Yes - and I think we are - we need to think about Africa Free Trade - and then we really need to look up north - Ethiopia if they ever open up - would be 100M - more than TZ, UG, RWA, BU & South Sudan. I think as strategy we really need to get into the 3 laggards - Ethiopia, DRC & Nigeria - and make money before they wake up - esp in services sectors. Jonraid: |

I remember watching the famed dodo bird in CNN too. I hear it's been extinct for sometime. samorobo: |
Barely two months after its proposal, the Federal Government on September 19, 2018, announced the suspension of the Nigeria Air, describing the move as a tough decision[6]. samorobo: |
Yemi Kale nonsense - not worth the paper it's written on. 68816419: |
I wonder if they were even re-admitted to IATA - they owe huge debts. GoT has to buy the planes - like Kenya's presidential jet - and then lease it to them - because if Air TZ start owning anything - their creditors will seize it. tylann: |
I doubt Air Peace own one functional Boeing Jet. They signed a sales agreement at US Embassy - and somehow Boeing delivered the plane.68816419: |
The two laggards are at it. Nigeria has no national airline. It probably no private international airline that flies across their border. KQ has 40 airplanes - that it operates - it also owns subsidaires including JamboJet that fly regionally now to Uganda, Burundi & Somalia..it also owns majority shareholding of Tanzania's Precision/Flamingo Airline. KQ also operates Cargo business. Now let look at Nigeria airline industry again. Nigeria airways is still dead as dodo. Their private airlines are the world worst contraption tied together with duct tapes. And what about the laggards Tanzania. Tanzania Airways is dead as dodo. It has zero planes. It still owes huge debts that it failed to service when it was declared bankrupt few years ago. And GoT has bought and leased 4 planes to TZ Airways. TZ Airways cannot even dream of buying or owning one plane.... You cannot compare the Kenya Airways that generate 1B dollars of revenues with your jokers. Every major coorporation has debt. South African Airways is indebted - but still has planes it owns and operates. Name any other airline. This is not Kiosk business. 68816419: |
Nigeria is surviving thanks to Oil. If oil prices tank - Biafra will happen. Nigeria will not be able to function without oil - the gov will basically collapse -the military will take over - and then civil war will start. vaxx: |
Check the prices idiot - they are in rand jaycent: |
You're very daft indeed. Put the link here. Nigeria revenues is about 6% of it's GDP. THE WORLD WORST. I am not sure what you're pasting there. The data I know - Federal IGR are about 10-13B dollars - all the states IGR are about 2B dollars(with Lagos shy of 2B in 2018 - and about 1B dollars in 2016). Total revenue excluding LCA is about 15B dollars. In fact Nigeria federal budget is something like 25B dollars. All the states budgets despite crazly ambitious estimates are less than 15B. And this include deficit financing - lots of BORROWINGs. 68816419: |
When did Kenya external debt rise. And Kenya total revenues is about 20B - more than Nigeria total federal+all the 36 states. And madman - Lagos will generate IGR of 20B dollars in year 2150 or about. Maybe 200 yrs from now. Lagos IGR is not even 2B dollars. And that is about the combined IGR of the rest of Nigeria states. Lagos IGR in 2018 in 2018 average 34B Naira monthly - which is less than 10M dollars - so total IGR is definitely less than 1B dollars. Nigeria GDP is overcooked. 68816419: |
Sound like South Sudanese primitives. North Nigeria need to be recolonized. Jaqenhghar: |
It's leadership induced. Nyerere was anti-kenyan because we rejected his communist ideology. He took his tiff with Kenyatta so hard eventually EAC collapsed and Kenya & TZ border was closed for years. Mwinyi-Mkapa-Kikwete had no serious issues with kenya - just the usual national interest. Mwinyi & Mkapa restarted EAC with Moi & Museveni - and EAC integration was moving full speed until the current slowpoke Magufuli came into the scene. Their current president is so anti-Kenyan - and what is basically remaining for him to top Nyerere - is to collapse EAC (he has stone-walled it) and close the border. You can imagine Kenya-Uganda trade nows is 1.2 billion dollars - with Uganda in 2018 for firs time enjoying a positive trade balance. TZ -Kenya trade under Magufuli has dropped from 600M dollars to 180m dollars per annum and failing. I also checked communication - voice & sms calls btw Kenya & TZ - it is dead - the hostility against kenya is so much - what remains basically is for TZ to close their border. Last year when Kenya had drought and there was maize shortage - TZ banned export of Maize. They found natural gas but they would rather sell it to anybody but Kenya. Kenya and TZ are suppose to be very close and friendly. Closer than Uganda because of Kiswahili but their MYOPIC leadership has basically turned brothers and sisters into enemies. Rivalry is okay but Magufuli TZ is basically a Kenya enemy like Alshabab. I am not sure why Magufuli hate kenya - he tends to be a little child in emotions - but maybe because he feels his friend Raila was rigged and kenya did support his opponent (LOWASSA) - because he is Maasai. TZ & Kenya are basically about done. If Magufuli stays another few more years - I see even border at some point getting barricaded. NairobiWalker: |

