pheesayor: chai, my memo got approval and I must switch tomorrow. Hard decisions, what do I do now?.....
Well if u have ur approval then I guess all you can do is give it a chance. For some days it's been quite good, so make u March dey go; we set ur back.
I'm considering switching to ntel for the company I work. We've been on SWIFT for years but considering switching as swift's 120gb is not sufficient for us anymore and we keep exhausting before a month. I've tried unlocking the swift modems to try out ntel for some days but I've not been able to do so. Ntel is selling their modem for 36k which is too expensive for a test. I want to know if I can get a cheaper modem that will run Ntel and if it works well in Yaba and will be okay for a company of 12 systems.
Thanks in anticipation
Hello Pheesayor, it kinda difficult answering that question cos according to the terms and conditions of some of these providers, u're only supposed to use it for personal not commercial purposes.
That said the network in yaba is relatively okay, the speed during the first 3 months is supposed to be unlimited but some complain that it's throttled.
I'd suggest u unlock ur swift router that's presuing it's a regular router not the old wimax router, then pick up an Ntel sim and subscribe to the 1k plan and try it out for 2days b4 u make a substantial investment which may put ur job on the line.
For ur info, I used over 300gb during my first month and I paid just 10k, the ball is in ur court; all the best....
As for the router, you could get an unlocked one online or alternatively get a locked spectranet modem and take it to computer village to unlock for about 5k that's what I did, just search olx or jiji....
acunon: Thanks, but even after the 2 days sub can i sub online at home?
Yes boss u can, I just credited my account a few minutes ago. So I can relax 2mrw and not have high BP with the stress of going all the way to ikoyi, bros fuel na 145 per litre oh.
tracychelsea13: So sorry to hear this. I got my ntel sim from their Kingsway shop from the same lady named Miriam. I was very impressed with her. My friend went over and was attended to by her. He even put up a post on twitter. Not sure what went went wrong but as Saint2ace said give it a few days and if they don't resolve it come back here and we will join you. These things happen sometimes. Pele
I concur with you on the Miriam issue, she's actually one of a kind, she attended to me once and I was quite impressed too.
Let's just hope things work out, I finally got to recharge my account online, so I guess it was network issue. One love
acunon: Na wah oh, why this negative write up now when I have made up my mind to get a sim, since they said they have started working in my area of recent (iba new site, ojo lagos). Can I pause my active subscription if I don't get reception on my area?
I'd advise you chill for now and make sure u have adequate network b4 u subscribe, alternatively u could get the sim and pay for the 2days plan to check if it suits u the do a full subscription. Thirdly, u could borrow a sim and try it out b4 going through all the stress. My 2kobo
Ntel21092016: Well, I think I've managed to stand for 200mins on my feet just to get Ntel to simply give me a new line or a refund but it's not the case.
My loss for subscribing to Ntel. 36000 modem 20000 for 2 months subscription 2500 for calling customer care numerous times no solution. 7000 to visit ikoyi branch twice and ikeja branch.
Thanks 65600Naira.
I will now leave it to them to decide.
Left their office(Ikoyi) at 16:25 Friday 23rd September 2016. No new sim, no refund. All 65,600Naira gone to waste. Mariam you tried.
Not sure fideusi knows what management means nor the tech guy in blue does.
Signing off.
Lesson learned. Be wise about which network you want to settle for.
Na wa oh, sorry bros. Just relax for a few days and let's see how it goes.
Ntel21092016: I'm still here 15:58 on my feet. Ntel has not rectified the problem.
I feel you bro, it's unfortunate what's happening with Ntel; I had high hopes for dem but keep us update us on how it finally ends.
I had to diss Spectranet for them but of late they're network has been quite crappy, download speeds have been limited and network reception in my area has been reduced to the quantity of kola in an old man's pocket.
I even tried paying online today and it's been a herculean task. Well let's see how it goes; all the best.
4llerbuntu: 2 days in a row now I've been having really poor speeds BTW 70-12kbps max
Am I the only one experiencing this?
Have they started throttling, because signal is even better than it used to be this weekend, but speed is terrible.
I experienced this about 2 months ago for about 2 weeks + suffice to say this sub will be my last for a long while. Rather go to swift and get reasonable service.
I don't see the point of Internet slower than 2G
I thought I was the only one, of late the speed has been crappy and the signal poor. I think they've started throttling or maybe the naija factor has simply come to the fore.
Well i'll try swift next but definitely not going back to spectranet... God forbid bad thing
Stanley08: Lol. I stay close to onike. Downstairs, No service. Upstairs, with enough gymnastics i can get up to 4bars. My download speed gets up to 4MB/s at night i believe.
Na groove u dey na, lol.. I just got an external antenna, I'll install it with my huawei router and see if there's any improvement.
Stanley08: Lol. Ntel network is worse now. Worse than before anyways. Still get 3MB/s download speed tho. Used to get 5 to 9MB. Well, I've not tried at locations with great reception.
For some weeks now, the network has been pretty poor here at onike yaba, have been on less than one bar for sometime now. Highest i've been able to achieve is 500Kbps and that's at night; but I can still stream sha though it buffers a little but all in all it still gets the job done.
EnterPRO: I heard ntel streams better if you use LAN rather than WiFi connection.
Theorectically it should work better since there are no signal losses due to transmission. Unfortunately, I use a mifi not a router so I can't say for sure. But the network is okay sha, even though the signal is pretty weak here in yaba, but when I used it at festac/amuwo bros na fire.
Lexusgs430: MXQ has loads of clones. My mxq is not painted, it's engraved on the top case. Would personally not know how to identify a clone from original. Mine still works perfect, almost 2 years now.
U're lucky bro, what OS does urs run on? Mine runs on Remix OS with playstore and youtube pre-installed, the only other app is Kodi. Oh well let's see how it goes; am returning mine cos it looks as if it had been used and returned b4, maybe it's the same issue. But let's see how it pans out.
Lexusgs430: I have 3 boxes. Two without antenna and one with antenna. Bought them from the UK. The antenna MXQ (about £60) & the antenna free (about £30)
Awesome bro, mine is MXQ but I think it's cloned cos it's not engraved on the box but painted. It's an android PC too; Very smooth my only worry being it's not preloaded and has no functional iptv account.
I tried some iptv channel urls as well as some m3u channel files but it's quite unstable. I want something stable bro, no time to waste hard earned money.
Thanks bro, I got a url to about 790 channels but the downside is that it's not steady, worked last nite and didn't work today. Mine is an android tv and PC combo with a remix os. My only problem is that the kodi app is supposed to come loaded. I tried loading the add-ons myself but couldn't get a lot of add-ons ; basic genesis for video streaming no even dey add-on list.
Unfortunately, i don't know the difference; neither do the sellers online give you the full detail. Where did you get yours and for how much? or do you have someone that can load an IPTV Account and install channels to the box?
