Nigerian warplanes bombed training camps and equipment belonging to Islamist group Boko Haram in the northeast's Sambisa forest on Thursday, the military said, adding momentum to an assault meant to crush the rebels also involving neighbors Chad, Cameroon and Niger.http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSKBN0LN1IK20150219 I wonder why some people like whooping up ethnic sentiment, when areal bombardment of BH camps happened in Feb 19, nobody opened silly threads up and down this forum, rather we up here were cautiously optimistic and wondered why the govt hadn't carried out these attacks six years ago while allowing the problem to get out of control. Well kudos to the new govt for going after criminals who killed police men last week and looted the armory while at it |
Flets:So what, I am also typing from KRPC, and as I type a team from the company that biult the refineries are on ground doing integrity test. Fact still remains the previous administration (not necessarily GEJ himself - but he has to take responsibility) delibrately kept our refineries shut down so as fleece the country dry of vital funds (through fake subsidies, round tripping of vessels, unregulated crude oil swaps etc) Like some one said somewhere, no one has been sacked, no one invited for questioning, neither has the president asked any serious questions (yet), but everyone seems to now know his or her job descriptions, and are carrying out with impeccable alacrity. That's the change we r talking about. |
It is an insult (to the sword) to (even) say the sword is sharper than the staff. |
CheckAm:The man hasn't done anything yet: The U.S. just gave MNJTF $5bn to fight terror? Nigeria has taking command of the fight against terror and asked foreign troops to leave our soil? IPMAN has agreed to import product at zero subsidy cost to nigeria (don't ask me why/how, do some research) And the list goes on, and all these himself without ministers! I guess he is the hero nigeria needs- a superman president |
That's my president, bringing the much deserved respect to the giant of Africa, in his first continental duty he chaired the peace and security meeting (some say well no big deal that's because nigeria is in conflict with BH, but I say isn't sudan?, southsudan? DRCongo? Etc, why not them?) The president might not be the most eloquent, but he is far more audible than my French boss when he speaks English, and yet he remains the MD of one of the world's biggest energy company. |
Make I copy uni too... |
Didn't u watch the news yesterday. The CDS and his airforce counterpart gave a press conference yesterday from maiduguri, if they all go Maiduguri who go handle the security meeting of heads of state of Chad basin countries today in abuja . |
That's the beauty of buhari way of doing thing he allows things to take their course by themselves. I was at KRPC (kaduna refinery) and saw some foreign guys moving around when I inquired I head they were the original company that biult the refineries and are making initial assessments. A lot of things seem to be going on in the background. See how efficient even our same old army has become in coordinating regional response to boko haram. I just pray the party doesn't derail the guys focus. |
Lemon12:Orubebe is that you? |
With all due respect to tunde idaigbon... Did he have idaigbon when he was federal commissioner for petroleum and a minister and built 2 refineries? Did he have idaigbon when he headed PTF which performed splendidly under him (even as at today - 2 June 2015 - there is still a PTF bus standing at gwagwalada teaching hospital abuja, and PTF pillows on their bed and PTF buses in some higher institutions in nigeria) Does he still have idaigbon that non of u PDP apologist can dig out any CURRUPTION case that can stick to him? |
Question loading I have a few questions. 1) what would u advice someone venturing into online business for the first time (no background in IT, but knows basic computer utilization and use of Internet) 2) how do you get traffic to your site (that is given online advert rates are high and could affect profitability of the start up) 3) generally how would you rate the cost of running online business viz a viz the turnover, 4) finally, any general advice for someone interested in online business like me with no background in IT (majority of Internet start ups i see are owned by IT gurus) |
Ok we don hear |
People take GMB's simplicity for granted. If anything this is d only man in this country that is not changed by situations, rather he seeks to change them

In a country where abortion is illegal yet they legalize homosexuality. What a creed-confused country |
Serious... Am sure this woman was tracking buhari, I can reliably say that her name has been on Lufthansa manifest for the past 3days (all no show) only for her to appear in British Airways today! There is really fire on the mountain |
U see what 16 years of pdp rule has done to ur psyche. Over there u represent/serve ur people as the case may b not rule over them. |
So what buhari aide now say is worth a headline? (And when did one obscure person in an obscure wing of the buhari support org turn to his aide? ) trash journalism, if they r now called out, they start issuing apologies. |
Loading... With the his spineless leadership, surrendering security in the SS to militants, governance in the SW to OPC and land mas in the NE to boko haram for six years that killed thousands and left millions displaced. GEJ needed no one to incite the whole country - save a greedy few - against him, he was the architect of his own destruction. QED |
Good |
The problem is not with the Nigerian army, but with our political leadership. I once saw a wise saying somewhere : "I don't fear an army of lions led by a sheep, but I fear an army sheep led by a lion" Now tell me which is nigeria and which is Chad? |
Sad indeed |
Nigerians and humour ![]() |
Al Jazeera is a media organisation and like all media site any body is allowed to air his opinions in the opinion section (El rufai and ThisDay comes to mind) it doesn't in anyway represent the editorial position of aljazeera As is clearly stated by aljazeera at the end of the article "The views expressed in this article are the author's own and do not necessarily reflect Al Jazeera's editorial policy." |
I had always like this guy rite from time. I guess his humility is a rarity in the Nigerian ecumenical space |
I ve Neva liked Twitter, but I may be tempted to register because of this GMB/Osibanjo collabo.... |
My take on this. Bad journalism When did Elizabeth become total nigeria plc's MD. Total nig Plc is the downstream operation of total with its MD alexis volx, total downstream is entirely seperately from total upstream aka total exploration and production nigeria limited ( if our journalist can't get this simple fact straight, how sure are we the whole article isn't twisted) Insincere government You don't need a soothsayer to tell you nigeria is broke or going broke. I just hope this is not a ploy to increase pump price and then using all means to rope it on total's internal labour dispute DSS connection ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Man of the moment |
Allah says about His love in the noble quran Ch 85 V 14 - 15: "and He is the forgiving the loving. Lord of the throne of glory" And concerning sins, Cn 39 V 53: "Say: O my servants! who have acted extravagantly against their own souls, do not despair of the mercy of Allah; surely Allah forgives the faults altogether; surely He is the Forgiving the Merciful" There are many more references on Allan's love and forgiveness |
I used google map to drive from kaduna to a particular town in Edo state, and that was my first time in edo state. It works and it rocks. Even where there was no network my location was still flashing (wonder how it did that). And with the recent update, it can voice guide you to your destination. I tried it in abuja |
