Properties / Re: Tips To Reduce Building Costs by sako28: 9:57pm On Dec 07, 2014

This is my first topic on properties section. I want us to contribute on tips to reduce your building cost. I will start with mine.
1. Do your soakaway when you are doing your foundation. Use sand from soakaway to cover the foundation. You can then buy sand to fill up the foundation if you need more sand , then do ur german floor. This will reduce the cost of sand to fill up your foundation.

2.If you are building on a rocky terain like me, sure, the cost is higher. But you can reduce the cost by using the rocks in your house. I dont kow how to explqin this but my ppl call it cracking the stones. Gather the big stones you got while digging ur foundation, call the ppl dt crack stones to crack it for you and use it to build your house. I still have left over from the stone i cracked on my site... Will be using it for the mqin building.

3.Do the roof carcass and ceiling together. if you do ur roof wood works, and later call pl again do he ceiling, the total cost will be higher.

4.For some ppl, the first thing they do in any land they intend to build is sinking borehole or.any oer water source.. The argument is dt since they will later sink borehole, why not sink it first so dt u will cut down on the cost of water during building.

Plz add more.

Sir,
what if u are building in a water log area, can one do soak away first and use the sand to fill foundation?

Thank you.

It depends on her location, if she stays in the north where foodstuffs are generally cheaper, 50k is more than enough but if it is in cities like pH or Abuja...50k is definitely small...seems Madam is still nursing, she can start a little trade at home, she can tell her husband to import all these fashion wears for her to sell...or she starts a daycare or something...cos it's obvious oga is still "struggling" may she ma herself do something take support oga

middle of this year, i got a property worth XX millions. Empty all my accounts. Me and my family managed less than 60k for 1 month( im a salary earner). I drive a jeep, have a baby, and still had good life for d 1 months. It planing and been prudent, and for info i stay in one of 9ja expensive city. Advice buy food in bulk. 1 bag of rice will last you 3 months, 1/2 bag of beans will last you 3 months plus, 10L oil will last u 3 month plus. Reduce your calls. Good Hugo perfume(100ml) it like 10k will last you 4 month.

1/4 basket of Tomatoes is btw 1500-3000( depending on ur location in Nigeria). with 2000 u will buy good quantity of meat that will last minimum 3 weeks. Bundle of water leaf or vegetable is 50 naria. So 5k can do something,at for least 3 week.

FynBabe:
It is obvious you know everything. Did you say 5k can cook soup for one month? With or without meat/fish or what? Its so easy for you to say because you are a man and I'm sure you don't go to the market. Abeg, I don't have energy 4 arguement this morning joor. When you marry, give her 10k for 2months and even expect some change self. Women enter marriage without know what it is? Na your future wife I pity pass. What a mentality!quote author=Fxwarrior post=27244763]

Verily verily I say unto you that family cannot finish a 50kg bag of rice in 3 months.
Oh you even know about buying food in bulk?
A 50kg bag of rice shouldn't be more than 15k depending on brand. Like I said before 5k is more than enough to cook soup for 1 month.
As for children not liking what you give them, it simply means they are not hungry or you are too soft. I have seen where my sister-in-law is feeding my nephew. The little boy will be crying and she will be stucking pap into his mouth notwithstanding. He didn't die, on the contrary he grew fatter as a result of the feeding.
As for snacks you simply fry yam or prepare something and put in their food flasks. I haven't seen anybody that died for not taking snacks. Our parents knew nothing about snacks in their times. If you must buy snacks buy it say a carton of biscuit will last for a term besides all these sugary tins are not good for kids.

Its a pity most women these days enter marriage knowing little or nothing.

Have we ever asked ourselves why successive coaches (foreigners inclusive) have found it difficult to keep mikel out of the eagles?. You will still be disappointed after Keshi must have been removed, because his successor will still invite Mikel.

Please you two relax, no need for all this let us learn from the master. What the Lady is saying is right. It really tight for some people money-wish. Some just have to struggle to build a 2 BRM, packing into the house without windows many must have see this before. Our Master's client would have love to have a very big house if he has the financial strength. And i can bet that Oga Spyder might be doing this as part of his humanitarian service to help the client. I have seen govt worker with 40k per month building a 2 BRM just to have a roof for his family and save them from Land lord wahala. But you see some1 with 2m per month ( arm robber salary) staying in a rent apartment in PHC. Building is determination and you need some1 like Oga Spyder to give some people moral and hope to have a roof for their family. My pastor will always say Cut your coat according to your pocket(money u have) NOT according to your size. 3 BRM would have been good for the client family but consider his pocket size and how he has starve his family some goodies to get this for them.
God bless Oga Spyder, God bless us all and i pray our situation will not be bad to fight for 10 naria change from conductor.lol Amen

It seems you haven't notice that insults, tribalistic and political wars are not really common on property section and honestly we (ppl with comon sense) will like to leave it that way. This is a public forum, you have your opinion and I have mine! There are many ways to disagree with what I said than calling me "wicked" which you have up graded to kidnapping and co! In my honest opinion you sound foolish but I won't call you a fool! And I also know that you will cowardly come back to run your trap some more even though you'lld sound smarter leaving them close!
If you're looking for www war or topics to recieve and insult people, there's a whole lot of them on NL but not in property section.

