Food / Re: Mr Biggs' Fried Rice by ryu11(m): 3:00pm On Oct 24, 2007
Funny. I just saw this as a sticky. Been awhile since I logged on, and even ages since I posted this thread. The Mr Biggs in question is the one in PH. somewhere around artillery junction I think. don't know the name of the street.

Till Tommie Mr Biggs cooked (in the history books now) the best fried rice i have eaten "outside home". I remember it had:

1. green peas
2. sweet corn
3. diced carrots
4. shredded beef
5. spicy curry
6. liver bits
7. broccoli

and of course rice in the pack. I'm still yet to eat, fired rice that tasty out. Their chicken is still the most tender and well prepared.

By they I mean a few (very few) outlets.

this will drastically  reduce the number of participants next time

\

You must be joking. You don't know Nigerians. They will risk it. With the level of unemployment and hardship in the country thats what one gets.

On my part, It is apparent that the show is poorly organized. NB ought to have had life guards and a medical team on ground in case of such emergencies.
Business / Re: ATMs: Automated Thieving Machines? by ryu11(m): 7:36pm On Aug 04, 2007
The most amazing thing happened to me somedays ago. I've previously heard of the ATM scam, so what i do is; I request for a mini statement before I ask to withdraw. That way if theres a problem with network etc my money doesn't get touched. last week I forgot to do so. I tried to collect 10K only for the atm to print a message: Your financial insititution is unavailable. I printed a receipt. later`i succeeded in collecting the money, but i c'dn't get a ministatement.

I did get a ministatement 2 days later and discovered my account was debited that initial 10k, only to be later credited the same amount. I can hardly blive it. Thought to share it. It's not only when something is bad that we should share.

Peace. cheesy

Celebrities / Re: Omotola On New Billboard Of Hollandia Yougurt by ryu11(m): 8:58am On Aug 03, 2007
People.

i've read the thread, see how u r arguing about someone who is out there making cool cash for herself, even by just a pose for a camera (big hips, ikebe n all).

by african beauty standards she's got it all. whoever said her hips are too large for her frame is watching too much fashion tv and reading too many glossy fashion mags. please get real. The woman is fine.

however, the billboard in question has been glamorized - the picture has been electronically filtered. just like those of the girls you see on the TURA billboard.

As you can see in the raw photos above, she doesn't have that silky smooth velvety skin.

peace.

Nope still searching for Mrs right-in-the future. But you can be sure she'd be a better cook than they have at those fast food joints. And outstanding in maintenance too.
Food / Mr Biggs' Fried Rice by ryu11(m): 1:58pm On Jul 31, 2007
Dear NL brodas and sistas.

I just love Mr biggs fried rice. Pity, some days go I went there with the intent of enjoying a Steaming hot pack (they don't serve in plates) with chicken like i ususally do. I say Pity because I wanted to wash my hands before eating only to be asked to use the ladies room as the gents was out of order.

When I got into the cherished ladies, it was in a state of chaos (not order). The tap was running , thank Heavens. there was no soap and the place was slightly less than filthy. I came out and alerted a waitress (the one that permitted me to use the ladies) on the absence of soap, after stories she gave me detergent (not Omo, Ariel not to talk of Persil). However to cut the long story short. What happened to the Mr Biggs that was a Standard? I can remember a few years back, on a trip i ate something that didn't settle with my system. I got down from the bus in that strange town, entered a bike and told the man to take me to the closest Mr Biggs. Their restroom was a Blessing to my life that day.

This is just one instance. Why is it that we Nigerians have a poor maintainace culture?

Celebrities / Re: Wwe Chris Benoit Dead by ryu11(m): 11:37am On Jul 03, 2007
"I used to watch him sometimes and just shake my head. I would think, 'Oh my God, what in the world is he doing? Why is he doing that?"' Laurinaitis said. "I saw quite a few guys go down that path."

Now, they're all gone.

Benoit. Guerrero. Hawk.

Martel. Bigelow. Awesome.

Not to mention Curt "Mr. Perfect" Hennig, Big Boss Man, Hercules, Crash Holly, Davey Boy Smith, Miss Elizabeth, Terry Gordy, "Gentleman" Chris Adams, Yokozuna, "Ravishing" Rick Rude, Owen Hart, Louie Spiccoli, Brian Pillman, Eddie Gilbert, Buzz Sawyer, "Quick Draw" Rick McGraw, Gino Hernandez and much of the Von Erich clan.

All dead before they were 50 -- and that's just a sampling of an ever-growing list.

It doesn't take someone who can distinguish between a full nelson and a sleeper hold to know that's far too many wrestlers dying far too young.

"It's gotten to the point that just about every show in the country is starting with a ten-bell salute," said DeGaris, the professor and wrestler, referring to the traditional farewell to a fallen competitor. "You kind of look at some of the old pictures, and you're the last man standing."

FINAL FANTASY VII ADVENT CHILDREN

Pluses: Super cool movie. Animated though. Great fight scenes. Great storyline. awesome graphics.

Minuses: Japanese Language, subtitled in English. ( I doubt you can trust the translation), with so much action though who needs the lines.

- must watch, Did you enjoy Gladiators? It's a more action patched version. More fights scenes. Great combat choreography, surreal graphics. Cool story line, though pretty limited (everything finishes before you know it). Great bodies two (six and eight packs). soundtrack is similar to that of gladiators too.

Ghost Rider
Didn't finish watching it. But after 30 mins into the movie I'll certify it a great way to spend 2hours during the weekend.

I find that it is very hard to get a thread going with regular input, but hey i am here anyway

Yeah, thats the way it is. Probably dew to the thread variety on NL. There are so many. The most controversial ones get the most attention. It just like it is with the news. However there are several boards and child boards. Just roam. Betterstill click on recent posts on a regular basis so see the most current (hottest) blogs for that moment.

NIGERIA is one hell of a big country

Don't be too sure. If the Man has many friends and family that she (d ex) knows, Nigeria won't be big enuf to hide in. unless they (d new) couple move to a rural area.

Hi Seun,

Great to see you here. More grease to your elbow man. keep up the great work. You given great attention to small details on NL. I won't start mentioning, there are just too many.

Yoruba people don't know for sure whether Oduduwa came from Egypt. That's exactly the same way it feels.

I still wonder how it feels.

I perused you journal. pretty interesting stuff.
