Newsfrica: There are so many actors that could have been on this list but it has been prunned down to just seven.
It must be noted that none of these actors, barring one of them, officially said they had quit acting but they just haven’t been regular in the movies due to family, politics, business and other commitments.
1. Genevieve Nnaji Genevieve Nnaji was the face of the Nigerian movie industry in the early 2000s.
The multiple awards winner who has acted in hordes of movies took a break from the screen and it has been rumoured that Genny could in fact be calling it quits with acting.
The Imo state – born actress whose craft was noticed whilst she was living at the Egbeda suburb of Lagos was said to be battling mental health issues but contrary to those insinuations, Genevieve only took a break on purpose for personal reasons.
The screen diva in November 2022 made a public appearance at a function in the USA.
Nigerians will be hoping to have their star back either as an actress or behind the scenes calling the shots.
2. Saint Obi Super-talented actor Obinna Nwafor simply known as Saint Obi has been off our screens for a very long time largely because of marital crisis.
Obi and his estranged wife, Lydia were supposedly in court over a murder attempt allegation against the wife and her brothers.
Obi was briefly directing movies himself but all that seemed to have been put to bed for the time being.
3. Omotola Jalade – Ekeinde Anyone who watched an awful lot of movies in the late 90s and afterwards will tell you that most movies that the age profile of Omotola is required in a leading role would not appeal to them unless they have the actress featuring in them.
Omotola remains a phenomenon in the movie industry in Nigeria and it hurts that she is seldom Graces our movies these days.
Omotola, like the other thespians named in this article did not state that they have quit acting.
They are either pursuing other dreams for now or are just frustrated by the quality of movies churned out by those who loosely refer to themselves as ‘new Nollywood’ practitioners.
Prime Business Africa’s Izuchukwu Okosi was on the set of Scores to Settle – a 1998 classic – directed by the late Chico Ejiro – Omotola, who was the lead actress in the movie, had recently given birth to his second child then.
Now, ‘Omosexy’ has more kids and it beggars the question of her growing kids and husband, Mr Matthew Ekeinde ( a pilot with a leading airline in Nigeria) has an influence over her selective appearances in movies these late.
4. Sandra Achums Sandra Achuzonam, simply known as Sandra Achums, was one of the most in-demand actresses back in the 90s and early 2000s in the movie industry.
A great interpreter of roles, she featured in so many movies but had to relocate to Germany with her husband after her wedding.
pocohantas: Lies. What is Meek Mill? Warned by who? Nigeria has hosted many celebrities, including the one with botched nyash. At no point have we mobbed any or stolen their phones.
The only exception has to be 50Cent that Eedris helped us put in place.
Botched kini? you mean Kim Kardashian?
Oh! that Eedris abdulkarim vs 50cent quarrel in 2004. The host sponsor, Star lager beer coy were loved for attracting foreign artists to Nigeria back then. They felt that Eedris' action caused bad publicity for them and their partners. Nevertheless, Eedris was one of the rave of the moment in the rap game and he felt that Nigerian rappers should be respected just like they respect the foreign rappers e.g 50cent,Nas,Jay-z,et al.
Dear ex I know it been a while But guess we've both kicked on From the thoughts and dreams of forever and ever To the reality of life goes on
But it's clear we left our imprints on the sand of time And our beautiful memories has refused to fade As it continues to shine like a candle lighted in the dungeon of dark And echoes more loudly than beatings of drums from the fiercest of men
Do you remember those night out at the alcove that borders the river from the west Where we use to echo beautiful nothing that sounds like melodious lullaby to the ear Do you remember those night we mapped out our lives in our head And we pictured ourselves in the event of years upon years
Do you remember everything When we made love that got Romeo and Juliet so jealous in their tomb Or the day Eros clapped for us Because he saw us a true disciple of the love he taught
How I wish I could go on and on But dryness is starting to threaten the ink of my pen Hopefully the wind of the past will air your aura to my door again Till then,be on the safe side of life the girl that taught me that "to love is to pains."
I’m from a very large polygamous home,my dad was into tradition and everyone in the family before he turned to Christ and now a pastor,my dad was very wealthy in his time..and trained everyone to university level about 22 of us even extended family members, but he is now old school fame..but he is still very comfortable as he acquired a lot of properties in his time.
I was born pretty late as all my siblings are way older than I am,my mom was the first wife, painfully she passed a year ago.You all know the drama that you see happen in a polygamous home right, everything and much much more has happened right from when I was little up until now,I’m 24,my mom was the peaceful one so you can imagine.
My first brother from my mom who is the overall senior was shot years ago by ugm..long story short..my own siblings from my mom don’t do well for themselves at all, these are pple I’m their late 30s to 50s..but every others from my step mom’s are doing very well for themselves,i sometimes still carter for some of the needs of my own siblings in any little way I can and feel so sad most of the time as I never had or remember bonding with my siblings and feel I have a burden to make things right.
The problem now is I feel so very different from everyone in my family,I have always felt I was going to bring change to whatever is going on in my mother’s side..as hard as it is I don’t want to believe it’s anything fetish..like nothing works for us even my siblings that are married are still not doing well..my dad has supported them in different ways even trying to take them abroad nothing works ..even my relationships don’t work....friendships don’t either.
I have held on to God ..even my siblings still nothing.I have spent alot of money to purchase those curse breakers they sell online still nothing. On my end I have been fine and just living..not up until I just graduated..it has been from frypan to fire things have gone so bad.I really don’t know what to do sometimes I feel very suicidal..but I know I have a purpose.
"when I call on Jesus, all things are possible I can mount on hills, like Eagle and soar Lord, come rescue me when I call...." @OP may God's grace lead you.
Goldbw122: People respect me even when I don't have money... That is the personality you need to have just imagine when you don't have money that is when you will know the real people that repsect you when you don't have money.. that is when you see their true color.
With money or without money, A person can still accord respect to his/her self. I wonder why they downgrade the role of content of character in human socialization. Is money important? Yes Is character important? Yes

