yeah right mr know it all , the FBI or local cops in the state don't go about bully and intimidating judges , the carry out valid investigation over a period of time before they nail u , and when u are accused or been a suspect u will be suspended as a judge to face trial , and they carry out all investigations with the approval of whoever represent d judiciary in the state or the attorney general ... And this has nothin to do with the presidency , Obama or whoever it is has no say in this , that makes it transparent .. That my friend is the difference in a pure democratic settings ... You that is learned , will just read and say cos it was done in US , so wats the big deal with nigeria ... The difference here is the process and procedures in arresting the judges ..!!
Let's analyze ur comment...u started by saying d FBI or local cop dnt just arrest or intimidate a judge, tht they carry out proper investigation, u r right..I remember d DSS in their statement tht these judges have all been under investigation for months, nd more are still under investigation as we speak.

So its either u saw this statement nd decided to ignore it nd turn a blind eye to it.

To your second point, about been suspended, nd den facing trial. Oohh!!!....u just shot urself n d foot!!!. R u aware tht d DSS, d office of the attorney general has asked the NJC to suspend the judges so they can face trial?? Mayb u r not. Even d NBA, Association of Senior lawyers have all asked d NJC to suspend this judges to allow dem face trial. The NJC is refusing...Y r dey refusing??....They r trying to shield their judges and even have the temerity to ask the DSS to present their evidences against the judges. Who does that.

Mind u d office of d attorney general is under the control of the presidency. So u can't say tht if charges r brot up against judges n d us thru d office of d attorney general, tht it has nothing to do with d presidency. Exceptn u dnt know d diff bw the chief judge n d attorney general. So u r contradicting urself with this point

So my friend u have made no diff bw what is obtainable n a pur democracy nd wht transpired here n 9ja. Hate won't let u c DT...so I dnt blame u....I understand, I know what sentiments does to a man

as a matter of fact the judiciary is an independent arm of Govt , they should take care of it's own issues , thats y i said they should deal with them , from my previous message , that also include trials , my friend ....when the execute arm of govt starts to interfere in other arms of govt then democracy is under attack , except offcos u practice democracy by words nd not in reality ,
You dnt know anytyn, is it only n Nigeria tht judges r arrested, are der no case n d USA were judges have been arrested, did u hear dem say its a attack on d judiciary. Look at other countries tht practice matured democracy bfre u start spewing trash

am telling u , this man is just hell bent on destroying everything , wat concerns the executive with the judiciary , this are not part of the principles of democracy , if judges are corrupt give the NJC evidences to deal wit it's judges...
Ignorance is worse than HIV...d NJC cannot handle issues of criminality.... The court is d proper authority.....y would dey give dem deir evidence so that d judges would know all d weapons d govt wants to use to nail dem in court...Nope let dem go to court nd face d law like every oda citizen, dey have been accused of grievous crimes, it has passed d level of d NJC.

Even d NBA has changed its position on this matter, senior lawyers d same tin, den u r here talking trash. Let dem step aside, n prove deir innocence n court

How can u b so sentimental, whts wrong n taking d judges to court??....no one is saying they r guilty, just step aside n prove ur innocence........isn't tht simple. Isn't it clear tht d NJC is shielding its judges.........nd ur joining dem...

How can f NJC bar d media from publishing petitions against Judges, what happened to d freedom of info bill

So because ders hunger we should turn our country to dumping ground for all sorts of products, we would kill n discourage local production of goods. If u remove northerners, dey c nothing wrong with that.. Look at tht list very well there is a south easterner named okekezie who was uplifted.....

The argument of customs is made up of northerners doesn't hold water at all.

The problem with the south east is the people der r living in perpetual inferiority. If not they won't read meaning to any move of a northerner

Consumption Of Local Goods Is Good If We Have Them In Aboundace. we dont have food banks, government is suppose to buy most local goods and store them. if we have food bank that can serve us for 10yrs before restricting importation, there will be little opposition.
Nobody would go into producing local rice if you flood d market with imported rice...u dnt want to suffer but u want to just enjoy. It doesn't work that way. If I as a local farmer wants to produce rice n large quantity, do u know how much moni it would cost me, den wen I finish, ders nobody to buy my rice because d foreign one is all over d market..if we kip waiting for wen we have d local one in abundance bfre we now ban, we just b going round circles no head way.

The short term approach of lifting the ban for a short period time never yielded meaningful results in OBJ's tenure. Control mechanism presently in place is to allow importation through sea ports, where duties are collected. This leads to higher prices on imported rice, which ordinarily is good for local production. But smuggling thru land boarders, in order to evade duties is what govt is kicking against. This kills rice farmers. This ban on land border importation serves short, medium and long term issues.
.

