So how come India has prospered more than Naija if Nigerians are more hard working?
Nigerians are too busy claiming success by tribal association to be bothered about these kinds of achievements.

I recently checked a few websites of some universities in Nigeria (including UI, UNN, UNILAG, UNIBEN, UMAID, UNISOK, ESUST etc), lets park the fact that all the websites reflect a representation of fucktardism (just see UMAID's website for example), I found out that virtually all of the Deans have to be from the tribe of the location the university is located.

If you are not from the "our own" tribe, at best, your career peak if you are lucky is usually "Head of Department".

These are suppose to be the beacon of enlightenment of the nation and that is how myopic and parochial even the so-called academic elites are. There is no culture of merit in UNIVERSITIES!

A nation of pure fucktards! How are they going to be innovative when even their academics are fucktards?

Then you see their moronic products like Scun coming on NL to be ethnic warriors!

rigormortis: based on your assertions which are devoid of sentiments I think I lean slightly towards your superior arguments in most areas of your post

yes its quite true humans will be humans with an innately evil mind and winner takes all schemes we accuse the Indians of.....yes I can say

I have see a new side to this argument.

but one last thing you failed to address though, a foreigner maltreating a citizen......I tell you in other countries they take it serious, if we don't

then even the business you want to set up, Chinese and other Asians will come here, offer a cheaper and inferior version of what you have and

flood the market and take the initiative from you albeit maltreating you and yours in your home...I think its the deepest insult one can take.

ultimately from your post you are trying make people see that they are responsible for their destiny and should stop blaming Indians or whoever

which is true and sound argument, but then for the sake of those who are weaker, good treatment of local labour by is worth fighting for, cos what they do to others might one day be extended to you, I don't care if the Indians fvkc naija girls and don't pay or all the other BS....but treatment of indigenous staff should comply with world standards....whether the people know their right or not
Well, that is really not the foreigner's problem, neither is it primarily the foreigner's fault.

That is the citizens' problem and the government's fault.

As long as Nigerians continue voting for fucktards like Jonathan and defending moronic leaders like Oduah when they do bad because "she is our own", then they would continue having useless leaders that pile up their problems.

Indians don't dare come to the UK and try such. Even the locals don't dare do such to their fellow locals in the UK.

https://www.nairaland.com/1410261/tear-burn-nigerian-passport-once/11#17678247

Let them continue voting for FRESH AIR and saying Igbo this, Yoruba that, Hausa there, Bini go, Ijaw no come!

The youths can go out to protest that UNILAG's name is changed to MAULAG, but cannot be bothered to protest that legislators refuse to make it public how much they earn above the amount stated by the RMAFC.

They will suffer for it. I just pity the minority quality and sane people in Nigeria who, through no fault of their own, are accidentally countrymen with these fucktards and end up being collateral damage.

Fucktards like Jonathan cannot win Local Council elections in the UK, but in Nigeria, he is PRESIDENT!

rigormortis: hmnnnn very true I must say.....................

I never thought about that angle

but it still doesn't excuse cruelty
We are as cruel as they are, if not more cruel than them.

Is it not the same Nigeria that people give you a job only if you sleep with them or if you let them take a cut of your pay?

Fucktards are usually wicked souls. They just do not have the faculty to think critically and make decisions. Examples are people like Scun. It is one of the reasons I have deep hatred for fucktards. All they know is "Us vs Them".

A lot of the fucktards here insulting Indians are not different from the people they insult. All that is giving them "principles" is "our own". They are no better. Cretinous fucktards that would discriminate on other ethnic groups and if the chance is there even run amok and commit genocide.

As for a different angle, I sure am developing an avant garde approach to training my future kids, it definitely would be the traditional African way OR the Western way. I will be bring the best approaches from around the world and fusing them into exemplary genius nurturing!

Nigerians are one-way traffic thinkers.

rigormortis: well said,

but the topic still remains true
If Nigerians can stop spending thousands of pounds/dollars to go abroad to study in many irreputable places, only to go back to Nigeria to beg for a job, and they instead put their money in a business, then they would not need to work for Indians for peanuts.

We need to start creating a generation that thinks about creating businesses, not seeking jobs. A generation that is willing to start from scratch and patiently make it, instead of looking for instant jackpot.

AjanleKoko: Hmm.
Pardon me, I can't even remember in what context I made that comment.
But as per my generalization. Well, yes, I used to be a lazy worker, up to a point. 6-10 years ago, my level of social awareness was probably such that I would join in the condemnation of Indian or Lebanese or Chinese workers and employers. Like most of you, I preferred to focus on the specks in their eyes, rather than the beam in mine.

