not really, Nigeria still need a lot of education about paying taxes. Most of the domestic tax are remitted by formal sector, less than 20 percent of the informal sector pay taxes. NIGERIA GDP to taxes ratio is one of the lowest in the world.


NIGERIA needs to invest its resources to the development of his people. Educated society tends to be more cooperative than less educated society in collection of tax for revenue mobilization.

actually 2 dollars..and 1 dollar for absolutely poor like 60% of Nigeria.And poverty analysis uses ppp...currency deflator if you will...so Nigeria is in very bad place....with nearly 100m absolutely extremely poor people.at least 8m are internal refugees failed by Nigeria army, they depends on United Nations to survive.

Slum is side effects of strict zonning in poor country.Your cities slums and poor are integrated in fufu like concotion except in some few exlusive islands.This true in most Africa cities without a master plan.

Nairobi master plan 1947.Then 1973.Then 2014.That was largely adhered to...which why many cities have tried to copy Nairobi..the city with everything.

There are lots of stats out there...what is not in dispute - Slums occupy 5% of Nairobi residential areas - and 1% of Nairobi Land mass. I am not sure how 1% of Nairobi landmass - all consisting of single units (not multi-storey) - can host 65% of the population. Those are just statistics that Nairobi NGOS use to peddle to attract donor funding. The same people who made Kibera the biggest slum - by claiming that 2Kms 2 of land hosted 1.5M people - improbable - when Census was done - the whole of Kibera Constituency (not just the slum) - had 190,000 people only - you can probably claim Kibera then had like 150,000 people.

As regard to Nigeria slum cities - that another ball game - it's like 95% are slums - and 5% is non-slum. As of now Kenyan slums enjoy 24hrs electricity and mostly all have running water. They are just built in illegal gov lands hence built of temporary structures for fear of eviction.
