Akwa Ibom - I can believe their figures - 13B dollars - when producing 0.5m barrels of Oil daily make SENSE.
Lagos state cooks figures better than Yemi Kale does in Abuja. They cooked their population to 20m. They cook their gdp estimates. LAGOS governor won 75% of the vote - 0.7M votes . He cannot tell Nairobi governor or his competitor anything.
Lagos has no manufacturing worth anything; it would be exporting a lot of stuff - and Nigeria won't be importing nearly everything.
You're in stage 1 of manufacturing - doing import substitution of agricultural goods.
The laughable stuff you describe about smart cards syringes - just show how backward Nigeria is! Those are basic stuff that are done in any decent city.
Abohboy: I’m not going to argue with you about any of this, Lagos produces a lot of things through it’s manufacturing sector cars, plastic bags, plastic cups, phones, smart cards, ID cards, credit cards, shoes, slippers, juice, chocolate, you name it. And it’s not like other Nigerian states don’t produce anything, akwa ibom State has a gdp of 13 billion dollars, and they have the largest coconut oil refinery in Africa, largest syringe factory in Africa, one of the largest electricity meter factories in Africa and one of the largest plywood factories in Africa as well. And as soon as they build their port which will be larger than Mombasa port, their gdp could grow even larger. But of course you will just say wet dreams so this is just a waste time.
27M voted nationally. In Kenya 19M I think voted. Our population is 47m - and yours nearly 200m. Nairobi county had about 2m votes. Lagos state 1.1m. Your Lagos governor got less votes than Nairobi governor.
Stop cooking figures. Lagos is only 20M from Lagos state stats estimates- from a governor elected by 700,000 people - with his competitor at 200K. Nairobi governor Sonko got 1M - and his competitor also 1m votes.
Lagos 20M figures like Nigeria population figures are grossly exaggerated. Census found out only about 8M people in the entire Lagos state.
Now talking of largest port - Mombasa has bigger port than two ports of Lagos. Nairobi JKIA handle more passengers and aircraft that Lagos airport.
None of them claim to be 100B GDP based on that alone.
What does Lagos generate? It's manufacturing sector is nothing to write home about?
The same state gov have come up with grossly exaggerated GDP figures of 136B dollar
Abohboy: Really, your nonsensical rants do nothing for anyone the last presidential election there were 27 million votes in total, but it had the lowest turnout ever in history of Nigeria. So why do you expect the number To be big I’m not sure what your trying to say, but Lagos is not like other cities in Nigeria, it has ports, headquarters of lots of companies the largest airport in Nigeria, soon to have the largest rice mill in Africa as well. Whatever your trying to say make it make sense.
Now I won't. So Nigeria GDP is Lagos (1/3 or 1/4 depending on the source), Agriculture (1/4 to 1/3 depending on criteria) and Oil. I guess the rest of Nigeria cities and towns simply don't exists.
So Nigeria claims to have 50% of it's population living in urban areas. That is 100M people. Lagos unofficially host 20m (officially census only counted 8M their last census). Those who actually voted in last presidential election were less than 2m...less than Nairobi voters.
Now how can rest of Nigeria faked GDP of 400B - hosting 80M urban nigeria - be worth way less than Lagos Slumpolis.
And there is nothing "special" that Lagos has - compared to other Nigeria cities and towns. It all the same urban sprawl of low key integrated mixed housing .
jln115: give me a source which states its 130 billion then I'll believe you..... But sources at hand put Lagos state gdp at 96 billion as you said
Unlike Kenya towns and cities - South Africa is creating brand new slums every day - as more and more people are driven into poverty. But now you want to engage in childish debate comparing Nairobi with your brand new slums.
Kibera and all Nairobi slums were all started in 80s - by Sudanese Nubians who found themselves illegals in Kenya - and there is rarely any new slum you'll see.
Look at your brand new slums - in few years - Joburg, Capetown and name them will be sprawling slums. Already 1/3 of cape-town are slum dwellers - and the numbers are increasing.
We don't appear to be doing well - we are doing well - pictures and videos speak for themselves. That is why we buried Nigeria long time ago. You cannot compete with our cities and of course our rural areas. Our slums are better than your slums because they at least have basic amenities.
obaaderemi: You appear to be doing well because you cook your data, my child. Cotedvoire in West Africa is also a non- mineral economy. It is doing better than you because its slums are not as many as yours and its people don't starve. Besides, its GDP per capita PPP is much larger than yours while its population is just about half of yours. I have been spanking your bum for years here and I have not run out of electricity. With its poor electricity Nigeria still has a far bigger manufacturing base than Kenya. Wake me up when you reach cotedvoire's level.
Precisely. Rather than face facts - they go personal. Or they dream like Samrobo - that renders will magically transform Lagos slumpolis into a modern city.
