Signature is Nairobi Metro. Nairobi border ends with JKIA - so from Syokimau-Mlolongo - it's Machakos county. The same way Nairobi ends before Two Rivers.
Shma2020: . The following new malls are not on the list
Lavington mall Safaricom Signature Crystal mall
There are nearly 10new malls in Nairobi not on the list
NO. You great president his H.E the Midget Nana is aiming for Nairobi of 1980s in year 2050. We are therefore exactly 70yrs ahead of Ghana.
Wizzzzmike: Some Kenyans are so dumb especially you. While Ghana are aiming of getting to America and Germany level...Kenya aiming for South Africa such a low class thinking man lol
I didn't say. A south africa posted that boasting about 65K black graduate annually - which I found to be a low figure. I have since checked - and those figures are old. Now South Africa graduate anything upto 200K annually - which sound realistic.
jln115: You said South Africa only Graduates 46000 black SAns? How is that possible when there are more Black Graduates in SA than white?
Actually I checked - South Africa have about 1M university enrollment - Kenya is around 0.5M. South Africa under graduate are about 0.5M enrolled .
You graduate about 200K now. Kenya is at 130k.
You have upto 60K msc and nearly 10-20K phd - with about 1/3 from outside South Africa. Kenya has msc/phd combined of about 55k-10K - so not much difference when it come to advanced degrees.
The contract was signed in 2012 - and 5yrs later construction began - see your country has problems. Now 2017 to now 2011 - 4yrs for 150km railway. Even Lazy Tanzania are building 1,000kms.
Shaytun: Mr rvp2018 what did I say about pulling statement out of your arse??
Lies. Abuja-Kaduna - 2011. Lagos-Ibandan - 10yrs ago in 2012 - and yet still not operation. Kenya has done almost 700kms in 3yrs - and it's now fully operational. 2014 - and by 2017 - it was operational. We are about to turn profit While you're still testing Lagos-Ibandan line.
The crux of matter is kenya has now 70% (8M household out 12M) with electricity that is available now 99% of the time. Blackout make news here. Only western part of kenya that relies on Uganda (Jinja) have MINOR issue and we are fixing them - by connecting it to Geothermal
The fact is in Nigeria that is a miracle - every day the few with electricity - get 6 hours.
INSTALLED capacity is nothing. For example my power plant - is 1MW - I will have 4 turbines - each to produce 250KW - I can turn them on or off - depending - and if say it goes into disrepair - it could go off for long time.
After awarding contract - what else was your waiting for - or you had no money - just awarding contract without money. DELUSION. In kenya contracts are only awarded when the money is ready and all regulations have been passed.
How has it improved? You can have 18,000MW but the peak generation is what 3,000MW. The turbines cannot just turn when producers are not paid. Let's not talk about the collapsed network...due overloading and disrrepair.
You may live all your lifetime in that mess - of generators and blackouts.
Kenya took 3yrs to deliver and operationalize SGR. You have 10 yrs and there is nothing on the ground. That article is obviously written by Nigerian engaging in China hatefest.
Olander attributed Africa’s rail boom in the past decade to China’s indispensable roles in providing access to capital and actually building the railways. Nigeria has a better chance of avoiding some of the pitfalls of Kenya, which looks like it may struggle to pay back its loans. Nigeria’s railway project costs less comparatively and it has a stronger cash flow position than Kenya as long as oil prices do not fall precipitously.
For the most part, it looks like the Nigerian government’s been doing quite a good job. Contrary to widespread misperceptions, Nigeria doesn’t actually borrow that much from China and what they do borrow is used to build strategically essential infrastructure.”
Teething problem during operational - you're yet to even start transporting cargo through trains. Those problems of last mile, congestion at Nairobi dry port and etc are being fixed.
We certainly didn't expect to turn profit for first 10yrs.
“But recent experience in Kenya suggests this is a plan fraught with danger if other components that are required for its fruition are not in place. Kenya’s Chinese-built $3.2 billion Standard Gauge Railway connecting its capital city Nairobi and the port city of Mombasa has already lost $200 million in just three years of operation. One key reason has been that the rail has been unattractive to cargo owners because of its higher fees and tariffs, additional time clearing goods, and a lack of last-mile delivery, when compared to trucks.”
True. That is why Kenyans were not enslaved. The British and Arabs feared Maasai so much they couldn't dare go for slaves in the hinterland. These cowardly West Africans were being captured by Hausa traders and shipped by millions to the America to work as slaves.
Shma2020: One massai man can handle 20 Ghanian men.
Those people are born-fighters, you don't wanna joke with them.
Tanzania will forever remain in the shadows of Kenya. That one is a fact. If TZ is man enough - open the borders and allow free movement of people - and goods - and see how soon we will overrun your lazy witchcraft country.
Kazikazi: The only restrictions we have in media is,no one is allowed to publish false information. In TZ,you can't own a paper and u go on and lie.The authorities will punish. But if u publish what is real,no one will go after you.Our laws have been good to us but very painful to some medias which wanted to demonize a nation and make us appear as if we don't progress. As of today,if you just public lies about corona or cholera or Ebola, the authorities will call u and ask to prove your story, once you fail, then you gets a 6 month or 12 month ban or a lifetime ban for lying and planting fear in the lives of ordinary folks. But for u kiberan since u are a slum dwellers and starving, you think TZ should be worse! To your disbelief, TzTz is much a better country than your slum republic. What you kiberans don't understand is,TZ has a bigger economy than u,a higher living standards than u,a beautiful nation than yours,a peaceful nation than yours,a country with better transport systems, better on almost everything. But your politicians lied to you fellas. They gave u fake GDP figures just to make u feel better They gave u fake internet connectivity figures to make u Happy Thy gave u fake hunger index figures They gave u a fake report on paved roads total distance They lied about electrified households numbers They lied to you about your education system They lied about your agricultural sector performance They are still lying about GDP growth while the tourism sector is dead, and other sectors are in lockdown due to corona. But due to your foolishness, you believe you can still grow by 7% in this period of pandemic?
Abuja is a hopeless city - that has no soul - except as gov federal unit. I wish Nigeria would invest in fixing existing cities than trying to build new cities. If you look at billions invested in Abuja so far - it's a lot and the city look crap.
popizaino: Abuja has no long way to go....the area shown in the video is among the least developed part that is yet to be given attention by the government. If this area is comparable to your Eastland think of how Abuja Karen, lavington will be ?
Abuja will be the envy of the world and the only thing we need to fix is power issue and our security challenge .
This should be done for whole of Nairobi - one of those things that make Nairobi third world - 1) paved sidewalks 2) reserved lanes for motorcycles 3) and finally a really functional light rail - and more regulated buses. And that is pretty much.
Nairobi metro has a long way - because roads need to be paved.
Wuoche: What Upperhill lack is sidewalks. I hope the Badification will reach upperhill this year.
popizaino: Forget it.......just give Abuja 10yrs,the city would be lit. Funny how the new normal tends to be skyscrapers but Abuja keeps it low but most importantly decent.come 2030 Abuja will be the pride of the continent, the envy of the world .
