Congrats I think approvals are coming in more

Rennie97:
Approval alert guys!!!!
I'm writing this to encourage everyone that has lost hope in their application or even discouraged.
I'm a second time applicant my first application took 9 weeks only to be denied on the basis of limited employment opportunities in home country.
Application submitted - October 22
Medical request - November 25
Medical completed - December 3rd
Medical passed - December 11
Approval - December 13
My profile
Bsc accounting just finished NYSC December 2018
Going for MBA finance
Documents submitted
Admission letter
NYSC certificate
Corper request from my PPA
I continued interning for them till July this year
My dad's SOA showing 10m balance
My dad owns his own company so the CAC documents (we're all directors)
My internship letter with company letter head
Sponsorship letter from my dad
Photocopy of landed properties
BTW I tackled my refusal reason with the letter from my. PPA showing that I am employable I'm also a chartered accountant my dad also wrote a letter with his letter head stating I'm a director and I'm just going to learn how to manage the business till my other siblings are grown enough and that he'll soon retire.
Honestly it was a journey and God played a big role in it. Do your best package as best as you can pray hard too even harder than you put your documents together and leave it for God don't give up. Trust me I was always refreshing this thread daily I don't close it on my web browser.
It has ended in praise for me I hope to see more success stories.
Anyone going to VIU Nanaimo please hit me up

Thank you for your response. I would work on it

Hello Sammyfrance23,

Its more advisable to show study progression. A 'PGD/C' or a Master would be a better preference to a Diploma after a Bachelor.

All the best.

Good evening everyone please I need your opinion on this ..
I got admission into New Brunswick college of craft and design to study digital media. I’m a graduate of Computer Science with 3.8/5 CGPA . So I met with Maple Education and was advice not to process it because due to the fact that the VO might not see it as a good reason because it’s a diploma course.
So I deferred till next fall.
Now I want to know if I should go ahead with the visa application or just apply for a masters degree or a PGDC??

Thank you. I’ve already made a decision to apply myself with the information here. But then I would like to know if I should proceed

Cjleks:

Don't feel your visa will be approved even with Maple. They don't influence the issuance of visa. Don't waste your money with them. Information gathered here is more than helpful stick to it.

Hello Sammyfrance23,

Your CGPA isn't too bad to secure a funding for a Master programme. However, the GPA of your last 2yrs in your UG studies counts a lot. However, what really matters in securing funding are:

1. Securing a supervisor

2. A well constructed research statement about your research interest.

3. A good reference letter

4. Having publications is a plus.

You can check Memorial University, University of Victoria, Brocks University, University of Waterloo.

Good luck.

Okay what do you advice. I should apply for post graduate certificate? By the way I am a female
Qudkom:

I understand the only chance is if the applicant maintained a "B" average in his last 2-4 semesters. Although I understand where you're coming from and admission officers won't discourage you from applying even if they know how competitive their requirements are. Most schools also encourage you to submit GMAT, GRE, letter of intents, Proof of work experience etc. Just to boost chances.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by sammyfrance23: 4:40pm On Nov 17, 2019
Thanks so you mean I can’t apply for a masters degree?

Qudkom:

Honestly speaking no. Your CGPA doesn't qualify you for an msc program or PhD program. This are only the programs that gets scholarships.

My question is do I stand a chance of getting a full funded scholarship in any designated learning institution in Canada?
Please your reply would be highly appreciated.

Kindly note that the following status did not change throughout my application process:
1. Background checks
2. Review of eligibilty

Programme applied for and offered admission in: Graduate Certificate in Supply Chain management (1 academic year duration)
Institution: Mohawk College

I have a BSc in Agricultural economics and farm management (Bowen University Iwo), and a MSc in Agricultural economics (Reading University).
I currently work with my family farm business; as a farm inventory manager.

Documents I submitted with my application:
1. Letter of acceptance from Mohawk College
2. MSc degree certificate and transcript
3. BSc degree certificate and transcript
4. NYSC certificate
5. WAEC certificate
6. Previous copies of travel stamps and visas to show travel history.
7. Statement of purpose/intent: I had to give a background of my work and academic history, and went further to explain how studying supply chain management would help build my skillsets and in turn help me when I return to the family business in Nigeria.
8. Sponsorship letter from my Dad.
9. Copy of sponsor passport data page
10. Proof of funds: This consisted of my dad’s statement of account, his landed properties, receipt of acceptance fee of $1600 paid to my school (I did not provide any personal proof of fund).
11. I also did not provide any letter of introduction from the family company, stating my salary. Although I did provide details of my employment status in the online IMM form.
12. The company’s CAC documents and audited account statement for last year were provided as well.

I arranged all the additional files into one pdf file and detailed it well with a table of content. A friend who also got approval before me advised this.

Above all be prayerful; be helpful to others, and I believe yours will come too. Again thanks a lot Nairaland family.

If anyone needs further clarification or assistance with their application, feel free to drop a message here, so everyone can benefit from it.

Best wishes.

Congrats, I pray for favor for every intending applicants.

I am not a VO, but left to me, I will approve this application without thinking twice.. Its just unfortunate u applied during the time their quota got filled up for the year cos in the past 2 months, we havnt witness any approval here despite the tight applications we see here.. Its either Nairobi hates Nigeria aplicants generally or their quota for the year is filled up... Anyways today was their election, lets wait and see the final decisions from 3rd week of next month, if approvals starts coming by next month, then it will obvious the reason for the rampant refusals was the election... Just my assumption tho... Cos this ur app is too good to be refused.... Peace

I must say I see a point in what you’ve just said. Let’s hold on till the election is over tho.
