OP, let us not make blind comparisons.

Can we have the cost analysis of the two projects, when they were awarded and what exactly was awarded, the contract details, and the contractor handling the projects so that we can be well informed?

Besides, Tokumbo Abiru has been in the Senate since 2020, while Tony Nwoye just went to the Senate last June.
Nwoye was elected into the House of Reps in 2015.

Sageb, to add to it, I just dug up a blog post which brushed on the Maitama, Uyo debacle from 2014 (although it didn't accuse her of anything specific but we knew the inside story):

https://theinknewspaper..com/2014/05/life-in-maitama-after-unoma-akpabios.html?m=1

I mentally archive these instances and lexically document them for posterity sake. We know who she is. It didn't start today.
it corroborates what you post earlier.

Dude, shush it! I'm Ibibio. Unoma Akpabio, like most Igbo first ladies, is notorious for that. It almost cost her husband a second term as Governor when Akwa Ibom people revolted against her. She toned down in 2015 but has begun again.

We'd never forget how she tried to flood Akwa Ibom State Civil Service with Igbos and the prejudice she displayed at Maitama, Uyo. No Igbo state would tolerate it.

Her antics has put a question mark on the ambition of politicians with Igbo wives in the state. Ask anyone versed in Akwa Ibom politics to confirm this.

You are a million and one time CORRECT.
If you are from Akwa Ibom & you happen to meet any person from Akwa Ibom in any position of authority, whether in government office (political office), Banking sector, Corporate organisation even in business world, I will advice that you better mind yourself and carry on with your life as though you are not from that State. Those people are wicked when it comes to helping their people, no, never they will never help. Couple with their inferiority complex the moment they find themselves in the midst of other tribes.
Akwa Ibom person in a government or a public office will tell you to speak English with him, that he or she does not understand you if you were trying to communicate with the person in the local dialect.
Those people are so pathetic gush!

CharleyBright:
Make una channel una energies to blaming Godswill Akpabio.
And quote me very well, Akwa Ibom politicians and govt official are very selfish and uncaring about their own indigenes. When an Akwa Ibom get any political or govt office, he does not help people from his state. He would rather block them and even help someone from another state. It is their usual only me go enjoy or shine to be village champion mentality. That is their nature.
If you are from Akwa Ibom, don't bother to go to Akwa Ibom man to seek for help for employment, there is 95% chances that he won't help you.
So if Akpabio is Senate president, and his wife is using his office to get help for Ibos, pls blame the useless Akpabio and his Akwa Ibom selfish mentality.

Politics › Re: Senate Says It Is Ready To Amend Nigerian Constitution To Okay State Police by sageb: 12:00pm On Feb 18, 2024
DissTroy:
I'm not exactly sold on the state police. In states where there's a lot of scrutiny and are somewhat liberal, the media and civil societies groups would checkmate excesses.

But what happens to states with historically autocratic governors where their word is law and opposition hunted to death? State police would be used as a ruse to hound dissenting voices.

Except there's a mechanism which let's the central powers checkmate state police. Imagine what a Yahaya Bello would have done with state police... Just imagine.
Exactly, some Power drunk Governors will abuse the right/privilege.
Remember the likes of Sylva, Bello, etc.

Because “church” is in all of us. You don’t need to go to those 4 walls or giant buildings to have church. You can commune with God for FREE. He doesn’t have a talk to me for $$, he doesn’t have a I’ll grant your prayers or blessings for $$. This is ALL free, HOPE IS FREE!!
The sooner y’all realize this, the better you’ll be in life.
Have your own personal relationship with God, at home, at the grocery store, in your car, wherever you may be. And keep it moving.
& most important. Keep your money in your pocket and use it to build your life!!! Not to buy private jets and mansions for someone who is the exact same as you. They just learned to finesse and scam to get the lifestyle they want to live.
Too many sheep around.

A friend of mine just got admission to study a four year program in university.

He was born 2001. By the time he's through with uni he will be around 28.

Can he serve and get a discharge certificate before turning 30?
Rephrase your question
He is eligible to go for NYSC service if he graduates at 28.
NYSC discharge certificate is given upon completion of your service year at the passing out parade ceremony.
However, if he graduates above 30, he will be given an NYSC exemption certificate(he won't go for NYSC service/posting).

mrksquare:
One of the grouse of Nyesome Wike on his estranged political godson in Rivers state is the former's attempt to resuscitate Songhai farm and the fish farms built by Amaechi.

Had it been Wike as Governor gave priority to agriculture by now Rivers state would have been self sufficient to an extent in food production. The Cassava processing farm in Afam, oyigbo that was built by Shell as part of their CSR and handed over to Wike has been under lock and keys for over 5 years. That plant would have helped in processing garri in an industry scale if it was put to use.

The fish farm built by Amaechi but sabotaged by Wike would have helped in complimenting our fish mix in Rivers state. But because Wike had an aversion for anything Agriculture, his minions stole all the equipment put in place at the Buguma Fish farm and others and also ate the fishes.

Should we also mention how Wike paid touts to set ablaze the banana plantation farm in Ogoni after deceiving the Ogoni youths that they are not monkey. Meanwhile, country like St Vincent in the Caribbean has as it number one revenue earner, the export of banana.

Every state governor should be made to invest in Agriculture. We have arable land so have no business having challenges of feeding ourselves in Nigeria.
so true

few days ago, on my way to ... I saw men working/renovating the Port Harcourt vocational centre.
They told me that SIM intends to revive the centre and make it functional for the training of Rivers Youths.
I hope he revives Shanghai farm too.

Today, hundreds of millions of men (single ones especially) would expend gazillions purchasing gifts for women who would at most offer them sex which is mutually pleasurable in return as gifts, and the foolish men would think the reward is enough.

If you are sure she won't get you gifts, don't get her gifts. And if she can't afford any tangible gifts, you are a fôôl for being with a brôke woman. Some would even send monetary gifts to women far away who would be sleeping with other men today.

Spoil only the woman who makes an effort to spoil you at intervals.

But beta males wouldn't heed this advice.
