You should watch Dimeji Bankole on the same blog. he's the master of speech and confidence. i wish all nigerian leaders could be as articulate. |
you are absolutely right gettysburg |
I was just quoting OBJ in the video ![]() |
One should even say HURRAY to Nigeria? |
That Steve is just wrong. I must say obj spoke well towards the end with the "you could be alleged as a liar" part |
Obasanjo doesnt know about president Bashir he doesnt read |
brutal first five minutes!! |
i thought that was a nigerian thing ![]() |
hmm I know Dr. Vincent Ola. He has a good reputation. |
NaJa HaJe:You are an absolute idiot. You could have just typed your last sentence and moved on to another thread rather than resorting to razz, abusive language with appalling grammar. What is it from my post that induced your opinion that I'm into my room-mate's life as a hobby? And in what manner did I imply that I was at all bothered? We got into a cheery argument and he wanted opinions from Nigerian forumers over 13yrs old. dummy |
I share an apartment with a friend from an Island in the Eastern Caribbean. He has a girlfriend from the same Island, but she lives the states. Every single day, an average of 40 text messages are exchanged, about an hr in phone calls, and they have a minimum of 4-5hrs of video calls on messenger every night (please re-read the last sentence to fully realize the magnitude of time they spend communicating). I told him that's just plain sick. His excuse: she loves a lot of attention (his ex-girlfriend was just like that- maybe even worse). This kind of act is very typical of most relationships I've seen in the Caribbean, so it seems very normal. I told him it's all insane; that I can't date a Caribbean girl cos I can't handle all that "tab-keeping", and that I'm speaking for most Nigerians- both male and female. I argued that we are not attention freaks, that our girls don't want their guys calling them every other hour and texting every half hr, and I'm damn well sure Nigerian men don't want their ladies checking their every move. I told him they have trust issues, and their are hiding under the pretext of "attention cravings" He said I should speak for myself, and ask other Nigerians on my forum what they think. I think it's one annoying turn-off. What do you think? |
Igbo, Yoruba. . . what's the difference to a freaking ghanaian ![]() |
but for the north, the "over 70% of nigeria's population is living under poverty line" quote dem CNN love so much would be pure fantasy. |
nothing nothing! would bring an inch of smile to nigerians' faces, even if nigeria becomes the next super power tomorrow! I heard Akunyili's take on the idea, and it was quite pleasing. . . You are right: Nigeria doesn't need re-branding; the misanthropic cynics called Nigerians- which I'm so unfortunate to share a title with- need re-orienting. I live in Barbados, you'll be surprised how mediocre its systems are; but they believe in their 'farm-sized' nation, and actually think there's no better place on earth. . . and each citizen strives to keep it that way with discipline, hospitality, personal hygiene, support etc I've come to appreciate my home too. We have an awful lot! we are just blind, and addicted to lynching politicians at any movement of their pens. |
hulu only works in the US |
If I show myself with pics here hmmm. . . |
We have to consider morals. "Homosexuality is not normal, and it's not African!" I get sick to the groin when I see overt "battymen" cart-walking around school here; and hoping your pen falls so they can check out your behind. I just thank God one will seldom find a openly gay Nigerian. . . I hope I never meet him ![]() |
I jus pray it gains again. its really killing me here. ![]() |
epi:I think the idea of soul food is just lame. Is it African American? how do they define it? |
Food is Ready! delightful ![]() |
what the hell |
No you are not cursed; you are 21. |
Get familiar with Africans, maybe take a vac there. you'll be surprised how much you have in common, and how much you don't. People in the Caribbean- as small as it is- are quite different. I'll feel easily connected to a Grenadian or Vincy, than I would a Barbadian; mostly because they are over-adopting western systems so they seem confused. . ![]() |
