This is one of the FALSE STORIES that have been circulating in the public space for years now

It wasn't Buhari that revoked the project. It was Group Captain Gbolahan Mudashiru that
revoked it because it was a Lagos State project. He said his government wanted to re-award
the project to a MORE COMPETENT company.

I have an African Concord Magazine of early 1985 [just before Ibrahim Babangidas
gang overthrew General Buhari] where Gbolahan Mudashiru took responsibility for
cancelling the Metroline project that we were all looking forward to.


If I can scan the magazine, I will upload it so people can see that it was Gbolahan Mudashiru
that cancelled the project.

I beg to differ but the articles from the link below, seems to suggest otherwise, Gov Mudashiru, was initially favorably disposed towards the project but had to capitulate due to pressure from above:
