Wainey: Opposition needs to be fiercely united to overthrow a ruling party. You have SDP, APC, Accord etc all working differently and u want to overthrow PDP in Rivers state? your point is valid, how I wish the likes of Dumo Lulu Briggs, Sobomabo Jack rich, Dawari George and Tonye Cole come together to form an alliance. It would have being much better and stronger. |

Sulele04: What project did Ameachi execute in Rivers as minister of transportation. Chibuike Amaechi is the best Governor of Rivers state since the return of democracy in 1999. We are judging him based on his performance as Governor of Rivers state 2007-2015 and not as A minister under Buhari administration. |

An all comers, 'tower of babel' association spanning Igbos in Ndoki, Urohbos in Ofoni in Sagbama, Efiks/Ibibios in Ibeno, Edos in Owan, Yorubas in Ondo, etc You say what? yes, Ijaws are aborigines in 6 states. in wike's voice " As e dey pain them, e go dey sweet us". |

@wainey no, Sorry for that. A kalabari man have not held the position of Governor but Kalabaris were very influential in Government back in the days. Remember O.B Lulu Briggs, soberekon, Ebenezer Isiokari, marshall Harry, Tonye Harry, etc. |

jamesversion: For a Kalabari I feel your excitement given the possibility that one of your own might become the Governor of Rivers State.
But for an Ijaw man, it's no big deal, Ada-George has been there before.
Also remember Wike is an Ijaw project. Cos bulk of his support on his way to the Governorship came from Ijaws. You can't refute my claims Yes, it is no big deal, List of Ijaws that have ruled Rivers state are: HRH Alfred Diete spiff senator Melford okilo Rufus Ada George. Another will come in a fews months time. #Asawana WE RISE |

Wainey: I didnt say Kalabari governor. But the time of Okilo, Kalabari had and took everything, the emergence of Odili wouldnt have been possible without a kalabari man, Late Chief Graham-Douglas, he was like the Tinubu of Odili govt. Infact Odili biggest obstacle were all Kalabari men One was from Harris/town, his name is Harrison, they had to eliminate him to pave a way. Kalabari controlled Rivers state back then and they were united, if u ar looking for a job and u speak their language, they will quickly see u as a brother which gives u an advantage. Odili eliminated the Kalabari dominance. Yes, that's true. In 1999, Odili won the governorship against A kalabari man, Ebenezer Isokiari. That was lost opportunity for the kalabaris. you forget to mention influential men like Marshall Harry, A.k Dikibo, etc who were assasinated during Odili's tenure. |

maestroferddi: You submission is neither here nor there...
There are 23 LGAs in Rivers State and the obvious fact is that Ikwerreland account for only 4 majorly populated by non-indigens...
A certain man from Buguma and his friend from Degema up to their friends at Eleme, Oyigbo, Etche and Egbema will laugh off your bogus assertions with derision...
If there is anything certain, it is the inescapable fact that Rivers politics will undergo a massive shakeup as soon as Wike waves power bye-bye this year... Whether they like it or not, An Ijaw man will be the Governor of Rivers state this year 2023. |

Wainey: Oga do not argue with me. Go back and ask ur parents if Kalabari's ruled Rivers. Kalabaris were the first to have civilization, they were everywhere in govt. The Ikwerres were just farmers, Ogonis were all fishermen. Kalabari didnt leave any position to others. Even till this day, a Kalabari man looks down on others. Go to Abonnema or Buguma and ask questions boy They held positions in power, yes but A kalabari man have never being a Governor of Rivers state. so what I post earlier is the fact. |

omonnakoda: Rivers used to be dominated by a Bayelsa tendency. With the creation of Bayelsa Ikwerre appear dominant Interestingly the population of Bayelsa is scant but it seems in the old days the likes of Okilo got support from their Kalabari.Bonny and Okrika cousins. I suspect in those days the Ijaws were able to use the creeks to inflate their numbers .The creation of Bayelsa has weakened In as in Rivers state Yes, The creation of Bayelsa reduced the numerical strength/population of Ijaws in Rivers state. Melford Okilo performed well during his tenure as Governor. |

maestroferddi: A ridiculous statement to suggest that the Ikwerres are indispensable in Rivers State...
The problem is that most of you people started following politics like 15 years ago...
From the creation of Rivers State till 2007, the Ikwerres not a major factor in Rivers politics...
They rode on the Igboid sentiments to rise to power...
The have seriously abuse the political capital which came to them on a platter...
In the future, it will be extremely difficult for them to enjoy the relative cooperation of these other subgroups... You are right, the Obio Akpor voting strength is as a result of the high number of non-indigenes living , working and doing business there. |

Today the Kalabari's are suffering it. A kalabari man have never being a Governor in Rivers state. If you disagree, then post the name of the Kalabari man here. |

I can see mike okiro, the Rivers state man who later became IG of police. Nostalgia |

Many renowned persons come out with 3rd class but they didn’t stop there or allow grade stop them from becoming who they want to be example Wale shoyinka . Meanwhile, in this world of technology, certification doesn’t matter anymore what matters is your skill what you can do not what you have on a paper. If you don’t have skills get one now. My 2 cents Wole soyinka is not a 3rd class graduate. Soyinka had 2.1 |
