Some years ago, When Makarfi was the governor of Kaduna state, there was a war btw Iraq and Iran or was it Kuwait (can't say). Next thing, these guys started giving a crisis undertone inKaduna. Makarfi gave an instruction that an empty plane be made ready for a free trip to Iraq/Iran for whomever wants to fight. He said nobody should bring that nonsense to Kaduna. That was how everyone respected themselves and no one showed up on the plane. That man still remains my best governor of Kaduna so far.

By the way, he was a Muslim o but he had zero tolerance for BS.

It Occurred when a Danish cartoonist depicted the image of the Prophet as a terrorist. The incidence drew serious condemnation among Muslims worldwide and Nigeria wasn't excluded. Muslims went on protest every where and trust our sabi sabi Muslim peeps in the North, they gave it a religious colouration and turned it into Christian - Muslim riot. Another riot also happened during the miss world beauty pageant which was billed to hold in Kaduna.

just one Scapegoat will put an end to the mess. I have lived in the north all my life and this kind of killing happen all the the time but you will never hear of any arrest talkless of prosecutions. those in government will only condemn and that is the end of it. everyone will move on as if it never happened. if not because of elections that is around to he corner, the sultan council would not have issued any statements on this killing.
My advice to all Christian s living in the north is to know the mentality of your host and know the kind of words you utter especially on matters that concine religion it doesn't matter if the Muslim are educated or not believe me they think the same way on matters of religion.

I agree with you 100% Atiku Abubakar issued a statement condemning the gruesome killing only for him to delete the post after 1 hour when Muslim fundamentalist and religious bigots attacked him online and told him to forget his presidential ambition if he persists in condemning the action.

The use of mobile phones in secondary schools should be prohibited, cos it's a Major source of distraction among students and contributed immensely to the current poor reading culture experienced today. It's also a major culprit as far as moral decadence among juveniles is concerned. If Tertiary institutions like Covenant University can restrict the use of mobile fones, then wetin come be secondary school? My younger brother was even withdrawn from NDA as a 5th termer back in 2011 because he was using a mobile fone ( which was a contraband at that time) so if tertiary institutions can decipher the distractive and harmful influence of those gadgets, why won't secondary schools follow suit, especially when you consider the impressionable nature of these youngsters? At least, it's use should be restricted within the school premises.

My advice for you, is that during service try as much possible to save, no matter how little. if you're fortunate enough to find yourself in good PPA that pays something substantial, utilize their allowance for your daily expenditure, and then save de main NYSC allowee
( all of it) if it's not feasible, save a fraction of it. Eg, if NYSC allowee is 30k, save at least 10k every Mth, similarly,if the allowance for the PPA is say 40k , save at least 15k. By the time u add up the entire sum for your service year, you'll arrive at tidy sum that you can use to manage until u get a job or something doing.

I rock Rusworn building those days, My course adviser, Dr Phil Eze didn't go easy on me the first time I gave him my course form to sign, I made de unpardonable error of writing " Mr Phil - Eze" under the course advisor column. ( Didn't know he was a Dr) na so the nigga walked me out of his office. HOD was Dr Mrs Onakala, Prof Ofomata was retiring the year I entered. Mr Onyekwelu also stressed my ass in cartography, abi na GS 105 ( Natural Science) Seminars and Term papers? Omo UNN wasn't easy. Great Lion

NA don begin write aptitude test? Previously, the Military Secretary (MS) just sits and selects people randomly for screening by the Armed Forces Selection Board (AFSB) only God knows the criteria they use for selecting candidates. I guess the Nigerian airforce then went with a cheaper trainer(the mushak) to save money cos they are suppose to know better how the nature of their job is and should have gotten a trainer with ejection seats...just my thoughts though

Basic trainers don't come equipped with ejection seats, be it Super Mushak, Bull dog, Cessna or Diamond series, cos they're Turbo propeller driven engines. They're used mostly for ab initio or initial pilot training. It is when u advance from basic training to maybe fighter training that u use jet engine trainers like Alpha, T-38 talon, Aero L-39 or Yak - 130. Those are the ones that come equipped with ejection seats. The ejection seat has a rocket attached underneath, once eject sequence is activated, the canopy or roof of the cockpit breaks off/ detaches from the aircraft at high speed and the rocket underneath the seat detonates, it is this explosion that propels the the pilot together with the seat out of the plane before the parachute deploys. The mechanism only works with fast moving jet planes and not the basic trainer types because they're relatively slow and secondly the seating arrangement of instructor pilot n student pilot seating side by side ( in tandem) doesn't make the ejection seat to be feasible.

Hmmmm, Building more mosques or churches is not the solution to the various problems bedevilling our society, it's on record that Nigeria is a very religious nation with mosques and churches dotting our entire landscape, yet we are experiencing high levels of moral decadence, corruption and violence at unprecedented levels. Emphasis should be on home training and total reorientation of our value system. We ought to return to the era where it "takes a village to train a child" and deemphasize the "minding your own business" principle which is in effect today. In Japan, the first 7 years of a child's life, the child does not write any exams in school, but rather spends it learning good manners and societal etiquette. That's why integrity, honesty and family honor are ingrained into their psyche at a very tender age. Good parenting is the missing link we need to fix in order to get it right. We don't need more churches or Mosques.

Just want to ask... don't trainer aircraft have ejection seats?

The super mushak trainer doesn't come equipped with ejection seats, it's used for basic or elementary flying ( first time pilot training) but the Jet trainers usually come with ejection seats since they fly at high speeds, and such can easily deploy when ejection is necessary.

Hmmm, the perils of Flying. No air force is exempt from stuff like this. Based on an eye witness comment ( In a previous thread on Nairaland) who stated that de engine stalled when the pilot attempted a barrel roll at low altitude, one can easily attribute pilot error as the major factor responsible for the mishap. Guess he might have misjudged his altimeter reading. All the same, let's wait for the official results from the AIB. May their souls RIP.

Secondly, we don't hate the Tiv people, A Tiv man by default is naturally greedy and only thinks about himself, if you doubt me check all the Areas surrounding Tiv land, you've fought the Jukun, Igede, Kuteb, Fulani,Neighbouring tribes in Nasarawa and cross river states all around your borders you've fought any body who's not Tiv, heck you've even fought amongst yourself, because of your land grabbing tendencies. The Idomas are aware of your selfishness that's why we left the state for you n concentrated at the Federal level.
