Ghana is the topic.
Accra is always on most expensive cities in the world.
Inflation is killing you.

Do you see Kenya here?

1. Dakar, Senegal: Has a cost of living index score of 50.87.

2. Addis Ababa, Ethiopia: Has a cost of living index score of 50.49

3. Abidjan, Ivory Coast: Has a cost of living index score of 47.06.

4. Harare, Zimbabwe: Has a cost of living index score of 45.69.

5. Johannesburg, South Africa: Has a cost of living index score of 44.87.

6. Pretoria, South Africa: Has a cost of living index score of 42.76.

7. Gaborone, Botswana: Has a cost of living index score of 42.7.

8. Cape Town, South Africa: Has a cost of living index score of 40.98.

15. Kampala, Uganda: Has a cost of living index score of 35.98.

Folks suffering in kenya are those living in arid areas facing 5yr drought cycle - this year is worst - almost zero rain for a year.

Wild animals are dying in numbers.
https://www.reuters.com/world/africa/drought-is-killing-kenyas-endangered-wildlife-2022-09-27/

Answer your world leading inflation questions without bring in folks in horn of Africa dealing with worse drought in 40yrs - those people deserve all the help they can get - just like those in Nigeria being carried away by floods.

One failed rain season in Ghana saw all of you run to Nigeria

These folks have faced 5yrs of very low rainfall - sometimes it has gone for months - without a single drop.

Just40:
something is just wrong with you... Get you head checked.

Did you even read what I wrote ?

In Kenya, you won't be able to afford rice because the cheapest 5kg will cost you 7 dollars.
You think their citizens are starving for nothing?

Yes he is Nana boy.
POKUASI2:
don't mind the mumu man who's a paid propagandist of ruling party of his country.
I know every part of their industrial area.
I interact with unskilled and skilled workers alike and know that the average driver of big corporations like fan milk, duraplast etc..take home 900 cedis a month with no bonuses.
PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp2018: 5:42pm On Oct 27, 2022
So he leaves his work to go construction sites?
It's already been done by John Hopkins economic lecturer - it's 120% as we speak
And definitely the income of people have not been increased this year by even 10%.
And this not just food inflation - it seem to be core/underlying inflation - everything is inflated.
In kenya at least it's most food inflation at 9% - underlying core inflation stuck 5% forever amen -
Just40:
Go to construction sites and ask how much labourers are paid... Go and ask gardeners and cleaners

I hire a few, once a while and know how much I am charged.

I frequent industrial areas too and know that most unskilled workers there are earning between 1500 to 2,000 monthly which is paid weekly
PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp2018: 5:27pm On Oct 27, 2022
Desperately trying to pull a strawman argument. Kenya is not part of your problem. The problem starts with short man called Nana smiley who speaks and sometimes dress like a witch. He has completely failed.

And surely there was only one way out for such empty-headed cross-dresser smiley

Just40:
that expense is less than 10% of what most Ghanaians earn daily so a lot of people are okay though it has eaten into their pocket a bit...

They will rather be in Ghana where they earn between $200 to $400 dollars as peasants and spend less than 10% of it on food than Kenyan peasants who are currently waiting for food aid because of starvation.

I am more CS guy than Stats guy; you need someone who knows ANOVA/MANOVA/Regression/Random numbers; Most of the stats I know I was taught on the job by Oxford dude as we were build lots of data analysis - and that was last in 2012.

I have a question, my guy. I'm stuck somewhere.

*Research project*
*Diagnostic test*

Tell me When to use homoscedasticity? Is it applicable with primary data?

I'm working on research and a certain professor is just disturbing.

A detailed explanation will help.

IMF gives Egypt 3B with tough conditions - float your currency.Egypt's pound down 13% to a record low because of a $3b IMF deal with condition to a 'durably flexible rate regime'

IMF chemo & radiotherapy is still better than dying. Ghana prepare yourselves...3B if it comes....will come with very tough conditions...you might as well give IMF your gok to run. Kenya famously did this in 1990s - we simply let IMF appoint their cabinet smiley and do their politically unpalatable stuff.

IMF promtly appointed a white kenyan as head of civil service and secretary to cabinet - and appointed 10 permanent secretaries - and several head of key parastals. . The new team proceeded to retrench almost half the gov employees - in gut wrenching move.

