Your fight against corruption can be summarized as Buhari. Kenya started fighting corruption in 1990s. When you were still under Sani Abacha - we had formed the first Anti-Corruption Commission(KAAC) - and we have seen it all - for 30yrs - and now we know very well the only way to sustainably fight corruption is through institutions. And it's not easy fight. But ours is a sustainable fight.

We formed that KAAC in 97 - was declared unconstitutional later - then formed another one and now have EACC that anchored in the constitution.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenya_Anti-Corruption_Authority

It's very hard to fight corruption when you're a democratic nation like kenya where thieves enjoy all sort of rights from corrupt justice systems...but we are slowly and surely going to slay it by focussing on institutions.

Danielnino00:
So you are now trying to say that transparency international index isn't credible ?
but when an index for poverty is released you will be all over the moon!

Your hypocrisy stinks to the heavens!

For how any years have you been putting measures in place to fight corruption and how much have you achieved?

Americans and a Nigerian. That is why they are based in US, Lagos and of course like everyone else is realizing you need to be in NAIROBI if you want to do anything in Africa - Nairobi is the hub. Otherwise this is just another Nigeria start up trying to pretend it can analyse the whole of Africa...
forgiveness:
Stop fooling around. The co-founders are many and most foreigners. grin
Foreign AffairsRe: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp2018: 12:16pm On Feb 23, 2019
And you think all these other African commissions of election are very competent. Elections were annulled because of our judiciary now have cojones. An erection without cojones is pretty useless. We have very mature institutions now.

The fight against graft is ongoing. And our fight is more sustainable because it's not driven by Buhari (personality) but institutions. Strong institutions are what eventually defeat corruption. Anything else is not sustainable.

And I don't think we are more corrupt than Nigeria. These are 'perception" studies. Kenya are just more perceptive of the problem of graft. You cannot be that corrupt and thrive. In any case we are working on our corruption problem...and I expect to see change of perception.

Danielnino00:
The election was annulled cus your electoral commission was incompetent simple!/

As for corruption, we have always ranked better than you for as far as I can remember and nothing will change!

Keep following the election updates.. You might get some news that will give you an erection

It was co-founded by some Americans and the Nigerian lady -QUEEN C. NWORISARA-QUINN . And that is why they are churning lots of Nigeria heavy stuff. I have no problem with that. They should restrict their studies to Nigeria - and maybe Kenya where they have some office. Otherwise they are producing totally shitty data - like Yemi Kale of NBS.

forgiveness:
Frayam is not based in Lagos. They are based in the US. Lagos and even your Nairobi are their branch offices. grin

The co-founders are many and a Kenyan is part of the team. So your attempt at trying hard to discredit these reports is futile grin

Foreign AffairsRe: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by rvp2018: 11:29am On Feb 23, 2019
Fact is our courts showed Kenyans and the world that a presidential election of a sitting president can be annulled. Obviously the loser knew he had no chance at repeat election but that is a story for another day.

There was another petition after the first one - and that one was rejected.

Now that is democracy 101. In Africa - Zambia - probably can hold the candle to Kenya when it come to long period of democratic elections. We can may add Tanzania. The rest of Africa have had military rules and suspended democracy for long periods. Ghana has emerged a strong democracy after short period of military rule and Nigeria ought to learn from her.

I had quickly checked your election thread - boy that sounds like party nomination in kenya - missing ballots or not enough - open voter bribery - violence. You need to annual your elections so many times.

As for corruption - we always rank like 3 or 4 position below you - which honestly is such a shame. It one of thing that is holding our potential and we are working on it. I think eventually we will leave Nigeria in that shameful list of corruption.

Danielnino00:
the man who challenged the election result in court later pulled out at the last minute.. lmao...
Progress indeed!

You can only deceive the gullible ones here..
Kenya is indeed progressing with it's fast growing slum and starving population in the north!

And Massive corruption!
Try ranking better than Nigeria in the TI corruption precipitation index then we will take you serious...

If you wanted to keep it Nigerian - don't bring it to Foreign Affairs thread - solely dedicated to comparing the shitty Nigeria and the progressive Kenya.

Yes Kenya became the first country in Africa to annual it's presidential election. THAT IS PROGRESS. HUGE PROGRESS by our Justice System.

Danielnino00:
Kenya has this...bla bla

Kenya has that. bla bla

Yet the election was annulled due to irregularities..

Don't talk about dirt when you haven't taken your bath!

I know you were expecting to wake up with news of the election being postponed again but God pass you grin

Kenya with less than 20M voters had 45K polling stations - we ensure no polling station has no more than 500 votes. We also have biometric kits to ensure ghost voters don't show up. And results are transmitted electronic whenever possible.