PHAYOL81: You don't have to fight that guy. You just threw your country under the bus before the international audience and now, you're trying to defend same. I'd advise you to swallow the remaining pride left in you and ask the Kenyan to help him beg Kenyatta if he could sent some able politicians from his end to help you govern the Lagos you dragged in the mud to stability. After all, by you stats, 85% of Lagos is slum. So, it needs help badly.
Honestly folks, from all sides, we know what slum is, what slumpolis is, and we really don't need all these horrific pictures of poverty, every thread. Or maybe we need. I personally prefer if we competed on the positives. Africa has had enough of the negatives. I will be the last person to post any such pictures...but will not deny their existence either.
What do you fear? We don't entertain Tanzanians despite them being our neighbors. My fidelity is only to facts. Not people or countries.
obaaderemi: You are really desperate to get Nigerians off your back by licking that dirty "Ghanaian" ass. That dog is too insignificant to start a war of words between Nigeria and Ghana here.
He is suing for peace. Good job. I always thought that Port Harcourt picture was not real.
vankelvin: You just couldn't lay hands on pictures of Ghana that looks so ugly than what you have in nigeria so shut it,, arrant crap
I'm not a Ghanaian but I am your family head nonsense... Accept your defeat.... The ugly things you have in nigeria out-ways anything good that country has, so get that into your irregular head.

First what is resort and what is hotel. Let us get that definition. Mombasa number of hotel beds are higher than ENTIRE NIGERIA - including Lagos, Abuja - leave alone Owerri (is that another shanty town of the day).
Maybe Nigeria has shanty hotels - that exceed Mombasa - but in terms of decent hotel beds - the entire Nigeria cannot measure.
Start with English Point Marina hotel - Nothing like this in Entire West Africa.
Their central business district look like an open air market where all sort of gross liquid from tomato spill and other perishables are thrown on the street of their central business district..heck even the blood from the cow they kill in that CBD is spilled on the road with local men pushing Thier ugly wheel barrow of a truck to pick dirts and woman walking around with bucket of water on their head to either wash their foodstuffs or take it to the hotel for guests ..all of this happening a place called business district..they should have just called it a "MARKET DISTRICT"below is the aerial view of their shanty CBD..heck this what they want to compare with Abuja and even uyo..
Look beyond the roads - what do you - iron sheet roofed houses of low quality - in kenya they are called SLUMS. A city is two round about and one wide road of 10kms.
The CBD is full of empty plots - and inner roads are not done. Then they have two estates - Maitima or something - for civil servants - and new one Riverrun or something like that. The rest of city is iron-sheet with cattle teaming along the streets.
Shma: I didn't even bother to go further. It's not just appealing.
Schoolyard pranks work like that. We have challenged you to show us videos of Uyo. All we have got so far is THE stadium and THE roundabout. I guess next is to show us THE university.
I have shown you videos of Mombasa parts - aerial pics; Now to the street views.
You keep jumping around. You saw Majengo slum of Mombasa and you've been running around. Mombasa is way better than Abuja,
If you're interested in Mombasa old town - here is a street view. Just 8 minutes.Videos are worth more than useless lamentations - responding to threads with NO substances is your thing
samorobo: I answered every single point you made with fact...four years down the line a d you are still searching for a proper Mombasa video to show to me...what a shame...
Infastructurally developed Mombasa doesn't exist..it's a wonderland dream..
More empty words. Videos and pictures will save your a thousands if not a million of words. You have zero credibility. And don't post renders for a month - that will help treat your grand delusions.
samorobo: 1..yet again another empty noise on port when maritime traffic renders your lies useless...real time tracking always slaps you in the face..
2..they are oil refineries in other parts of Nigeria. Abuja has no need for one..besides this is not what makes a city dimwit.. 3...Mombasa sgr station is only comparable to those in Abuja...it's can't even compete with bus stations in Lagos save for an airport..
4..stop deflecting and answer my question..is Abuja international airport better than that of Mombasa or not..
5...Abuja has lots of bridges, flyovers passing through lakes, forest and urban centres..Mombasa has just the old, dilapidated Nyali hideous bridge..
6: stop lying..Mombasa has very bad road network..very,very bad...
7: Mombasa has more buildings than Abuja .wow where did you get that spurious claim from .you care to share the link ...as for factories they are all over Nigeria not troubling the atmosphere of Abuja with toxic carbon monoxide..
Mombasa has more resorts and hotels than Abuja not Nigeria. Yes admittedly...resort,hotel beaches are not part of mombassa urbanisation...wonder no more why they are talked far away from your CBD mess to. Give some comfort to tourist at the beach and have them pay for it with a kid who*ore ready to service their dickks at the coastline...
Don't bring shanty town to an international thread. Take it to to Nigeria only forums. If slumpolis like Lagos cannot compete -what kind of delusion make you bring Uyo shanty town here.
Hunchogee: You seems to be running high BP wait na...Start posting urs