Moi had given up - or IMF thought. Immediately the dream team was done with IMF chemotherapy - he fired them - and blamed them for firing civil servants smiley.Moi was political genius - who had managed to lie to IMF for 5 times in 10 years.

"Towards the tail end of President Daniel Arap Moi’s rule, the Fimbo wielding ruler was deeply isolated by the West.

Bretton Woods institutions turned off loans and grants taps.Moi panicked.

To hoodwink his tormentors that he was a reformist, Moi sacked Phares Kuindwa and replaced him with Richard Leakey.

Leakey came with his own conditions and baggage. He brought in Martin Oduor Otieno, John Munge, and Titus Naikuni.

Other members of the dream team were PSs Professor Migot Adhola, Wilfred Mwangi and Investment Secretary Mwangazi Mwachofi.

This created excitement and a buzz in the then moribund and dysfunctional civil service.

Leakey gave the civil service a shot in the arm and Moi some breathing space."

In #Ghana, the official inflation rate has surged to a 21-year high of 37.2%/yr. That's WRONG. Today, I accurately measure inflation in Ghana at 113.56%/yr, a rate more than 3x the phony official rate. To rein in inflation, Ghana must install a currency board, NOW!

POKUASI2:
there's history to this.
Ghanaians are naturally greedy and pray for times like these so they can sell their wares anyway they like.
60 percent of the hyperinflation is economic and 40 percent is greed.
This is basically the reason they wanted Nigerians out of the business space.
We know what the realities are no matter how they try cooking the data.
A loaf of bread is now 18 cedis from from 8 cedis early this year and they say inflation is 37 percent.

You cant stop diarhoea by sealing the anus. The shiet will hit the fan soon. I never trusted their president - talk too much - does nothing.
POKUASI2:
early this year, you could buy 2 cedis rice without meat but now, you need 5 cedis yet they claim inflation is 37.
A ball of banku early this year was 0.50 cedis..
Now it's 2 cedis yet inflation is 37 percent.
One egg early this year was 0.50 cedis.. now is 2.50 cedis yet inflation is 37 percent.
How do you lie to your own citizens going through difficult moments.
Their women can't even buy sanitary napkins anymore cos it's 15 cedis now from 6 cedis early this year.

Unless IMF deal comes; the panic and the profiteering will lead to economic collapse. Ghana badly need IMF bailout.
POKUASI2:
I hate to admit this right here but sadly, it's nothing but the truth.
The new trend now is, they're hoarding household essentials so they'll increase the price – late next month or early December.
Ghana internally has collapsed.

Is IEA Kenya an intern ?

You don't like to read, if you did, you would have seen the 24%..

Those aid are govt to govt funding and not NGOs funds so they come exclusive of the fundings NGOs sort after considering the fact that Kenya has the largest number of NGOs on the continent

Last year you received 4 billion dollars in direct funding to govt programs
PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp2018: 1:19pm On Oct 27, 2022
I dont see OECD - I see an intern who wrote 3B dollar of Aid. I'd love to see 24% from OECD. I dont dispute that Kenya as country receives a lot of AID- but Aid that goes into gov budget in kenya is almost 0.001%. The Aid that goes into NGOs - yes that is a lot. The UN by mere presence in Nairobi alone contribute 1B dollars.

Ruto is first serious president in Kenya history - and the journey to transform kenya just began.

Amongst the first business will be building of 800 dams & planting 5 billion trees to deal with incessant drought, increasing saving & pensions by almost 5 times, ensuring everyone in kenya has primary health insurances, increase gov revenue by 30% to 30B dollars, reducing borrowing to bare minimum & balancing the budget, turning Kibera slum into Kenya biggest real estate with total of 2 million houses to be built in five years all over kenya, transforming agriculture by investing in input subsidies and allowing GMOs, expanding trade by opening up to EAC & africa free trade area.

Leading indicators we already beat Nigeria.
Where you see problems - we see opportunities.
That is why DRC and Ethiopia are game changes.
We turn barren kenya into opportunities.
We have a proven model.
samorobo:
DRC is a shiithole with about $50bn and zero sustainable industry. To put it straight it’s a failed state. Ethiopia with her problems is almost close to DRC,coupled either about $100bn for 120m people and recent crisis here and there.