Anyway good luck - you really need it.

Danielnino00:
Nigeria election in numbers

84 million people have registered to vote

73 million collected their voter's card

More than 50% of the electorate are under the age of 35

4% are over the age of 70

More than 25% of registered voters are students

There are nearly 120,000 polling stations

73 candidates have registered for the presidential election

Voters will cast three ballots: one for president, one for senator and one for the member of the House of Representatives

Spain - which excluding US behemooth - is biggest tourist earner - makes 60B - from it's 60M tourist. Kenya which receives 2M tourist is making around 1.8-2B. I mean Tanzania cooks their internation tourist receipt - but it's not overcooked. They claim to make 2.5B dollars from 1M or less tourists.

Nigeria has little to no international tourism. It just is the domestic tourism - and if that is now 34% of their economy smiley then it's like their agriculture the undiscovered gem of the world.

Yemi Kale and the whole of Nigeria intelligensia are too codeine-d to critically question anything.

It is incredulous. 50% poverty rate when they have all that natural resources.
Just30:
since when did nairaland become an economist?

The 86.9 million Nigerians now living in extreme poverty represents nearly 50% of its estimated 180 million population. As Nigeria faces a major population boom—it will become the world’s third largest country by 2050—it’s a problem will likely worsen. But having large swathes of people still living in extreme poverty is an Africa-wide problem.

mind you the figure is 2018 grin grin grin

Crucially, of those countries in top ten, only Ethiopia is on track to meet the United Nations’ SDG of ending extreme poverty by 2030. Outside the top ten, only Ghana and Mauritania are also on track with the SDG target. Indeed, of the 15 countries across the world where extreme poverty is rising per World Poverty Clock data, 13 are currently in Africa.

NairobiWalker:
Thank you. Whenever I say this, people think I am hating. Nairobi hasn't built many new structures of late (other than the UoN tower and the new mortuary) but when they do, they build class. KU could solve this by hiring top architectural firms - look at Strathmore, USIU and CUEA - I view them as having the most modern and iconic newly built structures of all universities in Kenya at the moment and they don't have schools of Architecture. They just hire top firms. KU builds like those village university colleges - only on a larger scale.
Well - I suppose they someone to design them ugly buildings - maybe Mugendi was bootstrapping - and clearly she manages to transform KU from graduate teaching school to now - where it has overtaken Moi and is hot on heels of Nairobi. Anyway I don't think it cost a lot to build contemporary modern design. Jonaid hospital looks very average compared to new hospital in Ghana and even TZ.

Next your roads outside the major arteries are non-existent. You have rickety rail-line. Your ports are congested and containers takes months to clear. Your airports are worst than one find in places - again like Somalia Mogadishu. Your citizen are all over the world look for university education?

Kenya with likes of Bangaldesh have had the fastest electrification rates - faster than when US was electrifying. Access has shot from like 10% to nearly 80% as we speak now. Anyway with Census - we will find out exact number -
mtisTheQubit:
Boss even if it a competition thing must you lie.You left the last paragraph intentionally...

Electricity access rate in Kenya is the highest in East Africa according to the latest report from the World Bank tracking global achievements in sustainable energy for all.

According to The Energy Progress Report covering the period up to 2016, electricity access rate in Kenya stood at 56 percent, compared to Tanzania at 32.8 percent, Rwanda at 29.37 percent, Uganda at 26.7 percent and Burundi at 7.5 percent.

The electricity access rate in the country stood at 73.42 percent as at the end of April 2018, owing to various national electrification projects that have been undertaken by Kenya Power.

Of course we know Google. I am glad you finally found it.Now help us by providing the latest data. Don't come quoting 2016 data. Do you know in 2006 - kenya had like 12-15% electricity coverage and Nigeria had like 50% - Nigeria is stuck at 50% (with very sporadic power supply) and kenya is racing for universal electricity coverage like South Africa in 2020/2022.

Which part of 70% have access don't you understands. Let me break it down. It mean 70% of all kenya households in villages, cities, towns and even in remotest houses have electricity. 30% who don't have - normally are just few meters from the transformer - but cannot afford the 300 dollars connection fee. I think maybe only 10% are far from nearest transformer(600m) and would need new stepdown transformer.

When we say access - we mean everyone in everywhere has nearly 24hrs of power every day - excess during schedule maintenance. There is more than enough power for consumption.

Kenya slums all have electricity - 24hrs a day - and they have water - illegally connected. You should move there. It better than living in Nigeria's Slumpolis

theenchanter:
how do u know Nigerians are lucky to have 8hrs supply? Have u been to nigeria before?

Anyway, Nigeria is not kenya where "some parts" are connected while majority are languishing in stark darkness.
