I posted video with more than 100 neigherhoods - it better that way. Learn to be efficient. Just post a video of Joburg and we get done with it. You already admit to having lost the skyscrappers and tall building challenge...and we are not in 2030 - when Nairobi will be showing Joburg dust.
AfriqueDuZuid: Johannesburg and Pretoria were never one thing
Wait a minute so I asked you to post 100 Nairobi neiborhoods, you dodged
I also asked you to post Google maps footage of Pretoria and I'll post Nairobi, you still dodged
Johannesburg is a metro Ekuruleni is a metro with its own cities Nelspruit is a metro Capetown is a metro Durban is a metro Port Elizabeth is a metro Bloemfontein is a metro East London is a metro ..
I rather listen to this girl. Kenya private sector is thriving. Salaries are competing with developed world. Nobody want to emigrate in such numbers as Ghana.
When occupancy ratio is below 10% then you should know that it is a yahoo scheme that has been built because of lack of opportunities...
Unfortunately, Ghana does not lack a private sector and the private sector is the engine of growth of the Ghanaian economy and the largest employer. And that is why a lot of Ghanaians are out of the poverty gap.
I hope you private sector grows so that you guys can get out of poverty
Only a communist would tell random onliners what to do. Manage your time and yourself. We are here to discuss African countries...and understand the issues and the opportunities if any - and mostly to help West African Zoo realize how badly behind they are...
Soweto is not developed. It's just a black neighborhood - a relic of apartheid. You were kept so far from Joburg - where you need to get jobs. There are no industries or offices to employ anybody - just abandoned pits of gold mines.
AfriqueDuZuid: Lol incase you not aware someone living in Soweto does not need to go Johannesburg.
Soweto has its own industries, industrial sites, shopping, etc
Infact Marwa was in Soweto I think you also saw how developed it is.
You dont tell me what to do - communist. I am free man. I spend my time anyhow I choose to. You spend acres here writing about communism...nobody bothered with your madness.
theTranscriber: with all that you're still struggling to bring up lies to argue with a Ghana that gives no fucck about you on a Nigerian forum!
Kenya is in no place to talk yeah to Nigeria
reduce your time on Nairaland go see your Maasai warriors and lions
There is no expansion - just 3-4 main cities built by the Boer - that ANC has been unable to spur a similar growth. Meanwhile your peers like Thailand, Indonseia...upper middle income countries..are building so many cities.
AfriqueDuZuid: Again South African cities are well spread out. People don't mass migrate to 1 city.
I think you making a mistake by looking at old Johannesburg, Johannesburg has expanded north it is not a skyscrapper race. But development race
If you pick one random year - you'll get random results - if you analyaze the last 20 yrs - there is no doubt Kenya would come the very top of many East Africa countries.
Take Tanzania for example - There are more than 500 kenya companies. In Uganda more than 350 companies. Name any of these countries...kenya companies are gazillion.
We have been investing in them since late 90s.
AfriqueDuZuid: China, UK, US are Tanzania biggest investors
According to statistics from Rwanda Development Board (RDB), the main investing countries are Portugal, the UK, India and the UAE.
China is Ethiopia largest investor by a margin
South Africa, Belgium and China are the country's main investors in DRC
When they stop building - know there is real estate glut - for office spaces - but if they are still building - there is still demand for office space - a sign of thriving private sector.
Thriving private sector lift many out of poverty. Public sector provide the safety net for the poor.
If like Ghana - you lack a private sector - just public sector and informal sector - everyone will want to emigrate abroad to get a decent job.
Even assuming that was true - I personally dont see a big problem. Of course Kenya has one large african indigenous private sector. When you're under military dictatorship - kenya companies were growing.
As of now - there is local participation requirements - for many sectors.
Just30: when all the large companies in important sectors of your economy are owned by foreigners, then they basically run your economy.
The Chinese who told you that it doesn't matter the colour of the Cat are the same Chinese who made sure that foreign companies could not enter their economy unless they partner with Chinese companies while those Chinese companies own the largest share of the corporation..
Guess what, FDI are going into corporation ventures of Ghanaian own companies.
100 flours building is manifestation of moving people out of poverty. It the simplest demonstration of an economy firing on all it's cylinders. How is the slum dweller like the dude here going to make it when Soweto to Joburg -where he can find work - is such a big distance.
Dont compare yourself with dead Europe - that developed long time ago - when building technology had not advanced.
If you cities sprawl - how will you manage it?
Just30: unfortunately, building 100 floors buildings is not a sign of development and progress... But moving people put of slums and poverty is the real sign of development and progress...
