Check your mis-spellings first! Where are the jobs u have created? Let's start from there. I hope this is not a scam to swindle unsuspecting and desperate Nigerians. |
kidUrbane:I work with RD professionals daily. You are definately in the right direction. The demand for healthcare professionals, including Nutrition & Dietetics continue to see up swing. |
ojdollars:Please refer to my earlier contributions for pre-requisites for medicine and other health care programs. For the duration of study, it is 4 - years for medicine (graduate level) and 3 - years for the other health care courses (graduate level). Total duration for medicine: 8- years (4 for undergraduate and 4 for graduate), and the rest ( 4 for undergrad and 3 for graduate) before you finish. For Nursing: 2-3 years for RN (depends on the pre-requisites to complete) and 3-4 years for BSN (depends on the pre-requisites to complete). Note: Nursing's entry level into the profession is still at community college/ undergraduate level. |
ojdollars: davidylan:To study medicine, physical therapy, pharmacy, dentistry, prosthetics & orthotics, etc, in the US requires two major steps. NOTE: It is NOT possible to apply for the above courses directly from Nigeria as entry level. 1) These courses are graduate level- based courses, meaning that they are NOT offered as undergraduate courses, except nursing. You will have to complete at least a bachelor's degree and meet other requirements (know as pre-requisites in the US) prior to applying to these courses. 2)Most of the courses will require you to attend series of interviews prior to acceptance in addition to near perfect GPA in your undergraduate studies. This is because it is extremely competitive to get admissions into the above courses. Nursing is still at undergraduate level (community colleges for RN and universities for BSN). You will need to complete the pre-requisites and pass entrance exams prior to acceptance. My 2 cents advise is this: If u have not completed an undergraduate program, you can apply to study any biological sciences in the US and when u graduate then apply for the graduate medical/ healthcare programs. OR Study any of the above courses in Nigeria and relocate after graduation. This may be cheaper for those without deep pockets. |
Kakatazz:MBA in IT may sound like a great program to pursue, but the outcome is what matters here. MBA / IT will be too competitive for a foreigner to find suitable / well-paying job after graduation. If u decide to pursue any of the health courses I outlined earlier, you will not regret it. Most people in healthcare if they are hard working can make six figure incomes. Since you are married, your people in the US may not be able to sponsor you. There are many ways to move to the US and get settled, but you will be looking at many years before you can bring your wife and kid. The best way if you are lucky is with the US greencard lottery. U will arrive the US with immigrant status and life will be far easier for u and ur family. There are many US government programs to help newly arrived greencard holders. If u set your mind on relocating to the US, you will achieve it. It requires determination, hard work and most importantly prayers for God's favor. |
^^^ Graduate studies in the areas you listed are OK, except Anatomy. If the graduate studies lead to a PhD, then you will have many options. At Masters' level, your options will be limited. |
For those of you aspiring to study here in the USA, remember to plan accordingly. I would recommend that you pursue a program in Healthcare/ medical sciences, such as Pharmacy, Medicine, Physical Therapy, Nursing, Dentistry, Medical Assistant program, Dental Hygiene, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Prosthetics & Orthotics and Radiological sciences/ Tech. These areas currently enjoy high favorability in employment, and will continue for the next 10 years according to the US Dept. of Labor. This is because of the aging population, and especially the baby-boomers. No point in studying some worthless courses and you can't even find an employer to sponsor you. Even if you marry an American and get your papers, finding a job may still be a problem. This is my 2 cents contribution as a Nigerian American Doctor in the USA. |
The house is turning out real nice. ![]() |
Thanks for the info. I am browsing through the website now. |
@ Taich, Thanks for the info. Please post the website or a link to Abuja/ FCT Land Information Office or Registry. |
^^^ If I buy a land with a C of O, would I need to process a new C of O or change of name with the C of O? |
Great points. Please give more details on lands, processing of C of O, and investment in real estates generally in Abuja. |
ogunrodo:@ Ogunrodo, I beg, I carry Oluwa beg u to comot that dokita title for ur name. No way in hell u go be dokita na. Stop embarrasing us, I beg. Even secondary school pikin no go write like that, abi na? No be by force u go use that kind title. |
^^^ You can get land for far less than N1.5M in many parts of Delta. The bigger cities/ towns: Warri, Asaba, Agbor, Sapele, etc, may be more expensive though. @ Favour me, where in Delta are u building? I am from Delta too, and this thread may be an eye opener for many people. |
@ Reajen, Classic contemporary designs! Really forward thinking. The only things I don't like are the bright colors u used for the outside walls. I would prefer stones to cover the entire front view. Just like some designs I saw in an estate in Texas. Great job despite the colors (personal preference). |
Check ur email. |
Post pictures and details. |
Just use condoms and avoid intercourse during the ovulation period if possible. Condoms does not have side effects, just buy quality and top of the range and u will be good. |
I have been using www.xe.com for years. Truely a global resoure for exchange rates. |

Please email detailed pictures to sagewood@yahoo.com |
@ Spyder, I understand your angle. But if one can avoid it, I will recommend you complete your project before collecting money from renters. Just like Fhemmmy asked, how do u know the good ones and the ones from hell? |
Fhemmmy:Bad idea to take money upfront from renters to complete any projects. I was offered money to complete one of my projects in the past by would-be renters and I turned them down. This is because of one of my brothers got into nasty issues with a renter by collecting money upfront to complete his flats. When the renter had financial problem he refused to pay for 2 years claiming that he helped my brother when he needed money. The case went to court before he was thrown out. |
@ Favour Me, I believe Spyder have given you a good advise. Start the 4 -flats and that will help you focus financially. Open a new thread for your project. |
This thread will extend to 100 or 1000 pages, and there will be no agreement or conclusions. That is the beauty of God's mystery. Below is one of my favorite quotes: "To justify the ways of God to men is to elucidate the conflict between God's eternal foresight and free will" - John Milton, Paradise Lost. |

@ tbaba1234, As thought provoking as your discussion topic may sound, together with your "so-called" rational debate, the debate "unfortunately" cannot be rational. This is because no scientific theory or hypothesis can be applied to the existence or workings of the Almighty God. When it comes to things related or connected to God's existence, you either believe or don't based on your faith. Believing The Truth based on your faith. Find below references from the bible. Faith is believing in what is true. Faith has two elements: 1) being convinced of the truth, being certain of reality, having evidence of unseen things, and 2) believing, hoping in, embracing, seizing the truth. Heb 11:1 (KJV) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Heb 11:1 (NIV) Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Heb 11:1 (NEB) Faith, makes us certain of realities we do not see. Heb 11:1 (Mof) Now faith means that we are confident of what we hope for, convinced of what we do not see. Heb 11:1 (Wey) Now faith is a well-grounded assurance of that for which we hope, and a conviction of the reality of things which we do not see. It is a matter of faith, not scientific inquiry, reasoning or rationalization. |

Keep them coming! |
I am a doctor based in the USA. I have worked in Nigerian teaching hospitals before leaving the shores of Nigeria. In all developed countries, CEO or Administrators head all health facilities. The Nigerian system have CMDs as head of hospitals. Though this system need to change for effective hospitals / health care facilities administration. But I strongly doubt it will change as the system is resistant to change the status quo. When I establish a health facility / hospital in Nigeria, I would need an experienced administrator or manager to run it. I will probably act as the chairman of the board. Then the administrator will be answerable to the chairman/ board. |
