When this thread started...Kenya was about half of Nigeria GDP per capita (nominal) - now I think we have overtaken her. We are with Ghana at 2000 plus. We need to double our GDP from 100b to 200B - and we will be at 4,000 - proper middle class - from lower middle class. South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Mauritus are example of proper middle class countries.
Many more will come up. Yes Nairobi is about 10-15yrs from South Africa level. And so many miles ahead of West Africa.
Btw the reforms going on housing sectors - once they bear fruit - you'll see the 500K units being built.
They are already 26B dollars committment on mass housing.
We are changing many laws - on mortagages, pensions, etc.
samorobo: If you don't know already that pinnacle is dead and out then you are by far the dumbest person i have met... and the hole dug is yet again another habitat to breed more mosquitoes in upperhill..
And dude stop decieving yourself...your upperhill and Westland has more high-rises than Sandton and waterfall combined but Sandton or even the baby of yesterday which is waterfall but it still looks far ahead of anything in Kenya...
Like haven't you been seeing those hi-tech buildings austine have been posting.....there is a certain building he posted that look like Jeff Bezos scrapes in the US but a much smaller and shorter version...that is what i call buildings of the 21st century and they are allover Sandton and waterfall.... Infastructure and planning sucks in Kenya compared to anything in SA... nothing you do from now till tomorrow will change that except you do the needful or probably hand your cities to china so they can influence it with modernity like they are doing in Adisa abba..
Upperhill if Montave and Africa tallest building Pinacle were to come up - would be untouchable. I think we have 40 floor apartment coming up and couple more.
samorobo: Of course there was a boom that lasted four about 4-5 years and saw many multinational office move to kenya.... unfortunately it's dead just like most things in Kenyan.....
Dude have you seen how upperhill looks lately? Try comparing it will newly springing cities and neighbourhoods in Gauteng and be sorry for yourself...try compare the physical infrastructure in upperhill with let's say waterfall city in Midrand and honestly tell me which looks more aesthetically developed.... I keep telling you that nairobi can never ever be world class...if you want to raise nairobi to world class level I believe you know what to do..
samorobo: Dude you are making noise...and I tired of this repititive back and forth noise....
Do I need to always remund you that your boom is over and nairobi can never, ever be world class....she still looks really crappy and third world...no where is nairobi looks like the worst district of joburg which is hillbrow and maboneng...
Video don't lie. Nairobi is in another level. I can understand why you need to post slum pictures to console yourselves. Two skyscrapper - Kenya parliament and CBK pension house - are adding some colour to the old CBD.
samorobo: So tell me..what changed about Westland?...is it not this not thesame Westland that we know or is there another?... Is this not thesame Westland I posted yesterday or us this another one?
And yes according to that IMF latest projection which was released some days back says that only China will experience a 1% growth the rest country all over the world is doing negative.....atleast their projections says we would return to the upward trajectory next year but Kenya will not recover until 2024...
Try again. Tanzania is AREMA - 2nd Class Chinese. Kenya is first class.
Kazikazi: Tanzania's is electrified TZ railway has axle load of 35 tonnes,Kenya is 25 TZ goes 160 kph, yours is 80 kph Tanzania's is reaching rwanda,Burundi,DRC while yours is in a bush TZ signaling system is superb, yours is old style
The African Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AVCA), the pan-African industry association which promotes and enables private investment in Africa, has released its inaugural report on VC, entitled Venture Capital in Africa: Mapping Africa’s Start-up Investment Landscape.
Their rail is 2nd class designed for high speed. Ethiopia is 2nd class designed for low speed. Both are electrified. Kenya is first class designed for high speed with option to electrify.
Shma: what complex engineering staffs is kazi talking about.? We haven't seen massive bridge construction, their tunnel is too small to our sgr, we have more stations which are modern and bigger., our rail line is complex. What else?, our load capacity 216 TEUs., I don't think Tz one can manage that, but let's wait., time will tell.
vankelvin: This is Africa. The village pictures and videos VRS the luxurious Homes the Foreign Media Houses will never show.. Enjoy this Video of a Ghanaian Village and Kumasi City
You can double stack empty containers. Otherwise a loaded container typically weigh 28-30 tonnes. How can your double stack when your axle load capacity is 35 tonnes? Engineering from Tanzania school of stupidity as always.
Kazikazi: Stop this story of chinas class 1.What is that? Our SGR isn't built by China!
Dude you can't understand simple thing like double stacking. OK,tell me,these TZ SGR tunnels, can they do double stacking?
Tanzaia axle of 35 - kenya has axle of 70. Tanzania cannot do double stacking. Yours is designed for 18m tonnes - Kenya is double 35m.
And many more things
Kazikazi: The axle load for TZ SGR is 35 tonnages, while Kenya is 25 tonnes.TZ SGR is electrified, while Kenya's diesel powered. TZ SGR can do double stacking.Runs at 160 kph, while Kenya's SGR is crawling. Comparing TZ SGR to Kenya's is an insult to the whole engineering industry
SGR also has different standards that determine what is possible, double stacking, capacity, speed, etc. For example, Tanzanian SGR will be inferior to Kenya for many of those KaziKazi engineering reasons.
kevomtaani: You are somewhat correct sgr is wider and can carry heavier loads, double stacking. But for speed not anymore. China installed a high speed train for Malaysia in 2017 the fastest in the world. it can do 180kph.
Precisely. What I told the Boer. South Africa should have copied Kenya model and dealt with Boer problem once and for all.
TayserMahrii: There's actually a few things prideful SA Boers like Jln can learn from Kenyan Boers, who btw are the quiet, lost, white tribe of Africa (not indegenous)
To sum it up, Kenyan Boers were a violent lot and got away with murder while protesting every single bit of British control. Eventually, the scales tilted when Kenyans gained the upper hand in the monopoly of violence, forcing the Boers to leave back to SA where they could continue their master race status unimpeded.
With the rise of Kenyan's rebellion, independence growing closer, the fear of African onslaught made most of the Boers, who had run away from South Africa, begin leaving their farms and going back south.
Then there's this
That last paragraph simply means that the Boers in SA can learn co existence from their Kenyan cousins, who as you have seen live gracefully under their Kenyan nigga overlords. There's no other way in SA except the Kenyan way.
Nigeria - before you sort your world horrible jam - you really need to import Kenya matatu culture. Would make those traffic jams bearable..dont get stuck in dafno for 4hrs.
Magoha has 80 page CV and Nigeria is small part of it. Magoha did not only study but taught in those Nigeria university. Magoha is an example of an excellent Kenya professional that Tanzania dreads they rathe close their border.
Wanabidi doesn't sound right to me. Inabidi would still apply for plural.
Mzal3ndo: I'm not saying its wrong but the way Tanzanian and Kenyans speak Kiswahili is different....Like Americans and Britons..... "Nigeria ni nchi ya watu washenzi sana. Wanafaa kufungua macho na kujua kwamba hawako ligi yetu." a Tanzanian would use fewer words and say " Wanaijeria ni washenzi sana. Wanabidi wajue hawako sawa na sisi" or "Wanaijeria ni washenzi. Wanabidi watambue hatuko ligi sawa" plus on the bolded Tanzanian would use KUONA in most cases instead of KUJUA.
