What are the advantages of the 1.21p over the previous versions, say 1.10p. For instance, I used the 1.10p because of the AAC sound and about 5% signal boost. Any special reason why one must update to the current software? I still believe if the saying, "If it ain't broken, don't fix it"

I believe you said it right. But as olofofo said, not everythig is to be discussed on the forum because of legal and other matters. Even on RDI forum, there is the disclaimer that nothing on Romanian keys should be discussed. In the same vain, we have pay tv here who are very much interested in what is happening on this forum and they have spies lurking around all long time. Don't you think that posting of some keys may lead to some legal action against the thread?

The best method I believe is what is happening now; being careful of what is going out there and codifying some of the messages. And making personal contact with some of the members that are closer to you also helps a lot. I will tell how much I have benefited from this. The best way of getting the best out of FTA, is practicalising it. As per our telephone conversation, I was telling you about the research we are carrying on on Nile and other out-of-footpriint sats on 2.4m mesh.

And contrary to popular believe, Nile, hotbird, orbit, etc is available in Accra with 3m mesh!

You can tell if a particular (c band) satellite is linear or circular by looking at its transponders. For instance linear polarity transponders end with straight V or H like 4113H or 4001V while circular polarity transponders end with either R or L which still translates to R for V and L for H on your decoder. As you already know, you need a dielectric plate (glass) to be inserted in the lnb t[b]hroat for linear polarity satellites[/b]. There are not too many examples of linear satellites these days as the trend now with is towards circular polarity satellites.

In our sphere trackable linear ones include Thaicom 2,5 @78.5E , Intelsat 7/10 C @68E, Paksat 1 @38E on the (east side) and only Intelsat 1R @45W (west side).

You did not mention which version you used. Anyway, upload the the latest patch thru the pc. It should be ok.

Normally when you come across an information of such nature, it is better you try it and report to the house. Or else as another poster said, people will begin to doubt about the authenticity. I've also heard of such thing, but until I try and test it, I will not post my findings here. Anyway, good job done! But your description of the direction of the wind is a bit hilarious, lol. I go with Sathob with the advice on the reportage.
