I look in on this thread occasionally. I see it's received some attention lately. My curiosity stems from it being at least three years since the OP started the thread. Perhaps they've had a couple of kids. Maybe ended up with separate partners. She perhaps married the said "bestman". Perhaps some totally unforeseen outcome took hold of things. How exactly did it all go? You kinda owe it to the house. Spill!

New development: It's strange but the 4669XII upstairs has no issue at all whilst the 4920 downstairs has remained red. Firmware upgrade/downgrade has had no noticeable impact. Same dish, same LNB, different switches. So I initially think, "it's the switch."

Weirder, upstairs, I receive Eutelsat 36A & 36B. Same LNB, same dish, same cable (!), I receive 36B downstairs but not 36A. I think it's the HD receiver. Whether the problem is the hardware or software is yet to be puzzled out. Switch testing in final phase (just in case).

I disagree. South of the Benue & Niger, literally any good LNBF will work. I have a shelf loaded with Invacoms, Invertos, Avengers & all sorts - of various types. Most of them aren't worth the cash paid on them. Asides a particular Invacom (for reception of circular waves) & another amazing quad Avenger

Yes the 3.6m is performing,on badr mbc is 70 percent ,jsc sports is 81 percent,fox is 75percent.on nilesat cnn is 70 percent bbc is 64,jsc sports is 64 while mbc is 60 percent.yahsat starmovie HD is 60 mbc HD is 69 percent.hispasat fox sport HD is 60,canal+ 58 percent,natgeo channel 58 and more.

Please, I need the TP on the above mentioned frequencies. I'm beginning to lose optimism on Nilesat. Thanks

I concur. You see, we never truly know the alternative. Surely it would have been different; but would it have been better? Off-guard, nostalgia may creep on you from time-to-time but it's better sticking with your guns. Truly, it hurt like hell when I couldn't have the girl of my dreams but my wife (whom I met much later & at the time had few, if any of the qualities I admire) amazingly evolved to develop the traits I seek. Moreover, physically, she blossomed into a different woman altogether.

I hate to hand it to them but yes, my parents ultimately "forced" me onto a brighter path. Remember, it is often said that "what the youth standing cannot see, the sage sitting has already seen".

Not to say parents don't get it awfully wrong at times. I tell you, prayer is the key.

I recently took delivery of 7 LNBs including Echosat, Inverto, Invacom & Avenger. I can comfortably say dish size & skewing + LNB skewing are the key. Not to say LNB type doesn't matter

jascosix: here in Abuja with my 2.4m strong brand dish, I am able to get cnn, bbc, cctv, so why not you in sokoto where I believe the signal is stronger being closer to the sat footprint. I am using a fuji prime focus lnb.

I'm beginning to think the astra 2f satellite transponder is not performing optimally. Thus the discrepancies in signal reception in different areas.

Things seem to have stabilized. For the moment

Oromia TV, yes. In fact, many of the Eutelsat 16A/Amos 5E channels (seemingly) randomly broadcast both live & old matches.
