And d north keep destroying itself #autodestruct mode set#. Goodluck to them. Honestly, Im more corncerned abt d hausa christians. Cos I think d moslems among them av not done enough 2 stop this nonsense. |
Im yoruba. And my culture has taught me not to generalise but relate to pple on individual basis. So few hausas (christians)I have related with, have been exceptional, especially the lady frm Zuru tribe - humble, calm, hospitable (one of the best). My Hausa guy was quite cool too. My former pastor and one other guy (calm and generous) have been the Igbos that have impressed my so far. I will like Igbos to change this "we versus them"/ "everybody is against us" attitude. I believe Nigeria is home to some of the best tribes of Africa, if we can respect each other and work more together. |
I'm Fashola's fan cos of his unique attitude to governance, but will still prefer him as president @ later elections than 2015. I also like Soludo but will like to test is administrative abilities as governor or senator b4 considering him for president. |
One thing pple fail 2 realise is dt u'r d one loosing out if u use sentiments 2 prevent somehow capable frm leading u. Just as Awo was nt voted 4 as president, yet u complain when he performed wonders in d SW region dt gave him d mandate as Premier. |
I think there is a wide disconnection btw leaders & masses. Most leaders do not seem to know d responsibilities on them, so rather than helping d masses they see themselves as 'big men' & rather keep stealing money inorder to maintain their 'class'. |
Now this is a serious govt. Deserves commendation. |
You need to go ask d 'koras' - Lebanesse expatriates (notably d Zard family) controlling d economy of Ibadan how much dy are enjoying Ib and taking to their homeland annually. Ibadan sure has what it takes to compete wit d best in Africa. |
Nothing wrong wit d rusty roof (those are d inner city). Many magnificient modern buildings sprawled across d city. Im sure u still find old buildings in historical palces like Prague, Rome etc. Those old buildings in IB av their stories, blieve me. |
What an awesome first day it was!!! And so many new commers in church too (SA pple too dey try o), that even waited till end of prog around 12 midnite...sure all were blessed. To all focusing on money on NL: pls find yourself a viewing centre or better still connect on-line. Nobody compels you to give money @ Winners. Dont miss powerful words God is sending through His servants. I have been in Winners for some years now: No single fundraising has been conducted! The church only collects offerings and tithe (which are normal christian practices). And Shiloh sacrifices are for those who have the understanding (not forced on anybody), and I guess it is an ancient godly convenant practice so nothing new! Be blessed. |
Excited already! Just movin out of my research station...do some stuff in town...then im @ church in d midst of brethen. May av 2 use internet later but today- I must be in CHURCH. Expectin 'Alagbara bi ara' & 'oma meeeh' frm d cananland choir 2nite. |
My President why not focus more on creating equal opportunities for Nigerians by removing quota system regarding employment and other govt benefits. Assimilation of non-indegienes to the politics of an area is better allowed to evolve naturally rather than imposed by law. People shd be allowed to ask a non-indigene to represent them (as we have seen in some places) rather than the non-indigene claiming his right by law. I dont even think this law can easily be passed anyway...tooo much complications. At least no person is being denied the right to own a property and live comfortably in any part of Nigeria. |
Well, not much tourist attractions in Ib. But visit Mapo hall- d great building of d old west, @ Oja Oba. You can visit d first TV station in Africa (NTA Ibadan). You also get to see lots of ancient architectural buildings @ d interior Ib. Enjoy ur hols |
Well, SA and other African countries are also preparing for Shiloh 2012. Come in faith & consecration that our service to God be acceptable. It is the golden age of the church & here is opportunity to align ourselves to God's plan 4 this time. Be blessed. |
teniyi: Oyinlola and CAN (State of Osun, branch) are defeated already. Please dont drag CAN to this. Overwhelming support for Aregbesola came from chrisitans. Or do you suggest we start voting according to religious inclinations in the west? |
The gov looks very funny in that pix. I guess the principle of "Omoluabi" is being used as guide for our race, your religious affliations notwitstanding. I know a chrisitan woman (not a politician)that donates tons of beverages to a mosque during thier fastings. And what can I say about inter-religious marriages? The yoruba culture is too deep to allow religious sentiments to becloud our reasoning and love for humanity. Of course there was massive support for Ajimobi & Aregbesola (muslims) over Akala & Oyinlola (christians) even in the xtian community. The muslims I guess also vote for candidate's personality accordingly. Yoruba race : forward ever backward never!!! |
Pls dont let get too emotional. This ranking might be right considering d standard of living & infrastructural dept in Nig. What would d researchers stand to gain by ranking Nig low? I dont see why we cant be in top 10. |
He's a sagamite. Condolence to his family. Hope d killers repent of their ways. |
I will keep preaching this..... Nigeria needs a complete change of attitude & dis starts wit our politicians & public service. I'v received far better treatment outside (e.g SA) than in my home country Naija. We make things unnecessarily hard. |
Though I adore Fashola but dont quite agree wit him here. I used to envy my classmates in d secondary who read d yoruba novels wit ease. The yoruba bible also remains d best ever translation work. Yoruba scholars e.g. Pa Fagunwa, Faleti, Odunjo. |
No level of devpt can make chinese replace English as a formal way of communticatn worlwide. So d teachin of chinese shd nt go beyong oral/informal. Attentn shd rather be on consolidating our use of English (formal) & upgrading d written yoruba in schs. |
All I know is that Nigeria deserves better. The entire civil service needs serious revamping. When Nigerians are served better by all govt parastatals, then I see the country making huge progress. This of course requires leadership wit good attitude. |
Nice one Gov. Its really good to see infrastural devpt in my place of birth. Ibadan d ancient city. The home of hospitality. |
Why cant we just learn to make civil comments? These are beautiful human beings here not animals. The peagant is a good concept. And congrats to all participants. Im always attracted to women with good character & these damsels may be endowed with such |
Congrats fine girl. Your mum is very talented too. 'Abeni wan fun won lorin waka titun, Ibiwunmi wan fun wo lorin waka titun'lol You look cool & gentle. wish you d best (esp. regarding marriage). |
I wonder if some pple think at all b4 talking. Who says d SW doesnt want restructring. Just because d SE is waking up now doesnt mean d SW has nt been active. Creation of states has affectd SW devpt more than any region. @ sleekdot u just got urself a fan. |
Nice. Wit d recognition Nigerian artists are getting, more youths will be encouraged to take that career rather than crime. I wish govt cld revitalise sports like this. Good luck to him. |
Lots of professionalism is also needed in d electronic media, especially d national station NTA. In summary all sectors in Nigeria need to be more professional in their duties. |
Guys, this isnt abt d govt's hold but pure unprofessionalism. Wat do u say to d reporter taking close shots of dead pple? Also, social/human angle stories are distorted and even leave readers wit more questns. |
Its a good development for Africans in the diaspora to start connecting to their ancestral home. Im not surprised by those retaining thier culture cos Yoruba is too deep & interesting to do away with. Good luck to our children outside d continent. |
Igbos are too arogant & egoistic to enjoy support from d south- westerners. Yorubas love humble pple like themselves. This proposed law cant do us any good cos Nigeria isnt an homogenous nation. It favours d migratory tribe only. |
Condolence to his wife (alhaja), his children & d people of Felele (Ibadan) where I once lived. |
Definately one of d most enligtning articles I av read. And I cant believe after going through 11 pages no sensible point can be drawn frm all the writer's critics. I wonder who will cure these pple of their self-destructive mentality. |
