PoliticsRe: Otedola Sues Tambuwal, Lawan For N250 Billion Damages by SamAfrik(m): 8:56am On Nov 09, 2012
greaterlove: Like i have said earlier on previous posts related to this and will say now on this post, as far as this case is concerned Otedola is 100% right. you might hate him for whatever you think he has done in the past but on this issue he has farouk and tambuwal in the balls, on this issue you cant fault him except there are other facts we know not of. on the 250billion even otedola knows the court wont grant him that, they might settle for some few billions or even hundreds of millions if it goes in otedola favour. instead of calling otedola names we should encourage him on this court case to put this legislators in check because tomorrow it might be you that will be intimadated by an 'honorable'.
Thank you for this comment. I find it hard to know why Nigerians tend to reason up-side-down. This is a clear case of extortion and misuse of power by an elected officer. Who video-taped the transaction & brought the case to public knowledge? Was it not the same accussed 'briber'?. Westrern press ( e.g. BBC) have been able to expose some corrupt officers e.g our high ranked FIFA official (name witheld) using same style as Mr. Otedola. It was even Farouk that approached Femi. What would Nigerians be saying if it was Femi that first approached the legislator?
Nigerians should be praising this man for standing against our corrupt politicians...not the other way round. All I'm asking is Nigeirans please lets think for once.

What a thought stimulating article! Weldone OP. Yes some of us are still grateful for the academic foundation given to us by our noble Ghanian teachers. Uncle Alfred and Uncle George easily come to my mind.
Obviously, SW Nigeria had prospered and enjoyed symbiotic relationship with neighbouring countries even before the influx of eastern brethren. lol ;
Africans should all learn to live in peace abeg.

Does Nigeria lack the mental & infrastructural capacity to conduct simple investigations. Why is it so difficult for d courts to decide someone's innocence?

Stories like this saddens me.
God please in your infinite mercies, bless Nigeria with good, selfless & innovative leaders so that we can stop wasting the glorious lives of our youths. AMEN.

Finished secondary sch in 2005. Nigeria loosing its youths. Is the govt making conscious efforts to reverse this trend?
The society shd also reduce its emphasis on money money money.
PoliticsRe: Why US Army Is Recruiting Hausa, Igbo by SamAfrik(m): 4:18pm On Nov 03, 2012
Its not abt taking opportunities in d US in d face of limited ones in present day Nigeria, but this recruitment doesnt call 4 celebrations of any kind. I prefer to see Nigerians (regardless of tribe) in d coporate & science sectors. Then I'd celebrate
PoliticsRe: Why US Army Is Recruiting Hausa, Igbo by SamAfrik(m): 3:51pm On Nov 03, 2012
Lest I forget. When the US are ready to recruit into silicon valley for d next tech advancement then they shd give d Indians & Yorubas a call.
God bless America.

Funny thread. All my Igbo peeps rejoicing over ds devpt only shows dy are more interested in opportunities than risk involved (very typical). How many of d recruits will ever get to commanding officers (senior ranks)?

EducationRe: Letter To All Nigerian V.cs by SamAfrik(m): 10:44am On Oct 31, 2012
afam4eva: Why mjust the VCs be close to the students? Don't they have HODs and professors. Do they want to kidnap the VC? If you don't want to learn then get out and start learning mechanic or conductor. No be by force to go school.
One of the dumbest post have come across on NL. Why are you easterners emphasizing kidnapping? This sort of crime cant get a footing in the SW.
Leaders are close to thier subjects world over. Its only in naija (or africa) that we have this master - slavery kind of of attitude.
EducationRe: Letter To All Nigerian V.cs by SamAfrik(m): 10:37am On Oct 31, 2012
Flyboy Zee: @ OP. Nobody, not even the so-called Politicians wishes to hide away from the masses, the truth remains that you will not understand how busy these people can get as soon as they get into these offices, until when you work with them or fill in one of those offices. Secondly, if you talk more closely with the VC, you would have notice that there would have been like a handful of people that wants him out of that office by all means and as such, he has to protect himself by mostly avoiding the public or else he is a dead man walking.
Are Nigerian VCs busier than thier counterparts in Europe, USA, or even South Africa? Mr. Flyboy, our problem is attitude, the same Fashola is campaigning against. And, how many Nigerian VCs have been murdered? Nigeria has no gun probs unlike SA, yet South African VCs maintain good contacts with students.

Great job guys.
As expected katsu was academic & structured. If d debate was conducted in front of all Nigerians, I think Obino wld win d vote: he appealed to people's emotions.
It requires a degree of intelligence to understand Katsu's perspective.
EducationRe: Oyedepo To Lay Third Varsity Foundation In January 2013 by SamAfrik(m): 12:24pm On Oct 24, 2012
I still believe the solution to the multi-dimensional problems Nigeria is facing lies with the CHURCH. Nigerian churches have so much wealth, power & influence.
Imagine what will happen if all our big 'indigenious' churches come together and decide to take up more social work in addition to thier spiritual responsibilities .... They can indeed make a huge difference in our contemporary world.
Kudos to those that are already working to reduce the unemployment level.

PoliticsRe: Fashola, Obi Disagree On Geo-political Zones, Constitutional Amendment by SamAfrik(m): 11:48am On Oct 19, 2012
Policewoman: Cerebral topics like this always attract intellectuals and the intelligensia of NL. I am yet to see tribal bigots like Dayokanu, CyberG, yemiluv, kasumoto e.t.c make any contribution here. If it is tribal bashing time, their comments have reached the 7th page by now.
Pls make your own contribution and leave "bigots" alone. BTW I think katsumoto is one of the most intelligent personalities on NL, his arguments are always structured and objective.
PoliticsRe: Fashola, Obi Disagree On Geo-political Zones, Constitutional Amendment by SamAfrik(m): 11:43am On Oct 19, 2012
Fashola talks like a philosopher. If he keeps going like this I see him giving the whole of Nigeria a sound legacy and lasting principles in the class of Socrates and other grand philosophers.
Attitude is the bane of development & prosperity in Nigeria. Every sector needs behavioral overhaul e.g politics, education,& even religious institutions. For example,I have seen VC of a prestigious university in south africa driving himself to school every morning in his old personal car, yet this is an institution that no Nigerian university can match in academic research, facilities & funding. Our own VCs can't even open their (official) car door by themselves without the help of tens of securities attached to them, even when facilites in their schools are fast decaying.
Obi on the other hand proffered only superficial solutions to d countries prob, while Chief Clark is only clamouring what ND are known for i.e resource control = more money.
Cant stop liking this man called Fashola, and I will be proud to call him boss one day. He has a leadership style that has caught my fancy.
