas. We decided against it and build new schools. In kenya police - Chiefs (prov administration) - go round villages hunting for 100% kids to transition to secondary school. For example Nairobi had some 24 kids who missed school...we build a new school for them To carry on with its plans, the government has set up a new secondary school in Nairobi County to accommodate some of 2019 KCPE candidates who had not joined Form One as by the set deadlines for reporting into secondary schools. The new school has been set up within Riruta Satellite Primary School in Dagoretti Sub County and 24 students have been enrolled. Just30: |
Everywhere in Nigeria looks really faded and old - the cars are maybe 30-40yrs on average. SUFFERInSMILIIN: |
Source of your data - 86%? I know of 36% as late as 2013. Kenya has attained universal - it now 99% plus. Just30: |
My friend - only 30% of Junior High School graduates in your country - are admitted to Senior High School You tried double track - where each student get half-baked education - but that is stupid. Take control, build schools, and focus on getting 100% transition. vankelvin: |
So about 2-3 per constituency. Please build more schools. This is very shameful. vankelvin: |
Their veneer of progressiveness was shattered when they presented Nairobi of 1980s as their 2050 - Beyond Aid goal. You got to be of such low ambition to present another Africa city as your vision 2050. At least everyone else steal Dubai or Singapore Now turn out their entire education system is run by missionaries. And they only have 800 senior secondary schools! And only 2% of Senior High school kid get admitted to universities. That is shocking. mtisTheQubit00: |
Listen to yourself. You did double track to try to improve the fact that only 30% of your junior high school kids get admitted to senior high school While you're double tracking - we are in 100% transition - since 2019 “I am proud to report that in 2019, the Ministry of Education achieved this policy by admitting all of the 2018 candidates to secondary schools. I wish to assure the country that the Ministry has put in place measures to fulfil the 100 per cent transition policy in 2020.” He said. vankelvin: |
They are linked. Because you left your education to church - instead of taking control - you have 900 secondary schools - man - in a country that big. vankelvin: |
Your sound more stupid than usual. You have so much problems - you put in a system - where SS kids go to school for half year - and then go hunting rats the other half Just so you can reduce the backlog. You have 14,000 Junior Secondary schools and then mere 900 Senior High Schools. Simple maths - 1 Senior High school - has to admit from 17-18 Junior SS - if you were to get to 100% transition. Jesus christ - 800 senior high schools. That must be one senior high school per district. Just30: |
Which one do you disagree. Your education sector is so poor. No wonder most of your sounds obtuse. Kenya is first in Africa to achieve universal primary to secondary transition. We don't have junior high school thing - Kids stays in primary for 8yrs - not six And then they go to high school for 4yrs And university for 4yrs. 8-4-4 system like in Canada. And we are now onto another system that is like 3-3-3-2-3 something crazy like that under Competence Based Learning Just30: |
You're confusing us. Anyway I already found your pathetic enrollment %. If you have 14,000 junior high school transiting to mere 800 senior high school then It simple maths 14,000 divide 800. The ratio is 1 senior high school - should admit all kids in 18 junior high schools. Obviously that is impossible That is why you have problems - and trying bandaid like double track : ) laughble idea. Instead of building more schools. Kenya we want to move from 99% to 100% enrolment - and were exploring using double track in Turkana deserts. Just30: |
Ghana Gross Enrollment - as of 2013 Primary to Junior High - 82% Junior to SS - 36% - College - 2.7% Kenya as I know Primary to High school - 99% High school to University - 25% - roughly 125,000 students out of 480K qualify to join university under public scholarship High school to TIVET/TTCs/MTC - take cares of nearly the rest of them. |
Something wrong with your eyesight. Remove the blinkers and watch again. Vlain: |
Precisely. There is nothing they beat Nairobi except in population and urban sprawl of low quality residences with barely any tree on sight. tylann: |
41K>900 secondary schools - Double Track . How big can a secondary school for that kind of ratio. It's like 1 senior secondary school for 15 junior secondary schools. Let me ignore the nonsense that primary school and junior secondary are the same. That is crazy - it mean if every Junior sec schools has 500-1000 kids - then your senior secondary schools need to hold upto15,000 kids Kenya we have decent pyramid - we have maybe 50K plus pre-schools - that transition to about 35K primary schools - that transition to 15K secondary schools - that transition to thousands of village polythetic - thousands of TIVET colleges/teachers/nursing/etc - and then hundreds university - (who enroll more than 0.5M students) That is why we have 100% primary to secondary transition. And you're doing double track - as you wait for Pope to build your more classes. Just30: |
What difference does it make who owns what - they are in kenya paying taxes, providing jobs and improving our economy - I know you wish you could attract foreign investors like we do. But you cannot because 1) It's insecure - you need armed escort to get by 2) you cities are undeveloped - with broken down infrastructure and crazy jams 3) your criminal reputation. 68816419: |
Why would you spread skyscrappers? What would be the logic for that? Nairobi like every decent city has huge world class estates - not a little banana Then like any modern city - we have huge business districts - now about 5 - if not more. Maybe a few years ago before drones footage became prevalent we could do long arguments But now I just leave your videos 1) Start with super tiny Westland https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdSFW5eBtxQ&t=170s 2) Jump over to super tiny Parklands https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZE1Y-e21HM&t=179s 3) Jump over to old CBD - very tiny https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZRdqC4lhRM&t=6s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRUrMNeI0MQ We can do upperhill, Kilimani, Mombasa road - We can do every Nairobi estates - and you can see CLEARLY unless you're blind that NAIROBI IS COMPETING WITH JOBURG - not you SLUMPOLIS. 68816419: |
How is your Lebanese two towers dead city doing? 68816419: |