That is what Nigeria never gets. They talk about GDP to Debt but wait until you read their debt to revenue - their ability to service the loan. They are definitely the worst in Africa - which explain why nobody can lend them any serious money. Just30: |
Kenya seem as dry as Somali - yet produce & export lot more agricluture goods than all it's lazy neighbors with favourable climate. Look at Tanzania - huge arable land - and incredibly lazy witch-craft practicing primitives. Let not even talk about the ZOO - Nigeria - where everywhere is nearly arable - but poverty is now out of this world.

If only wishes were horse, beggars in Nigeria would ride and behold the renders will turn into life. samorobo: |
On a good day in Nairobi - you can see Africa highest point (mt Kilimanjaro) and 2nd highest (Mt Kenya). Both of which lies roughly 150-200kms from Nairobi. 1) Mt Kenya in background. 2) Mt Kilimanjaro Huge snow-capped mountains - and once complete - The Pinnacle - will be Africa tallest building at 300 meter plus. https://www.businessdailyafrica.com/image/view/-/4531388/medRes/1953017/-/du7211z/-/hilton2.jpg

I am glad they retained all that content - after reducing the subjects. Kenya education is pretty awesome. They don't need to change a whole lot of it. They just need to focus on vocational training. Jonraid: |
Sorry but I don't see it . I think you guys are just not used to world-class architecture and buildings. That is actually an ugly building.https://www.desimoneltd.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/american-embaasy-700x480.jpg vaxx: |
US embassy Nairobi is also currently building annex next to the "old" embassy. That definitely should make Nairobi the biggest US embassy around. https://www.caddell.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Nairobikenyarendering-1024x410.jpg |
I don't know - Nairobi's US embassy is also big and beautiful - if that is what you want to call it. Okay that may explain it - Nigerians are using Ghana to make fraudulent applications - because they are no longer eligible for green card. I think Ghana need to really work on that - you cannot be happy to have 2.3M application (assume each applicant has a family of 2 or 3) - that is huge number of Ghanian expressing their lack of confidence in the future of Ghana. The future that appears to me to be bright and really hopeful. As for UK - all commonwealth countries - of course consider UK - their second home - just like France is for the francophone. That though is changing - UK is now completely over-shadowed by it's rogue colony the US. The sentimental reason about US being great or liking Ghanians is lame excuse. People are migrating for practical reasons - to get good paying jobs, education and enjoy high standard of living in the US.Bottom-line: If your quality of life is improving; you should see reduce need for immigration. chrisagyei: |
That doesn't explain why nearly 30% of Ghanians are 'desperately' applying for a green card when they have the world fastest economic growth. Its not like immigrants will find streets paved with Gold in the US. You'll end up literally cleaning toilets. I can understand people from desperate countries like Nigeria, Ethiopia, and war torn countries trying to immigrate to US and any other country. Why Ghanians fed up and desperate to go to US? Anyway in Kenya and most of East Africa - I think middle east (Dubais, Qatars) are now probably where most people immigrate to. US long lost it allure because people know you'll end up either a nurse or janitor with very limited upper mobility. UK is dead and buried. They don't even allow students to work anymore. chrisagyei: |
Vax - Why are nearly 1/3 Ghanians (I assume 2.3*4 in each household) trying to immigrate to US in such shocking numbers? Or these are Nigerians who are trying to beat their ineligibility. Globally, Ghana had the highest number of entrants at 2,227,5230. Other countries with high numbers of entrants included Uzbekistan (2.1 million), Iran (1.6 million), Ukraine (1.4 million), Egypt (1.2 million), Nepal (1.18 million), and Ethiopia (1.05 million). 400K kenyans want to immigrate. https://nairobinews.nation.co.ke/editors-picks/fed-up-more-than-400k-kenyans-tried-to-migrate-settle-in-us-in-2018 |
