PoliticsRe: Removal Of CRK From Secondary School Curriculum: More Updates by Saifullah01:
Africa has Arabic spoken OFFICIALLY in more than 12 countries and unofficially in more than 2 dozen countries. It is the most spoken Afrosiatic language and only the colonial languages of French and English are more spoken.

The Africa Development Bank does simultaneous interpretation to French, English, Arabic and Portuguese. Of all these languages Arabic and French are more relevant to Nigeria due to the proximity of West Africa to North Africa (where Arabic is widely spoken) and the presence of francophone countries in West Africa.

It might interest many to note that since the 15th century Northern Nigeria (which include parts of the current middle belt) where very literate and authored books on religion, politics and economics before the coming of the colonial powers. They used the AJAMI script - an international Africa writting script used to writing Hausa and Swahili. This script was a derivative of Arabic(and is what is seen on our naira notes and not arabic)

Bottom line is Arabic as a language predates Islam and the existence of Arab and coptic Christians is evidence to this.

IslamRamadan: Work And Ibadat, How Do You Cope? by Saifullah01(op): 2:36pm On Jun 07, 2017
Assalamu Alaikum brothers and sisters.
Its no news that the first trimester of Ramadan is gone and very soon so shall the first half of it. How have you balanced your work time and Ibadat time (good deeds/acts of worship)

I hope on this thread we can share experiences so that we draw inspiration form each other. So I will start from myself.

I work with a multinational company with working hours ranging from 8am to 5pm (excluding overtime). So when I close for the day I am tired and only have just over 1.5 hours to Iftar. Hence below are the major Ibadat I get to do (May Allah help us to do more and bless our little effort)

QURAN
After midday prayers I stay back in the mosque to recite 1 JUZ (2 HIZB) of the Quran which takes roughly 30 to 40 minutes. Hopefully at this pace I would complete the Quran at the end of the month (The Quran has 30 JUZ)

NAWAFIL
The mother of the faithfull Umm Habibah Ramilah bint Abu Sufyan Radhiallahu ‘anhu narrated that she heard the Prophet Shalallahu ‘alaihi wa Salam saying: “A house will be built in paradise for every Muslim who offers twelve Rak’ah of optional salah other than the obligatory salah in day and night, to seek pleasure of Allah.” Narrated by Muslim.

As much as I can, I 'religiously' observe these nafl prayers (I think I have just missed a day or two). They are as follows
Two rakahs before the obligatory Fajr prayers.
Four rakahs before and two rakahs after the obligatory Dhuhr prayers.
Two rakahs after the obligatory Magrib prayers.
Two rakahs after the obligatory Isha prayers.

TARAWIH
This one needs no detail, all I can say is May Allah stregnthen our resolve to stand-it-out with the Imam throughout the Month.

PLEASE SHARE YOUR EXPIRIENCE OF IBADAT AND WORK DURING THIS MONTH

PoliticsNigeria Is Gradually Getting It Right. Read This.... by Saifullah01(op): 12:23pm On Mar 30, 2017
Early this year at a meeting between NNPC and downstream stakeholders one of the big names in the downstream (an independent marketer from the North) returened $50m dollars gaurantee it was given to the FG because it it didn't have the capacity to deliver on the import.

I was just wondering today if it were the "good" old days what could have happened to that $50m and if Nigeria would ever have gotten value for it.

Things are changing....

Actually fashola is working. Coz I remember during the hot whether/season which we are now in, there was always power shortages with the normal excuses being our dams are dry. But presently, although not perfect power supply is comparatively better.

I will make comment when I read the bill, not with the misrepresentations our notorious media houses provide.

I remember when el-Rufai marked some churches in Abuja for demolition for not complying with approved building plan they accused him of islamisation, when he turned on mosques in Abuja they called him shaytaan (devil) and Friday sermons were delivered against him. But isn't Abuja better off today with his foresight.

PoliticsRe: Why PMB Got It Wrong With James Ocholi' family "compensation" - CramJones by Saifullah01:
I don't think there is a big deal about this. The federal government awards kids of a deceased federal minister. It's just similar to a laudable legislation in the state of New York, US - regents award to children of deceased police officers in the state of New York ( http://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/bills/2015/s16 ).What I think we should be talking about is standardising these awards and defining its parameters.

And for the minister's son employment, it's no coincidence that it's the ministry of justice that is offering him the job and not the ministry of labour where his father worked. Obviously due deligence and background checks would have been done as per his qualification before the announcement of the offer. #justmy2cents

IslamRe: *for Married Folks: Sexual Acts And Their Permissibility In Islam by Saifullah01:
Arguing with the Shia's is tantamount to looking for a pin in the darkness. They are Always looking for technicalities to cause 'shubha' (doubts) among believers.

Imagine one of the reason adduced by them above to exclude the wives of the prophet (AS) from his household as being the pronoun used (Kum) is masculine! Every amatuer student of Arabic knows that while feminine pronouns are exclusive to the feminine gender, the masculine pronouns are not, and are used generally to address groups of individual comprising of both males and females (as it is in the case of the prophets household AS).

The Shia's ideology of condemning the wives of the prophet is similar to the ideology of the khawarij of old, where sin is absolute and condemns a person. Thus to them if a person steal he is condemned to hell! This ideology is contrary to the teachings of the Quran where repentance not only expiate your sins but grants you double rewards, Allah says in the Quran “Except him who repents and believes and does a good deed so these are they of whom Allah changes the evil deeds to good ones and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful” (q25v70)

So for the sake of argument let's assume some of the sahabas and the wives of the prophet are guilty of what the Shia's accuse them of (May Allah forgive and guide us) can the Shia's with certainty claim they didn't repent and ask Allah's forgiveness, and if they did were they forgiven? My advice for my brothers is rather than waste our energy condemning our noble predecessors lets instead do what the Quran advices us; mind our business and pray for forgiveness for them.

“And those who come after them say: Our Lord! forgive us and those of our brethren who had precedence of us in faith, and donot allow any spite to remain in our hearts towards those who believe our Lord! surely Thou art Kind, Merciful.” (Q59v10)

“This is a people that have passed away; they shall have what they earned and you shall have what you earn, and you shall not be called upon to answer for what they did” (q2v141)

Finally, for every interpretation or understanding we claim to derive from the Quran we must ask ourselves some pertinent questions;
1. Do I have any predecessor among the sahabas who understood this verse the way I did.
2. How did the companions of the prophet understood the particular verse
3. How did scholars of the second and third generation after the prophet understood the verse

It would be the height of injustice to knowledge to feign a particular understanding of which neither the prophet (AS) not his sahabas nor the second and third rightly guided generation after them are a party of.