But after progressing up the corporate ladder and making a foray into entrepreneurship, I can say with all sense of responsibility: Nigerians are lazy workers, 99% of the time.

We are very entitled, have little or no passion for anything we do, and are totally fixated on monetary gain. Most times we don't even pay attention to simple rote responsibilities, but would rather enforce our negative views and attitudes in the workplace.
The worst of it is, we are mostly cowards, and would not stand up for each other, or what we believe in, when we are working for these Indians or Lebanese, or Chinese people. All we do is skulk into corners and complain.
Nigerians complain about every type of boss, foreigner or Nigerian. I have come to believe that a Nigerian worker would only be happy if you paid a very good wage and asked very little of him by way of responsibility. If possible don't ask for anything, just pay them.
I will be generous and refrain from saying "I am yet to see a Nigerian that" in my following state.

"I can't recall seeing many Nigerians in Nigeria who I or someone else tell what they do and they ask 'what is the job like', 'how does it function' or 'is it interesting'. What they want to know is 'how much do you make', 'how much can you make from the job' and 'what will you be making in future if you have experience in the job'."

Only God knows how many countless graduates from Nigeria that I see who are all looking to do a Masters in Petroleum Engineering.

I go dey wonder: Na so una love petrol reach? Una get passion for seeing Oyel?

Africans complain of discrimination in Mumbai, India
Sheeba Rani has been ostracised by many friends and relatives for marrying Nigerian Sambo Davis
Africans staying in and around India's commercial capital, Mumbai (Bombay), complain of indiscriminate racism and constant police harassment, reports the BBC's Zubair Ahmed.

Nigerian Sambo Davis is married to an Indian woman and lives in Mumbai.

All his documents are valid, but he was arrested by the police recently on suspicion of being a drug dealer.

He and 30 other black Africans were detained for hours before they were let off with an apology.

But the following day, Mr Davis said that he was shocked to read in local newspapers that they were "arrested for drug peddling".

"The police treat us Africans like dogs," he says.

Mr Davis claims he often faces discrimination when he goes to restaurants or when he tries to rent an apartment in gated middle-class communities.

Ikeorah Junior

Nigerian cafe owner in Mumbai
But he is nevertheless one of the lucky ones. He found a decent flat to rent, thanks to his Indian wife.

But his fellow countrymen, he says, still face discrimination: "When they go to rent flats in a normal building they are told - 'you are a black man, you are Nigerian, and you are not wanted'. This is racism."

'Hide and seek'

There is no official data on how many Africans live in Mumbai, but since India's economic progress gathered momentum in recent years, many have come to work in and around the city. Unofficial estimates put their numbers at more than 5,000.

Most of them are engaged in exporting garments to Nigeria and other African countries.

Many others are students, enrolled in the region's prestigious educational institutions.

But there are also hundreds of Africans, mostly Nigerians, who live as illegal immigrants in India. They have either "lost" their passports or their visas have "expired".

Every day, these people play hide-and-seek with the police - if they are caught, they are sent to jail.

Ikeorah Junior from Lagos runs a cafe for Africans in a crowded market on Mumbai's Mohammed Ali Road.

"I don't understand why they [police] have to go from house to house to arrest the people who don't have their papers. If they don't have papers, then deport them, don't put them in jail," he says.

Ahmed Javed, who is in charge of maintaining law and order in the state of Maharashtra, says it is not that simple: "In most cases they have no passports. So, unless their nationalities are determined, they cannot be deported."

Dozens of Africans have taken up residence on Mira Road, a dusty, nondescript town just outside Mumbai.

One "illegal immigrant" there asked me for money, claiming he had not eaten for two days.

He looked worried and told me that he had been approached by drug dealers to work for them.

Then lock them up indefinitely until they "remember" where their passport is or what country they are from.

Don't say Sagamite did not warn you.

You will likely end up with unruly kids. Many policy-makers in the UK know the root of the problem and are hinting it (i.e. lack of respect among young people), but they don't have the guts to do what is required to reverse it because the solution is not politically FUNKY.

Continue copying laws based on funkinisation and see the results you will get.

These are only the ones reported for beating their parents. Don't even think of many that are not reported because their parents are too embarrassed, they don't do it frequently enough for their parents to bother or the parents are too scared of them. Talkless of adding millions more that the parents have just given up trying to control them because they know this would happen.

Lets not even talk about the cost of these prosecutions and punitive judgements. Waste of money all because of being funky.

