What about them? They have been increasing at double digit annually - now we just read 32B dollar budget. It doubled every 7 yrs - so expect by 2025 we will be doing 60B budget. 68816419: |
For a long time it was 95%! We know what has happened to Oil - the last few years. So it's not Nigeria diversifying - it oil drinking water. Nigeria federal budget is stuck at 24B dollars. Only god knows how actual revenues and expenditure look like 68816419: |
I am not funny - I am serious. Nigeria are known for making ridiculously budget estimates. How many times do you project oil prices and quantities that are not realistic. 68816419: |
Assuming you're midly interested in facts. Kenya is not west african backwater. When KRA publishes it's results - you'll find them here. https://www.kra.go.ke/en/downloads So far we have until last year - the year ended exactly 24hrs ago. https://www.kra.go.ke/images/publications/Revenue-Performance-Report-2018-19.pdf Just30: |
Hobbit - sounds like we are wasting time here - when it obvious these stuff are beyond the rodent-eating class. Just30: |
Budget is an estimate or a projection - like GDP. Get me you real share of revenues based on what are actually collected. 68816419: |
Budget is like GDP - estimates. Get me real revenues collected. 68816419: |
I know kenya better than you. The half year revenues were like this - focus on the last column - revenues were 8.5 billions - so you want tell me in next six months KRA went home. https://khusoko.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/KRA-Statement-of-Actual-Revenues-and-Net-Exchequer-Dec-2019-1024x407.jpg Just30: |
So in one day - they already know what KRA collected. The best they have is 11 months revenues. Just30: |
I am pretty sure 2019 figures when that graph was made - had not ended - so there is asterisk you're missing hobbit. Tea doesn't have royalties and neither do land grab pay revenues.Just30: |
You're incorrigible. Samorobo2: |
You're confusing your informal economy with Kenya. Remove minning and oil royalties from your paper weight economy. Just30: |
I guess your favorite rodent ate the rest of the taxes. Kenya revenues - taxes+AIA- are about 20B dollars. Just30: |
Let me try another method. In 2015 - Kenya ordinary revenues were 1 trillion Kshs - 10 billion dollars - from 65B dollar economy In 2019 - Kenya ordinary revenues were 1.6 trillion kshs - 16B dollars - from 95B dollar economy You see bigger GDP is equal to more taxes and more money for the gov - more money for business. Nigeria overcooked GDP I bet has seen less revenues in 2019 compared to 2015 - Let's face it - your country is OIL and nothing much more - just a sea of poverty with informal businesses. obaaderemi: |
Free English lesson. Duplicate - copy once. Reduplicate - copy many times like you do. We know you got a raw deal education wise. Samorobo2: |
But you don't duplicate - you are always reduplicating. Sham is right - he has a problem with bs and ps - but he nailed it. Samorobo2: |
Your entire cities are slumpolis. When you don't enforce zoning laws - you will continue to see urban sprawl of slumpolis. Samorobo2: |
Which rural areas of kenya are highly undeveloped. Turkana maybe. And other deserts. Otherwise rural kenya where I come from - nearly everyone has electricity 24-7 - we have paved roads - and those not paved - are well maintained murram roads. Our small-holder agricluture is a model for Africa.Just30: |
Kenya has always had a rural-focus to development - because we knew from word go - if we encourage rural-urban migration - with level of our economy - we would end up like Ghana or Nigeria. With huge slumpolis breeding poverty, crime and all ills. You cannot have 50% urbanization when you're as poor as Nigeria or Ghana. South Africa got there recently. China is just about 50% urbanization despite their level of development now. Now look at Ghana and Nigeria - huge informal slumpolis - where everyone is trying to escape abroad - otherwise they are hustling as hawkers, small traders and name it. Read where most growth and poverty reduction is happening - Rural kenya. https://blogs.worldbank.org/africacan/more-than-just-growth-accelerating-poverty-reduction-in-kenya Just30: |
You're describing poverty that make it impossible to have 140b dollar gdp. 1% tax to gdp. Nigeria as country is doing 5%. You have overstated or overestimated your GDP. Actually overcooked it. Samorobo2: |
Kenya is developing it's rural areas. Big difference with Nigerian villages. Majority of kenya rural areas have as good amenities as urban areas. You'll find electricity in nearly all kenya villages, piped water, and name it. I was watching Mambila tea estate - and market center is shocking - the poverty in rural Nigeria is shocking. In kenya - small rural centers have street lights. 68816419: |
I told you, he has no shame or compunction or scruples or morals. He is a typical Nigerian. Shma: |
1) I don't work for Kenya Gov - and I don't calculate it. IMF are doing projections and calculations together with WB using the same figures. 2) We don't have a problem with investment - Ghana is attracting mining dollars - we are attracting broad-based investment. 3) PPP is useful for internal stuff - like calculating poverty. No sane investor will come to a country whose currency is as useless as CEDIS. Unless they are coming for GOLD - or OIL - which is not sold in the country or in CEDIS anyway.Just30: |
Evidence? Go back to renders slowpoke. Samorobo2: |
IMF/WB will take any BS you tell them. Communist nations use to do this - lie and lie. It's like COVID-19 figures - WHO cannot come and overrule Nigeria - even if they announce zero covid-19 like Tanzania. Don't hide under IMF. Those figures were released by Lagos State. Not even YEMI KALE in Abuja. Samorobo2: |
Google Maps is online. Thank you. Just tell me what you're doing to addressing the growing slum problem in your cities. 1.2M out of 3.7M residents is the figure I have gotten. Austine1213: |
Kindergarten math's. 2015 - 64B - when this thread started 2016 - 69B 2017 - 79B 2018 -88B 2019 - 96B And we will get 2020 results next year. Now you can argue until you turn blue but Kenya is progressing very fast. obaaderemi: |
Nope, Kenya is so good, it has taken down all the countries on this thread. And still triumphs. You're trying to massage Ghana little balls (ohoo we are one) last I checked. When this thread started Kenya GDP was 50b - now it's 100B. Kenya is making tremendous progress in all fronts. obaaderemi: |
Anybody can write any nonsense in Quora. Lagos state generate 1.3B dollars internal revenues. Kenya with less than 100B dollars GDP generate 21b dollar revenues. You want to compare the two. Don't reason like a Neanderthal. Lagos state like every Nigeria state spew all sort of propaganda including declaring their economy the 7th in Africa. jln115: |
They just like repeating popular lies in their countries bereft of any interrogation. Justnotyou: |
Lagos only have bigger GDP than Kenya in your dreams. jln115: |