There is no future in those places, heck you would loose your shirt before your first branch goes up.

Again, beat Nigeria before coming to brag about your visionary future. Getting on that argument with you is a waste of anybody time. You know why? Cos it’s doesn’t exist. Wake up already and stop acting a fool.

Let see if you will make right choice this election after electing a goat Buhari.
We dont need Iweala because we got them in 1960s.
We send the likes of Obama father to Harvard in 1960s.
They came and headed Kenya Treasury taking over from Oxford trained white folks.
We did Africa first airlift to America in late 50s and early 60s thanks to legendary Thomas Odhiambo Mboya.
He took brilliant kids to US ivy league.
They came from Harvard, Stanford, name them and run gov.
We have managed to stay above the fray despite having no minerals because we recognise and reward brains.
Nigeria after military - many of your folks went abroad...got good education.
They are stuck in diaspora.
Bring them back...let them help you fix the country.
OIL will never do it...brains will do it.
Okonjo brains alone saved you 36 Billion dollars in debt forgiveness..
She didnt mine any oil..she mined her brains.
obaaderemi:
Before Buhari there was Obasanjo and Jonathan. And after Buhari there's going to be another southerner, so I don't know what you are saying. We would have lent you iweala but she is heading the wto right now. Soludo would have been a better choice but he is right now a state governor.

So, you are pretty much on your own with your miniscule banking industry.

Nobody in world will listen to a fool like Soludo - Okonjo MIT & Harvard 1st grade brain is sitting pretty in WTO - 1st woman to do so. Soludo is typical Nigeria con.

And I couldnt agree more with Okonjo Iweala... he could well be describing Obabaoon here and typical nigerian.

Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala, apparently livid, described the former CBN governor as “an embittered loser in the Nigerian political space” who is “so derailed” to “commit intellectual harakiri by deliberately misquoting economic facts and maliciously turning statistics on their head to justify a hatchet job”.

“Soludo has shamelessly pandered to so many past leaders that Nigerians are asking one more time – what position is Soludo gunning for now?” she asked.

“There is definitely an issue of character with Prof. Charles Soludo and his desperate search for power and relevance in Nigeria. Nigerians should therefore beware of so-called intellectuals without character and wisdom because this combination is fatal,” she adde

GeneralDae:
Okonjo Iweala didn't do that.
PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp2018: 8:46pm On Oct 26, 2022
Okay let do this.
Obasanjo did it.
Okonjo did it
Soludo did it.

You wont be such a zoo.
Problem -> Your northern goats and sheep and cows rule you.

obaaderemi:
Zenith our number 1 bank never merged with any bank. It has always and will always be bigger than any kenyan

PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp2018: 8:23pm On Oct 26, 2022
You're almost 30yrs late. East Africa is an Africa success story that began about 20-30yrs ago. Sustainable fast growth not financed by minerals. It already caught up with West Africa (Minerals), has overtaken Central Africa (Minerals), and is on heels of Southern Africa(Mostly Minerals). North Africa is far ahead.

If you bring DRC (100M) plus Ethiopia(120M); you already have Nigeria before you add the traditional East Africa. That is why Kenya banks have the ability to beat your Banks 2-3 times.

DRC congo already has given them almost equal footing to Nigerians banks. Next is Ethiopia. That should take them closer to South Africa.

samorobo:
There is no money in east and Central Africa. How many times do you need to be told that. This regions are the poorest and the armpits of Africa. You would loose your shirt before your first anniversary there.

However when that happen(will never happen) come and hit us let’s us celebrate you, otherwise is just you romanticizing a wet dream.

Stop troubling this thread with your day dreams and aspiring vision. Make it happen first.

And just wait for one more year --> Ethiopia is about to happen.

The same week Abiy Ahmed announced that his cabinet has agreed to a draft proposal that would open Ethiopia’s banking sector to foreign investors.

--> These gaps in lending, financial inclusion and foreign investment are also what has made Ethiopia’s banking sector attractive to foreign investors. Kenyan banks, for example, have had their sights on the Ethiopian market for years. Two of Kenya’s largest banks, KCB Bank and Equity Bank, already have representative offices in the country that carry out trade or export finance activities while waiting for the Ethiopian government to implement reforms to allow them to do more.