The children who beat up their own mums and dads: More than 50 kids under 13 have been prosecuted for attacking their parents in London alone

- Over 800 children between 14 and 17 prosecuted for domestic violence
- Alison Saunders, who will soon become Director of Public Prosecutions, warns the violence epidemic has spread beyond deprived families
- Blames rise in attacks on a lack of respect among young people

Britain's incoming chief prosecutor today warned of an epidemic of children attacking their parents, as it emerged that more than 100 children aged 13 or younger were prosecuted for domestic violence last year.

Alison Saunders stressed that domestic violence does not just involve partners fighting each other, but can see teenagers lashing out against their mothers and fathers.

In 2012-13, more than 2,100 teenagers between the ages of 14 and 17 were prosecuted for domestic abuse, underlining the scale of the largely hidden problem.

An 11-year-old boy in London was this year convicted of assault by beating after a court heard that he had punched his mother and thrown a drawer at her while fighting about a phone bill.

A boy of 13 was convicted when his mother refused to give him money to spend on drugs and he threatened her with a knife.

Over the past three years, a total of 8,395 children have been prosecuted for domestic abuse, which includes violence against parents, siblings and girlfriends or boyfriends, according to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Ms Saunders, who is currently London's chief crown prosecutor but will start work as the new Director of Public Prosecutions next month, blamed the extraordinary amount of abuse carried out by young people on their lack of respect for authority.

She also said that despite the impression of such incidents as being hallmarks of deprivation, they are in fact prevalent in all classes of society.

'One thing about domestic violence is that it is not just in dysfunctional families or just the ones on benefits, it goes across everyone,' she told the Evening Standard.

'Some of those we see are from really badly dysfunctional families, but you also have middle-class and upper-class people involved.

'There is a lack of respect and a lack of regard for authority. When I was growing up the thought of striking a parent was beyond the pale.

'Is that peers, is that TV, is that the general environment in the house? You are not born to commit domestic violence. It's really about nurturing.'

Ms Saunders added that children who are violent towards their family could be encouraged to commit domestic abuse as adults.

'If you are starting off hitting your mum then there is not a lot between that and hitting your girlfriend, wife, partner when you are older,' she said.

This year the Home Office ruled that cases involving 16- and 17-year-olds could be included in domestic violence statistics amidst fears that such cases had previously been wrongly ignored.

Ugosample: There are many ignorant people on this thread. For those who haven't been to India, know today that they are workaholics. Even the children are not left out. I know a garment shop in which these children work 75 hours every week and are paid $20 for the same period. And this is serious work,no arbitrary breaks. Anyone saying that a sizeable % of Nigerians, especially the youth ain't lazy, that person is delusional.

I learnt this from an older friend a long time ago when i was just 19 years old after i have heard my heart torn and trampled upon by a girl in 200level.
Every man born of a woman would do well to have a grasp of these salient truths.
Its principles are ageless and fool-proof.
Let me reiterate that there's nothing like a 50-50 relationship anywhere.
It's a concept totally absent in nature.

Even in business the notion of "50-50" is not very true.
Someone in that business partnership must hold the aces though unofficially.
Women are emotional beings,Men are logical entities.
As a result of this, nature has placed the control of a relationship in the hands of the man.
DO NOT LOSE CONTROL.
Well said!

Ko ni daa fun 50-50! (E no go better for 50-50)

Niger Delta people's lives are being destroyed permanently without any protection by the people looting them.

When BP spilled in the US, we all saw how the US government ensured they paid. There was rapid compensation and clean up money set aside.

Hear that the Agip official said "He also said that Eni paid all compensation due to local communities, according to Nigerian law". That according to Nigeria law is the caveat. They paid peanuts and they don't need to clean up after over 50 years of destroying people's environment. Just bribe.

Ask them a simple question.

Ask them to name ONE classy Nigerian restaurant in the UK and watch them struggle.

There are more than 60 Nigerian restaurants in London alone, maybe 100 across the UK. None shows any sign of having business acumen or a brain of progress and class. All the owners want to do is to ride Jeep and go to Church to say "Jesus did it for me" until years down the line, their business declines.

They think customer service is a favour they are doing their customers.

Italiano1: While you probably have a point about the work ethic of "some" Nigerians, I think it is inappropriate to use Nairaland as a veritable measure of the quality of reasoning of the average Nigerian.

I think the poor work ethic by some Nigerians is a symptom of the business environment in the country- which principally consists of nepotism, cronyism and an awkward reward system. For e.g. Nigerians that emigrate to other countries like the US, UK, Canada work very hard, some of them have 2 jobs to make ends meet. Essentially, I dont think that Nigerians are "generally" lazy or have a lower IQ as you seemingly suggest but some of them just display the characteristics that the environment permits.
Why not?

You don't think that using such is even generous and optimistic?

Have you ever used a Nigerian business based in these Western countries?