For last 10yrs - you have lacked development - economy been dead - and your sour grapes are just about starting. Next you will tell us like Ghana about earthquake? Excuses are starting soon.
You're still a poor country. You should be building 100 floors tall building if you had kept momentum like Thailand or Indonseia or Veitnam or Turkey,
Your country if ANC had not messed up would be like this
We have no problem with legal chinese and indian companies thriving in kenya - paying taxes and creating employment - we would definitely send away the Shaolin gang illegally minning your gold and destroying your water sources with mercury within a single day.
Just30: The Nigerians will best answer that question for you ....
Meanwhile your country will keep being dominated by India and China while you call their companies yours
Skyscrapers are not eaten - they are sign of thriving formal sector - while Ghana you're one huge flea market.
Wizzzzmike: Lol dude what the fvck are you talking about lol... FYI... I never went to a government school and the government ended the double shift over 10 years ago...
No one eat skyscrapers but it's shocking that with ur all skyscrapers more than 50 percent of you ppl including you sleep in slums , And more than 40 percent of ur ppl are starving than us
Show me Nigerian companies that have invested in Francophone countries - start with all it's immediate neighberhours - Benin, Niger, Chad, Camerooun.
They have to run to Ghana - past Togo - Accra - because they cannot beat the France. Your are dominated by 1) South Africa and 2) Britain - and Nigeria.
Kenya bank is soon going to be DRC Congo biggest - biggest francophone country - in world maybe - and then we take over rest of Francophone from France - and South Africa orphans like Ghana.
Just30: Again you don't know anything about West Africa
Nigeria doesn't dominate any country except Ghana. The rest of Francophone West Africa are dominated by France. Kenya has absolute dominance in East Africa - 5 countries - plus few interests all over Africa.
South Africa right now have given up on Sub-Sahara. They cannot hack it - they are running back home. Guess who will fill the void - the nimble Kenyan firms.
AfriqueDuZuid: I believe kenya is few notches above Ethiopia by means of GDP, Military Ethiopia is ahead, kenya is not biggest investor in East and Central Africa
You see Nigeria dominates in west Africa, Ghana knows it everyone knows it I know it. I'm not taking anything away from any west African country
Of course, Why would I make statement without checking. Intra- Africa investment - South Africa, Kenya, Egypt and Nigeria (Only in banking/Dangote).
Name any sector - and I can give you 10 companies with regional subsidiaries - Kenya basically dominate the 5 East Africa countries, with smattering of investment elsewhere.
Kenya is rwanda biggest investor - it's not just one random big investment - it investment across all sectors. In Sub-Sahara the quickly retreating South Africa is the only competition.
Abohboy: Yemi Kale himself said that he refused to cook data for the government even when threatened with imprisonment so the chance of his figures beiing cooked are very low as for our budget relax that problem will be solved soon more then 95% of Nigerians don't pay income tax when they start to pay it our budget would likely increase by 200% in less then a year and Kenya isn't as good as you claim stop hyping up your country a Nigerian company bought up your premier technology innovation hub and also set up the first innovation hub in Rwanda if Kenya was so big across all sectors in these areas why would Nigerian companies be able to have such an impact?
You see I can't about you I don't know you I'm not even interested. However, I can speak about Nairobi I know it exist, I can get footage, stats about it
Nope I don't have Google map of your place, I don't know you... Let's stick to what's real like Google maps of Nairobi
You cannot do anything without security. People are trying to stay alive from boko haram, kidnappers, islamist and criminals - and all you can think about is giving them jobs and education.
Gov 1st role is security.
Once you fix security - guns are silent - you can deal with South East secessionist problems - those are mostly economic - oil linked mess.
But first sort out the boko harams, fulani herdsmen killing farmers, islamist kidnapping christians, kidnappers and criminals running amok in towns.
Abohboy: If you don't kill the root the problem will keep on coming back the root of the problem is lack of education and jobs solve those problems and insecurity dies this is obvious to anybody why do you think there's no insurgency in the south at the same level in the north? Most were educated and had jobs although things are changing now. If we're able to create jobs for all then we'll be able to move forward.
If somebody serious revise Yemi Kale crap of statistics - you'll be down and out. Your country already has less budget than Kenya. In terms of real clout - Kenya dominate East and soon Central Africa - South Africa dominate Southern Africas - and Nigeria well can only dominate West Africa - coz that is one big zoo.
Abohboy: Nigeria will always remain on those lists and soon we'll be topping them or we'll be competing with Egypt this next election in 2023 is going to be crazy for Nigeria we've normally been a two party state but it seems that the current political breakdown is about to be shaken up but all I know is whoever is voted into power in Nigeria will be a decent leader because the people are tired.
