swordswifter: @Sathob, thanks for the link but i have been planning on getting the solid dish for ages here but haven't been able to get some on the market here.Most traders don't bring them in because of the prices and import duties usually placed on them.It's only the mesh which is common.Send me a text with where i can get a pan and i'll sure check it out.It might even help me if i get a pan installation contract.Thanks A friend of mine has 2 solid pans and ready to part with one. Let me know if you are interested. Meanwhile, I will check on the sizes. Not too sure if it is 2.4 or 3m |

@All
A friend of mine installed a motorised 2.4 solid pan dish (Saudi type) and he is experiencing some strange occurrences. He said he cannot get both the C and Ku bands channels at the same time unless he disable one before getting another.
He did a lot of troubling shooting: He has changed the di-seq switch, the receiver, the LNB's and the cables. But still the problem persists.
What could be possible wrong?
Thanks |

It seemed the debate where the e.tv is located is raging on. What one needs to understand is that different people at different locations may post different information regarding what one can get within one's location. So any time a member post something on the forum, the first thing is to find the location of the poster then one can make a fair judgement on what is posted.
FYI: Ilish is in Zambia |

salamander: You can use 65cm but use 90cm if you have one. @esuo, sorry, I was referring to Badr 5. With Badr 6, you need at least 3.5m solid pan for those of us in the South. In the north one can get Badr6 with 2.4m dish solid or otherwise. |

I tried the frequency you gave on W2A Ku but nothing came up. I believe it is better if one can indicate one's location so that it could be a guidance in tracking birds. |

Satellite TV Technology › Re: All About Multi Tv Free To Air On Astra 2b by salamander(m): 10:45am On Jul 24, 2010 |
@CRTV
With the issue of CRTV, I don't think they are that serious. They've been making the same advert more than a year ago. And apart from the CRTV they don't show any other channel.
But I will still make enquiries and find out what else do they say they can offer. EPL as you know has been the rights of DSTv only since Gateway was liquidated. |

Paps1: @salamander thanks but a friend of my is using 3m mesh and has been trying to nail that bird, i was wondering if u could be of help. He is also in Accra Well, nothing is impossible. Let's make time during the weekend and see what we can do. Sathob, Ecowas, what are your thoughts? |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Official Thread Of Free To Air Satellite Tv (part 4) by salamander(m): 5:06pm On Jun 28, 2010 |
@Ecowas
Yes, I got the stuff and the bird is flying very high! In fact, higher!
@Paps1
I use 2.4m mesh, but I cannot get Nilesat. And I don't think anyone here especially those in the South, could get the that bird on 2.4m mesh. My best bet could be 4m solid with prime focus LNB. |
