I have seen couples of spurs games in the EPL this season, and they haven't been too convincing. Besides the europa and capital one cup, spurs have just been grinding out results against average teams in the EPL. We saw them against Arsenal, despite dominating play, they lack that killer finishing in the final third which is always important when you play big teams. If Chelsea plays the way they played Everton although they lost, it would be difficult for spurs. This fixture is always difficult to predict any day, but I pray my team Chelsea wins..

Test results have been out for about 3wks now, interview invites were sent to successful candidates.. We had interviews about 2wks ago. The first batch of trainees started training on Monday. My friend was enrolled in d first batch. The next batch would begin in maybe January, hoping to be in that batch.

On oshiomole. ,I understand the chaotic nature of edo politics and the attribution of roads and other physical infrastructure to performance in nigeria .
What is lacking in all these places is strategic planning and job creation?

While fashola is strategically positioning Lagos to vaccum up a significant portion investment coming into the west African sub region ;from banking ,tourism ,transportation ,manufacturing to even oil and gas ,I cannot see any other person including the presidency with any simple and viable plan.
Most of the their efforts have been haphazard
,half baked and utterly useless.

Within a very small radius Enugu ,akwa ibom and PH are vying to be a full fledge international airport status.we also have ASABA not too far away.this balkanisation of status is already a strategic failure.
We also have the warri ports ,calabar ports,port harcourt ports but militancy and piracy already makes them unviable .
The higher cost of insurance for merchant ships makes it costlier than Lagos .

HBD Akwa Ibom. I started residing in this state some few months ago and all I can say is Akwa Ibom Ayaya. The beautiful places, excellent road networks not forgetting the luxurious places like tropicana and meridian hotels. The only issue is power which I know the governor is trying to fix when the ibom plant begins full functionality. Akpabio is really working and the people of akwa ibom are enjoying the dividend of democracy. Once again I SAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY AKWA IBOM..

After reading the news on nairaland, did you go a step further to verify such news on international news channels like cnn and BBC? Now you talk as if it was nairaland that labeled the incident as an Islamic terrorist attack. Al–shabab has come out to claim responsibility so I don't know what rubbish you spewing here. aggrieved G-7 governors and other
leaders of the Abubakar Kawu
Baraje faction of the Peoples
Democratic Party, PDP, got
underway last night to resolve the
crisis in the party, there were
indications that the nPDP may have
adjusted its earlier demand that
President Goodluck Jonathan should
not seek a second term in office. This
came as the National Chairman of
the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur has
appealed to leaders of the new PDP
to embrace dialogue saying the
problem can be resolved in a family
way.
The governors who were present at
the meeting with President Jonathan
which began at about 3.30 pm at the
first Lady’s conference room,
yesterday, were Rotimi Amaechi
(Rivers), Babangida Aliyu (Niger),
Sule Lamido (Jigawa), Abdulfattah
Ahmed (Kwara) Murtala Nyako
(Adamawa), Ibrahim Shema
(Katsina), Ibrahim Dankwambo
(Gombe), Liyel Imoke (Cross River)
and Idris Wada (Kogi). As usual, the
meeting which was earlier
scheduled for the presidential villa
at 9.00pm Sunday was closed to
journalists.
Sources among the governors at the
meeting disclosed at the weekend
that in the place of the earlier
demand that President Jonathan
should not seek re-election, the
nPDP was last night set to demand
that he gives practical and
irrevocable evidence of allowing due
process in the nomination process
for the party’s 2015 presidential
candidate. Top of the evidence, it
was learnt, is the sack of Alhaji
Bamanga Tukur as national
chairman and restoration of party
executives in Adamawa and Rivers
states.
Ahead of the crucial meeting with
the president, the G7 governors
aligned to the nPDP met at the
Samora Machel, Asokoro, Abuja
residence of the factional chairman
of the party, Alhaji Kawu Baraje.
The G7 governors and their
associates in the preparatory
meeting at Baraje’s house rehearsed
strategies on how to approach the
meeting with the president and the
faction led by Tukur especially on
the crucial demand that the
president reveal whether he would
run or not in the 2015 contest.
The decision to readjust the strategy,
it was learnt, may not be
unconnected to the campaign by
presidential aides that the governors
were asking the president to commit
himself to an unconstitutional
demand by ruling himself out of the
2015 contest.
“This is not about 2015, but we want
the president to provide clear
guarantees that due process would be
allowed to prevail in the party in all
matters relating to the party and also
the presidential contest,” one of the
governors in the forefront of the
nPDP told our correspondent.
Another source close to one of the
nPDP governors disclosed that the
governors were to be informed by
the president whether or not he
would contest in 2015.
At the last peace meeting last
Tuesday, Governor Babangida Aliyu
of Niger State had reportedly
demanded that Dr. Jonathan reveal
to the nation whether or not he
would seek the 2015 presidential
ticket of the PDP, but he was
rebuked by Governors Idris Wada of
Kogi and Liyel Imoke of Cross River
State who argued that the demand
was uncalled for.
Appealing to the leaders of the new
PDP, in a statement signed,
yesterday, by the PDP National
Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa
Metuh, the National Chairman,
urged the seven aggrieved governors
and other members of the nPDP not
to play into the hands of those who
hate Nigeria and the nation’s
democracy.
According to the statement, the
ongoing political quagmire was
designed to portray President
Goodluck Jonathan in bad light,
adding that no problem in the PDP
family was insurmountable.

Forester45: How do you expect me to avoid your thread when you are clearly being mislead. I cant keep quite and allow you to remain in ignorance. How can you explain the fact that students graduated from Nigerian university are being retrained by multinational companies like SHELL just because of poor infrastructure in our universities.
Try and visit universities in Malaysia, Ghana and see for yourself if what we have in Nigeria are qualified to be called a university.
Students are staying sixteen in one room in Nigerian universities.
Students go out of university environment looking for an institution to analyze their project/research work.
It may interest you to know that we still have empty libraries existing in our universities.
We still have pre-colonial equipments in our universities.
Are we talking about bad roads in our university, lack of water, light, and toilet facilities. Students of higher institutions are doing so called short-put. How many university in Nigeria has Electron Microscope?, and yet you are comfortable with all these abnormalities. It is very unfortunate. If students supports ASUU to address this issue ones and for all, is it bad?
Students should sacrifice and join the struggle lets get it right.
It is sad that students are always at the receiving end, but our government should be held accountable. They are not doing well. You are a witness. This is a simple logic, if the government cant fulfill all ASUU demands, let them work out modalities on how to address it in a gradual process. Government is deceiving the masses if u are not aware. FG/ASUU 2009 agreement should be implemented or they should present to ASUU a written document to show they will implement it within a stipulated period of time, even if it will take them 8yrs, that's all.

Rubbish post.. Multinationals still train foreign graduates, They call it on the job training OJT..ASUU should call off the stupid strike. we have seen frantic efforts being made by the government to tackle the situation. The rot which have bedevilled our educational system for decades won't be solved in a single day or by incessant strikes.

Even if Tukur is sacked, the next chairman is going to be hand picked by the President. The principal officers of the party have already been selected in the last convention who are all loyal to the president, which still means a smooth ride by GEJ in the primaries. I think the rebel governors are very confused, clutching to straws in a last desperate attempt to make their breakaway look like a successful adventure. I hoped they have shoved the other requests in their ass because GEJ has the right to contest the 2015 elections and the EFCC must be given the free rein to perform it's duty and prosecute anyone.