Among the bad people are above 99% Nigerian politicians, tribalists, those that sell their votes for peanuts, religious bigots, majority in the elites and church leadership.
Among the good people we have less than 1% Nigerian politicians, those youths that desire a better Nigeria irrespective of who is in the saddle. The celebrities clamouring for a better leadership irrespective of the tribe, those determined to vote wisely irrespective of financial inducement etc
qtguru: I heard inside gist, him and Uti. But now I see either he's born again or gay.
Yes, you know the story. Alex was living in Uti's house back then. They denied it several times, rather telling people that they are models. I.K Ogbonna was one of them till he part ways with them and got hooked to a colombian lady.
Adepoju Sikiru of Ibarapa is the first Nigerian indigene to win grammy. It shocks me that some people don't know him, maybe because he is not a singer and he is based abroad.
StagethemTVee: Afrobeat star Burna Boy in this video cusses our his fans who had waited several hours for his live performance.

Tony umez , the number one Nollywood Simp back then. At a time, Nollywood had loverboys like Ramsey Noah, Pat Attah, RMD, Chidi Mokeme, etc Tony Umez played the role of a foolish lover in many films.
The real definition of "Why do fools fall in love?". Doooorling, Doooorling.

mrksquare: And what made Rivers state to win Imo state at the supreme court involving the oil wells in Egbema and Ndoni was the boundary adjustment map of 1976. That was the evidence the supreme court relied upon in ruling in favour of Rivers state.
The boundary dispute caused strife between The then Governor of Rivers state, Melford Okilo and the then Governor of Imo state, Sam mbakwe.
mrksquare: But why are you are not proud of your ancentry. I meant to say Ndoni. Ndoni was carved out of Imo state to Rivers state. This fact can't be contested. Even when Odili was governor, Rivers people were always making mockering on how an Igbo man from Imo state was ruling the state.
The case is similar to Egbema. One part of Egbema is in Rivers state, The other part of Egbema is in Imo state.
Oladelepsy001: If Wike's govt. is making life hard for the people of Rivers, then it means during Ameachi's period as governor of the state, he made their life harder and miserable... Because the achievements Wike recorded as governor is so enormous that even oppositions can't deny the visibility..
Ask around, Chibuike Amaechi is the best Governor of Rivers state since the return of democracy i.e 4th Republic. Amaechi perform better than his predecessors- Peter Odili and celestine Omehia and his successor - Nyesom wike. If you lived in Rivers during Amaechi's tenure and now wike's tenure, you would know that Amaechi is better all round.
Sulele04: That is debatable Wike legacies are very clear in infrastructure and welfare.
Amaechi did very well in education and health care though.
which welfare? someone that Could not pay the aged Retirees for 7 years now. What of Civil service recruitment in 2020 that was cancelled, till date nothing have been said about it. let me stop here
Infrastructure nko? All 12 flyovers you are seeing is sited in Obio Akpor which is wike's LGA. why abandon the other LGAs and focus on only Obio Akpor and PHAlGA?
If you lived in Rivers in Amaechi's tenure and Wike's tenure, you would know that Amaechi is better and more open to all.
