Change is the only constant thing.
Why dont we use the 1980 betteles? Why do an apprentice go to the master to learn new ideas from him? But form the pics you will see the obvious truth.

What truth are you talking about? That we didnt abandon our dressing for the white mans? We are satisfied with and proud of our dressing. When the need arises, we may dress in shirts and suits but those will never replace our traditional wears. We dont relegate our traditional wears to become only ceremonial. please tell me, from the pictures posted there, what and what do you think we should change?

I took my time to look at the pics posted here, they only set of people that never changed both in dress sense and environment is the NORTH, Nothing changed atall.
They aint agents of change, they prefer there primitive selfs.
Its only people like you who dress like the Neaderthals that will view western dressing as civilisation. For us, who dont need the white man to rescue us from primitive life of hunting and gathering, there is no need to change our mode of dressing. Look at our architecture, compare it with yours or that of any part of Nigeria, you would find in ours a rather advanced architecture that cant be found anywhere else. In all those pictures shown, the positive things about the North in that era have been shown. Can you please show us your own part of the country as at then lets make comparisons?

Dharniel:
give it up for the best tribe in Nigeria in terms of culture and traditions.
Yoruba people don't sweat it, being successful is our thing, we are just too good.
no sentiments.

Best tribe when it comes to culture and tradition? I dont agree with such. You cant have the best culture and traditions and yet relegate your traditional clothing to ceremonies alone. When it comes to culture and tradition, we Hausas beat you to it.

Education / Re: JAMB Releases Most Sought-after Universities In Nigeria (check Details) by Salym(m): 3:52pm On Jun 04, 2017

Really, the ones that were admitted in my days on quotas for educationally disadvantaged states failed woefully 100 level and left.
If they are that good what's their population even in the northern schools that's their home? How many northerners score up to 250 in JAMB yearly?
"Sleeping with ladies or selling grades" Oh, you are so convinced that Northern girls don't sleep to get grades or Northern lecturers don't sleep with your female students? How naive you must be, that's the most laughable thing ever heard.
See. You said those admitted based on quota systems. Meaning those who are not qualified. You can do a good job by telling us who they were and how they found themselves in your university. Did u say 250? Way back in 2006 I scored well above 250 so also other students. Oh yes, sleeping with students and selling grades are more rampant in the South than North. Another joke, tell me which university in the North has southern students as the majority. In both my BSc and MSc we have southern students who never beat their Northern counterparts. You people will stay down south and just be believing anything you are told about the North. Travel and explore the country before reaching conclusions please.

There are peculiar attributes that set these 2 Unies (UNIBEN &UNILORIN) out; They are culturally centralized with little or no tribal dominance like most other schools in the country.
Cultural and language Blending is superb in UNIBEN. The only people you can't in good numbers in UNIBEN are the core Northerners who were raised in the core north (they can't cope with the academic demands of the school and the lecturers), those core northerners who grew up in the south are able to cope and fit in.
Most schools in the East are Igbo dominated and their language reigns in the air, likes schools in West, Yoruba language dominates and reigns.
Same is the story of Northern schools.
GREATEST UNIBEN!
Saying Northerners cant cope with academic demands and lecturers in Uniben is absolute trash. What demands are you talking about? Sleeping with ladies or selling grades? Northerners are generally not attracted to Southern universities not because many cant cope but because of certain reasons. Northerners think badly of the South same way you people think badly of the North. That is the major reason you hardly find Northerners in Southern Schools. Even if u will give them free admission many will still prefer not to go.

Thank you very much bro
You are welcome. By the way, just board a bus from Warri to Kaduna (if there is any). You will alight at Mando. Just take a bus (less than N50) to kawo park. You will get a bus to Katsina. The camp is located in Katsina the capital. Or board a bus to Kano. Get a taxi or keke to park. board a bus to Katsina. However, the former will be easier than the latter considering distance between motor parks.

Culture / Re: Emir Sanusi's Grandfather Was Dethroned In 1963 & It's About To Repeat Itself by Salym(m): 10:11am On May 14, 2017
Sanusi has been behaving like an activist rather than a leader people look up to. What he did is akin to a state governor blasting his people on the media about bribery, corruption, lack of amenities and so forth without putting the resources available to him to make a change to peoples lives. A perfect example is the case of Dickson the governor of Bayelsa state who termed his people lazy and also talked about their backwardness. What has he done to change the mindset of his people and improve their lives? The answer is none. People here on Nairaland abused the living daylight out of him. Ofcourse what sanusi said have been problems the North faces. What we lack is the first person to take the bull by the horn and start the process of change. Why he didnt take that chance and write his name in gold in the annals of history but prefer using big words to abuse people is best known to him.

Properties / Re: Who Should Supervise A Building Project; Architects, Builders Or Engineers by Salym(m): 12:01pm On Feb 09, 2017
All have different roles they play on a construction site:
The architect is employed by the client. The roles of an architect include:
1 Creation of preliminary drawings
2 Preparation of contract documents
3 Participation in tendering and selection of a winning bid
4 Issuance of instructions on site to the contractor (Instructions must be given before anything is carried out)5
5 Issuance of payment certificates
6 Ensuring that works done conform to drawings and instruction
7 Preparation of progress report and chairing of meetings in sites without project managers
8 Issuance of final payment certificate after defect liability period

The roles of an Engineer (Structural)
1 Design structural drawings
2 Issue instructions related to structures
3 Ensure that work done conform to instructions

The builder is usually employed by the contractor. The roles of a builder include:
1 Supervision of tradesmen and ensuring that the architect/engineer's instructions are followed to the latter. It can be said that the builder works directly with artisans on site.
NB. These are mostly the roles on large construction sites. Roles may be altered in smaller sites as the case may be.

[quote author=cramjones post=51656663]This is absolutely lovely. It is stupid to do two weddings because you feel your own traditional wedding is inferior. White wedding is not biblical. It is oyinbo's traditional wedding. Let us learn to either do one or the other. Doing two weddings is another stupid thing Africans have adopted. China, Israel, India etc, they all do their traditional wedding ceremonies and are done, but the stupidity and inferiority complex of Africans leads them do two weddings!

Congrats to the couple!

-CramJones[/quote
Do not say what you dnt knw. Its not all Nigerians that do two weddungs not to talk of Africa in general. In the North, we do only one wedding.

You can download revit tutorials because you are obviously a novice. You can also get material library ftom colleagues, that will enhance your rendering. You also have to know how to tweak your materials to achieve a realistic look. All in all, its not a bad start. You can improve with time.
