Yes, Bamburi rehabilated that quary into something. Nigeria need to do that esp in their dead Lego city of Abuja. The city need some vibe. kikuyu1: |
West African don't have a maintenance culture. I watched the video on gold smuggling - and the paved roads are in some parts completely potholed. They have axle control - but look like they are pleading for enforcemnt. In Kenya you only overload if you want to be fined so heavily you'll never repeat it again. If you overload by less than 1 tonne - you'll pay nearly 2,000 dollars. Try overload by say 4 tonnes - you'll get 10,000 dollars. https://www.businessghana.com/site/news/General/218571/Enforce-Axle-load-control-regulations-Antobam Shma: |
Don't be surprised the so called paved roads are generally broken down. Let them show us their maintenance budget. Kenya Roads Maintenance Fuel Levy Fund is probably nearly 0.5-1B dollars annually. You should see how dilapidated their roads really are. They don't even have truck axle weight control ![]() So their are roads are completely fried off tarmac by Dangote trucks. Shma: |
Yes present day Kikuyu has lots of Maasai in them. Present day Luo is probably more a bantu than Nilote. Justnotyou: |
https://www.wfp.org/countries/ghana However, improvements at the national level mask huge inequalities between the north and south of the country, and between rural and urban areas. Hunger and malnutrition persist primarily in northern Ghana, as well as many rural and periurban communities across the country. Just30: |
Yes, at this rate, we really need a new north star ![]() gallivant: |
vankelvin:Average ghanians has lower life expectancy than Ghana. You cannot beat Kenya low or high rise or anything that can be seen with eyes...just massaged data |
Just30:Northern Ghana continue to face hunger and starvation just like northern Kenya. That is why wfp is active in Ghana.Your Ghana beyond hunger is 2030 goal.It hasn't happened |
Just30:Believe it or not, we have never really had a famine in Kenya, like happened in Ghana and Ethiopia in 80s.We have had small problems in semi arid and arid kenyans but never famine at you levels |
Ghanaian cuisine? The national dish of Ghana is Grass-cutter Stew. Grass-cutter is a huge rat! The picture you have are domesticated rabbits - you feast on wild rabbits or rats Just30: |
But surely what is there to be proud of in Ghana. I mean by the time their president is showing up Nairobi of 1980s as their vision 2050 - then you know we are dealing with the real dwarfs. We can donate entire west africa - and they have nothing close to this - in all the parameters - and yet they have so many minerals. Bunch of neaderthals. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYybTvxj-5M&t=24s Skyscraper zero. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZRdqC4lhRM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwzB_R5hV5U&t=11s Apartment zero https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZE1Y-e21HM&t=408s Low rise zero https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLcBtJ1Hmas&t=224s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXRvgio_X4M&t=234s Even middle and lower class zero. Heck even the metro some 30-40kms is better looking than their cbd, Shma: |

samorobo:My words are nothing compared to videos.Just watch them videos and pictures |
theenchanter:Better than anything west Africa but definitely not South Africa and Magreb |
I guess Abuja is bereft of anything eye catching. They should at least start some boat rides. Abohboy: |
I think villagers appreciate nature. These ones are a generation born in urban slums. They are ghettos in every way. mtisTheQubit: |
I have seen the house...it doesn't come close to that. That house you have are best you can find everywhere - and I doubt you can find it even in South Africa. Those ones cost 100m dollars. Shma: |
Precisely - they are more Akataa - their idea of luxury is pompous display. It probably linked to their low self esteem camouflaged in their loudness and brashness. mtisTheQubit: |
First time it happens it surreal. Those womans have gigantic clit that explode. First time it happened to me I wanted to quickly take a phone and video tape. And it's not pee - coz there is no smell of amonia. mtisTheQubit: |
Very much doubt it. Shma: |
What exactly is the idea behind this look like an abandoned quary. Are Nigerians just going there to watch it?Abohboy: |
What truth. We first need to establish it little girl. Austine1213: |
Is that first Pic really Nairobi. That would be word class property even in US. Shma: |
We know your idea of luxury is to build a house and fill it up with italian, chinese, and spanish wares. There is a lot that goes into making world class luxurious houses. It start from designing the house to ensure you live in the most habitable environment possible. It start from having enough large private spaces. Look at that shitty Banana Island - you have mixed use development - the guy in the apartment can see what Dangote is upto anytime. In Nairobi the high class residence are exclusively low rise...you cannot erect even a telecommunication mast without a huge fight. Then it start from having right environment - with fresh air, natural breeze, birds chirping, name it. Then you go surrounding - best hotels, schools, hospitals, name it. That is why Nairobi is well regarded and our real estate is like our gold. And we are not talking one or two estates - we are talking something like 1/2 of Nairobi landmass I think AfricaTravellers is going to take pics of most of them https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLcBtJ1Hmas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXRvgio_X4M&t=103s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8mr97ZGMJg&t=973s Just30: |
This is based on what - you own hunch or some empirical evidence. Austine1213: |
Nairobi has world-class houses designed by world-class architects. There is a lot that go into designing a house - to ensure you have best livable space as much as possible. That is why they are sold for million of dollars and attract buyers world wide. For example - Magnolia Hills estate Karen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fc_LnC2mB4k Just30: |
And yet all you showed us as ceramic tiles from China. I bet like Nigeria and DRC - you export a lot of mahogany. In kenya we have to bring it all the way from Congo. And now you're shouting Italian and SpanishJust30: |
Italian are known for kitchenware and related. All the hardwood you need is actually from West and central Africa. All you need is to buy yourself Mahogany timber...and do what you want. Just30: |
West Africa is truly cursed. Those cheap apartments are the most luxurious. All I have seen are middle class residences. Just30: |
How would you understand when Ghana is worse than Tanzania and Uganda. I mean your entire city is one slumpolis. Maybe 10 or 20 housing units are decents. The rest of the city is whack. Just30: |
You clearly don't understand. Luxury/High end finishes are made from real (not fake) hard wood like mahogany - and those houses are designed to last 100yrs plus without losing their appeal - they actually get better with age. But come back to your chinese house after 10yrs and you'll have to re do it. Just30: |
If you can afford to use hard wood flooring for your low cost housing - then you're world richest country. When it come to wares ? What do you mean! Houses are a simple structures Luxury flooring, doors, windows, kitchen and related - hard wood (mahogany) if you can afford.Kitchen - you can use metal - you can import them - from italy and name. Only places you should use ceramic tiles are the bathrooms. What else - faucets, sinks, bla bla? Just30: |
