I was wondering why they covered it - thanks for the info.
Jonraid:
Mombasa,My home City! grin

Mombasa's Northern Bypass that branches off from the main Nairobi-Mombasa Road (A109 Road) at the Miritini Interchange!

The First pic shows up a covered section of the road which runs one kilometer. It was necessary for this section to be covered up as it sits on a fly path zone used by planes landing at Moi International Airport in Mombasa. Car lights during the night times would have brought visibility issues from the cockpits as planes attempted to land at the airport! The Engineers truly did their homework!

Unfortunately for you Maasai Mara is famous - and Serengeti lies in it's shadow - just like Tanzania lies in the shadow of smaller kenya. TZ is about twice as big as Kenya but we know it's about half as poor.
Kazikazi:
What u don't understand is,masai Mara is a tiny area within Serengeti ecosystem. All animals are born in around ndutu area in Tz.Those animals are Tanzania's. The same way aplies to Masai people. Those born in Tz are Tanzanians. There is no sharing.

Kenya is making huge progress against poverty. A decade ago it was around 46% poverty rate - now it down to 29% - and in a decade - we may lift another 15% out of poverty - to reach around 15% poverty rate - which would be awesome.

Now look at Nigeria poverty is increasing - nearly half nigerians are extremely poor - and I think poverty rate is something close to 60%. It was better 10 yrs ago when Oil was retailing at 140 dollars a barrel - now it's as bad as Niger or Chad.

Toju200:
World Bank has reported that #Kenya is still grappling with high levels of #poverty at 29.2 percent (14.2 million people). The report indicates that many people cannot access basic needs due to extreme poverty caused by unemployment."

Those are crazy stats. Just when I thought Kenya was bad - I think out debt servicing is around 30%(6B dollars) to revenues(20B dollars) - and right now we are mostly refinancing.

How do you get anything done with 70% of all revenues servicing debts?

No wonder you hear tales of unpaid salaries and pensions - nobody in kenya has ever heard of such stories ever.

Just30:
except we are not borrowing to pay salaries

Debt servicing only forms 55% of our annual revenue, we can affor to borrow more.

Nigeria is in a dilemma
it needs to borrow more in order to be able to pay salaries.
unfortunately, debt servicing forms 70% of its annual revenue so if it continue borrowing it will default on loan repayment because there wont be any money to service the loan.

you guys will be going extremely hungry very soon

thats the hallmark of laziness grin grin grin grin

He was trying to pull the usual nigeria scam on kenyans - putting a cement factory is non-event - he should quietly come - and get started - you don't need any special license or authority to put up a cement plant in kenya. Why would he be approaching politicians if he wasn't interested in favours. I have seen likes of Rai, Devki and Simba - put cement factories - without any news.
GERALD710:
Dagonte is one very fake person, given that his investments in Eastern Africa have largely been failures.
Kenya has had several cement companies since after Independence, he is not needed here. In any case, he would fail.He would be competing against Lafarge, which has been around since the 1950s and the Government of Kenya which owns East Africa Portland plus several locally owned cement plants like National and Mombasa Cement
And clearly given that Tanzania shut his plant down and Ethiopia is seriously considering nationalizing his assets, he is a non-entity here.

Nairobi indeed has slums. Lagos and all Nigeria cities are slumpolis. Big difference. Your entire cities are slummish... a hodgepodge of ugly concrete structures devoid of any planning, zoning and even vegatation
AskiaHarem:
Kenya has the largest slums in Africa including the largest being in Nairobi. Keep posting the same buildings from different angles it's not going to change the fact Lagos is richer than your entire Nation....
Foreign AffairsRe: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp2018: 7:43am On May 12, 2019
Why does it get consistently ranked with Lagos as amongst the worst cities to live in. Abuja is a monumental waste of money...
edon21:
Abuja is more serene, beautiful, and looks more like a capital to a powerful country that your Nairobi marketplace. Lagos got more than that in that rating

Nairobi is miles ahead of any of your slumpolis. Nairobi is not congested - Nairobi has lots of greenery everywhere, 2 huge forests, a huge animal park, and is indeed a very beautiful city - with some of best offices spaces, residential areas, malls, name it.

edon21:
do you think that the devt and beauty of a city lies on tall congested buildings?

Nearly 1B rail investment that transport 400 passengers to the airport and another 400 back daily. What monumental waste of money.

We are getting BRT soon - here are the buses. We have countless flyovers. We will real functional cable cars before you calabar nonsense makes any profit.
jaycent:
What's in Kenya that you want to compare with Nigeria. Only Mombasa and nairobi. Huh? shocked we have posted 6 cities here and you only posted one. And the 6 cities I posted have a nice and beautiful place than Kenya. You don't have brt. You don't flyover, you don't have cable cab. All those things are in different countries. So what are still talking about grin