Thank you, most of dem are only concerned about that belle, not minding d after effect of tht

Short term, medium term and long term plan the way to go. Ban, yes but gradual not outright when our local production can't yet meet our consumption. This whole idea of our policy makers muddling things up is sickening. If their is shortfall in local production too, demand exceed supply, price skyrockets and smuggling is encouraged. So government must come up with some form of control not outright ban but a tariff-controlled mechanism until we achieve sufficient production..
It is clear ur not informed, govt didn't ban rice importation totally, it only did thru d countries land borders. Pls get ur facts right bfre quoting me

I grew up on the farm and know what farming entails. Just like other professions require skills, farming itself require a level of skill with a lot of strength and stamina. If you have never been a farmer by some form of training and you venture into it, the chances you will tire out is high. A serious government should stop saying everyone should go and farm when discussion like this ensues. Let look for those who already have the stamina, energy and necessary level of skill, encourage them to remain on farm, give them incentives and invest in them.

On the issue of rice importation ban, I got your argument but a serious government needs to have a short term, medium term and long term plan. Until our policy makers start learning to use those articulated languages and stop all their braggado and fire brigade approach method to things, we aint go anywhere!
Govt has not said everybody should go to d farm, I was d one hu said that anybody clamouring for rice importation because the price of rice is too high nd der r hungry, dey should go n farm.

Govt has plans already we c wht is happening n Anambra, Even CBN has keyed into d anambra rice project, Lagos n Kebbi partnership...called Lake rice that would make local rice affordable n sustainable n Lagos.....Abakaliki is doing something similar...

So what more do u want d govt to do??,permit me to go into this.Pple said GEJ made giant strides n agriculture, where r d products??......

The problem is that we expect a miracle tp happen, we expect tht wen d govt does smtyn today den tomorrow we wud just start seeing local rice errywer n d market. It is not magic.

If u agree with me on importation then d only way is to produce our local rice, if u have d power to go into it u go weda its to feed ur family or commercialy, just go.........

U think govt will just start dashing pple moni to go n farm, if govt starts dashing out moni to pple like that how many pple do u tink wud actually go m farm with this moni....ull c pple buying flashy cars with d moni......

I really don't know your position on this matter. I am not sure if you have followed the trend, but I do. I am hoping to see him in the EFCC's net soon, if this war against corruption is not lopsided or selective.

Do you farm yourself? You asked him to go and farm, assuming he goes into farming, subsistence farming; you think in this age and time and in a country of 180million people, subsistence farming is what will take the country out of this doldrums?
When I read comments like yours I am certain you are one of those who probably don't know what farming entails. Subsistence farming oga is not what the country needs to be food sufficient. We need massive investment in mechanised farming. With mechanised farming all Nigerians don't need to farm. 10% of our population doing that will feed everyone and we will still have left to export. It is what is obtained in developed society. That is why government needs to give incentives as the post suggests. Even constant power availability is needed. What happens when you produce so much and yet you can't preserve them? Only illiterate think everybody must be farmers. If we are all farmers, who will be mechanics, doctors, nurses, teachers, et al. You listen too much to ignorant people in government.
They are the ones who tell everyone to go and farm when they don't farm. They tell fresh graduates without experience, exposure and capital to not look for job but create one when with all the money they stole and opportunity they have had they haven't created one job themselves. Foolish leaders who look for ways to dodge their responsibility of first catering for their people.
Oga I didn't say everybody should be farmers, i have never farmed bfre, buh m not complaining about the situation of things because I know tht importation of what we can grow here isn't d way out, its just a postponement of judgement day, if someone is giving d govt 14 days ultimatum to end rice ban, with d excuse of pple r hungry...thts were I have a problem. Even if d 10% mechanized farming tin tht u talked bout starts today, do I tink tht by 2moro ull start seeing d rice n d market..These tins take time... Even if u start today, bfre ull achieve self sufficiency, realistically we r looking at 8-10yrs, but d journey of a thousand miles starts with one step. Thts d step d govt has put in place, partial ban on importation of rice thru land borders.

I pray tht by d middle of 2017, there should be full ban...were any foreign rice in d market should be above 40thousand, tht would discourage importation...

More pple would be forced to go into products of local rice, because it would b production.

U talked about mechanized farming, yl would I go into mechanized farming wen d market is flooded with foreign rice.

If you r complaining tht there is hunger and ur solution is to import rice, go n farm n feed urself. For me I must not eat rice, rice isn't d only food in Nigeria...

They don't know y the countries that came in to help us locate and release the girls left as soon as they came, i believe they knew it was a conspiracy within the northern elites who were bent on wresting power from the "bloody southerner" that usurped their born to rule position and since the northerners re stooges to our colonialists, they to also play along or keep quiet since they will also benefit more at the end of the day if they(the north) eventually get the power because it would be less of a stress to the colonialists compared to wen a non-northerner is there.