Autos / Re: Nissan/infiniti Parts Store On Opebi Road by sako28: 11:55am On May 27, 2013
Guys the solution to Nissan gear problem is to change it completely. IT happened to me. I use xterra 2006 USA spec. Did not move the SUV for over 8 months. It developed this fault 2 months after I shipped it in that was in 2010. I made research and found that it was manufacture's error. So This what I later did.
1. Bought a complete gear box. This time a japan spec gear box, change the radiator. And Used the real AFT fluid which is RJ45.
2. Made the gear system separate from radiator system. Ran the gear oil into a fin(small filter) to cool it down. The fin is placed in front of the AC fan that service like a cooling fan for it.

Drove the SUV from Ilorin to PHC a 15 hours drive taking Asaba - Onishta route without any issue than to stop and fuel the car. All I do is Check the oil every week to make sure is in good condition and change oil every year.

So Nisspart is right. Just close ur eye and change the gear box and separate. After that u will enjoy the SUV.

Apryl Michelle Brown had black-market silicone injections which turned out to be BATHROOM SEALANT.

It left her in agony and led to her losing her hands and feet, as well as her buttocks.
The 46-year-old former hairdresser blames “vanity” and wants to warn others of the terrible dangers of such illegal treatments.
Apryl said: “I’ve paid a terrible price for vanity and I’ll pay for the rest of my life. But I blame no one but myself.
“I want to share my story to warn others about these so-called ‘quick fix’ surgeries.
“I didn’t realise the dangers. I thought it was a harmless injection that would give me the perfect bottom. But the reality was the silicone used wasn’t suitable for humans. It was, in fact, bathroom sealant only suitable for DIY.
“My body had a massive allergic reaction to it which left me at the brink of death.
“I was in so much agony that, by that point, dying would have been a release. The only way doctors could save my life was to amputate my buttocks, my hands and feet.”
Teased as a child about her “pancake” bum, Apryl vowed to buy a shapelier one when she was older.
She said: “I didn’t know if I wanted mine to look like Janet Jackson’s or J-Lo’s.

“I didn’t even know how you could do it. I just wanted a new, bigger bottom.”
The moment that changed her life came in 2004, when two women walked into her successful beauty salon to get their hair done.
One of them ran “pumping parties” — where unqualified practitioners inject illegal silicone into “patients” at their home. Apryl, from Los Angeles, said: “One of the women told me how she had given bottom injections to the friend who was with her.“I remember thinking it was a miracle she’d walked into my life. Her friend showed me the work she’d had done and it looked great.“In a split second I made the decision that I was going to go to this woman and let her inject silicone into my behind.”That decision nearly killed her. Apryl paid the woman, who had no medical background, around £650 for two lots of injections. Doctors later discovered the substance used was industrial-grade silicone.
Apryl admitted: “I didn’t do any research. A combination of naivety, misplaced trust and insecurity led me to take this disastrous decision.“I trusted her because she seemed so professional, and I had no reason to think anything awful was going to happen.“She carried out the procedure in her daughter’s bedroom. She assessed my bottom and said, ‘You’ll need three or four sessions to get the result you want’.“The first procedure took an hour. I remember asking, ‘Is it meant to be so painful?’ and she said, ‘Yes’. It felt like it was squeezing through my nerves.”
Within weeks Apryl returned for her second treatment.
She said: “After going through it again I had an epiphany. As I left her house I thought, ‘What am I doing? I have no idea what she’s putting in my body’.
I never returned. But though I didn’t know it then, my life had already changed forever.”
Over the next two years the area where she’d been injected became hard and the skin blackened.
Apryl, mum to daughters Danye, 22 and Courtney, 21, said: “Within a few months of the second injection my buttocks began to harden. I knew something wasn’t right. But shame stopped me seeking medical help. As time went on it got worse as the skin blackened. I developed hard lumps. Then the searing pain started. I had to tell my doctor what I did. I was so ashamed.”
Apryl spent the next four years in constant pain. Two surgeons told her it was too dangerous to remove the silicone.
She said: “I was in so much agony I became a regular at hospital asking for medication to ease what was like a combination of a migraine, childbirth and toothache localised in one area.
In February 2011 a surgeon operated unsuccessfully. Apryl developed a hole in her buttocks — thought to be the trigger for an infection that in June was nearly fatal. She said: “I was 24 hours from dying. I didn’t think of leaving my family. It was a relief I’d finally be free of pain.”
Doctors put her in an induced coma for two months while performing 27 surgeries — starting with amputating her buttocks — and doing extensive skin grafts.
She said: “They saved me but gangrene set into my hands and feet. I was brought out of sedation shortly before I became a quadruple amputee.
“My hands looked like those of a dead person. I knew then I was going to lose them.”
She added: “At first you try to register your new limbs. The real comprehension comes when you start to live this new life.
“I had dark times. I cried a sea of tears. I had to face the fact I’d lost my hands, feet and buttocks because of complications from bottom injections. I was overwhelmed by shame and guilt... all because I wanted a bigger bottom.

“I was six months in hospital. By the time I was discharged I was determined to turn this terrible thing into something positive.
“I decided to do a triathlon. I told myself if I could achieve that I could do anything.
“I took my first steps again by the end of 2011. I built up to training six days a week, learning to walk, cycle then swim again using my residual limbs.“I’d be crying in pain but I’d push through it. And six weeks ago I did it — completing a three-mile walk, ten-mile cycle and a 150-metre swim.“When I crossed that finishing line with my family cheering me on, I cried tears of joy.”She added: “I haven’t sued or sought compensation. I just want to move on. There are things I miss dearly — I’ll never be able to do my girls’ hair or feel sand between my toes.
“But I believe I survived to share my story
“I want to warn others of the dangers of black-market surgery. We were born whole, perfect and complete.
“My greatest message is we have to learn to love and accept ourselves for who we are.”
