Kingharzyz:That accent is Ọ̀yọ́'s. Mother tongue interference won't allow her speak English peacefully no matter how much she tries. For those shouting she can't speak English yet, please understand that English language is not a litmus test for intelligence. |
squad03: ![]() Could it be the starch though? Your inference is very funny ![]() |
Short grains ![]() xperia626:Abakaliki rice is good but it foams a lot while boiling. |
duni04: ![]() It is very easy to sit behind a device to spew nonsense. |
OBAGADAFFI:She uploaded 7 subjects and ascribed it to digital error during uploading. |
duni04:You need not be disgusted. She uploaded 7 seven results as against the normal number required. That she came out is indeed impressive and I'd recommend that admission seekers adopt this means from here on out, should they feel cheated. You need to stop painting a scenario of victimization here. We all know where the mistake came from and what impacted her. It's like going to a GCE Hall to write an exam and you fail to follow all instructions, particularly on the OMR sheet and then you say they should have assisted you because you wrote your name without writing your shading your registration number. These mistakes are costly. So many people make them yearly and exceptions would mean that a lot of people would ask for the same in the not too distant future. |
duni04:Funny! Ideally, the provost owes no one. His rare character, I believe, led him to clear the air. Asking for the total number of admitted students, he mentioned in the previous thread that hundred students were admitted, meaning she's shy by four. Again, the provost does not owe anyone any explanation as to how many students were admitted into medicine, neither does he owe anyone explanations as to why the girl didn't make it. I believe you're asking for too much, considering the fact that the institution in question is not just any institution (I'm saying this with all sense of pride). You don't need to play Truth or dare here. The air has been cleared. I'm sure the girl knows she really she erred already. Admission in itself is not a pepper-palm oil, market like scenery. Negotiations are not necessary because they won't fly. Let's applaud the provost for taking time out of his busy schedule to do this. |
Idyllic:Truth is, I feel for her but exceptions should not be made, else others would use the same avenue to start pleading for admission. The provost has done what is needed, and that is provide evidence as to why she didn't meet the cut off. On her part, she was thinking her JAMB result and was high enough. Medicine in particular is not a course one would just bend rules just to accommodate. There are many languishing in that faculty, some have crossed to some other departments just because of petty mistakes. Kudos to the Provost once again. |
cyberguy72:OAU does not recognize Civic Education. That it showed up on her result means the secondary she attended had a very poor counsellor and the school itself has issues. Civic Education, just as moral education might be necessary but does not necessarily reflect in when schools tend to calculate your score. I'm proud though. Great Ife ![]() |
claremont:Except you're just reading up on or know this, quite a handful of persons have been in the know before now. Sengal and The Gambia are thought to those with the best recipes. Wikipedia is written yes, but so many articles litter the cyberspace on this. |
Ishilove: ![]() Tatashe is not as hot as Rodo though. I guess it explains why they call it 'sweet' ![]() |
Ishilove:I doubt that. . |
So the guy wanted to know if EFCC attended the Headies awards last night. The response from the anti-corruption twitter handle is just epic as always ![]() Mynd44

bukatyne:Lol... This Christmas is off key. Shrimps are hard to come by here, even at the malls. |
bukatyne:That's a well assorted fried rice. Below is a Jambalaya rice.
|
dboss444:This is very funny ![]() Not like it spoils faster. The problem is, the longer you keep it, the more it loses its savour. Fried rice in itself is meant to be crispy and dry, with lesser water presence. The same applies to the vegetables added. Most people tend to mess this up from the very beginning which causes the rice to start losing strength just few hours after being prepared. Another trick is to not 'warm' it. It doesn't carry much weight as the Jollof rice. A better way of preserving it is to keep it in the refrigerator while the portion to be consumed is to be taken and 'microwaved'. |
mikhe2:Is Banga rice that special? It's just on the average to me though. I think why I hate it is due to the fact that I hate watery meals and the preparation of Banga rice cause the rice in itself to retain tons of the oil and water in the palm fruits. |
airminem:Some rice are that way. They absorb so much water that when they become watery when they turn cold. This is common with 'short rice' and people often go for them just because they're slightly cheaper than the longer grains. |
mhisbliss:Funny ![]() The 'darkness' of the rice comes from the black pepper they use, compared to ours, wherein we shop for the finest tomato paste brands and tomatoes to achieve ours. |
VictorRomanov: ![]() |
Obatarhe1:Banga rice belong to us, the Urhobos. I don't like it though. |
fkdmods:Not true. The Jambalaya rice is what a typical Nigerian would call concoction but in a more advanced manner. It is a blend of vegetables and meats, plus shrimps mixed in rice. It is even far more expensive than the hallowed Jollof Rice and they're not all that similar. Jambalaya is not even common in Africa. If you try to compare and contrast on recipes for both, one would discover that Jambalaya is more of meats, vegetables, shrimps and what have you than rice in itself. |
Ishilove:Scotch bonnet is a cousin to the Habanero (Rodo). The difference is that the Scotch bonnet is slightly sweeter. In terms of availability, the Habanero is much more common while the Scotch is rare. Tatashe is called Capsicum annuum or just fruited sweet pepper. |
Ancientboy:Humble Smith is an Ìjẹ̀bú man, abi? |
Ancientboy:2 face is not Igbo. He's from Idoma, Benue State. I wonder what you people derive in tribalism and consolation ![]() |
Deelaw:Are you kidding or something |
Ishilove:Your points are very valid. However, I wouldn't want us to rule out some possibilities here; 1. It could be true after all. 2. They may know one another but the HIV infected lady could well be younger than the other. Hence, the tonality of respect. 3. That she gave a timeline could be as a result of her determination; her resolve to not listen to pleas. 4. From the chat, 'she' seems pleased probably because she has accepted her fate and she's all out to have fun and take as many people as possible. But then again, the above are just assumptions as to why the chats are in that manner. Bloggers have a way of creating tension and unnecessary panic. However, issues bothering on health and life, either from bloggers unverified sources should not be swept under the carpet. ![]() |
Deathslater:And Buhari is your ancestral President, pending when you guys are granted a referendum ![]() You all keep saying this everytime. Should the NA treat these thugs as criminals. You'd come on here write some vague pieces to the Hague. Nonsense and ingredient ![]() |
Ishilove:It could be true, Ishi. A Google search shows so many articles on the name, some even uploaded many of her pictures to back their claim. Here's one: http://campusexposed.com/photos-hiv-positive-girl-sswears-infect-400-guys-dies/ |
He is still the president of the country and would choose to go anywhere he pleases within Nigeria. I have been praying these people don't do something stupid; something that could impact innocent people. |
AfonjaStinks:He doesn't have an album yet. No matter how many hit he cooks, he still falls under the category. Headies needs this. 2 Face got to where he is because he is humility personified. Most of the so-called musicians don't get far all because of petty pride. |
Afam4eva: The other two you mentioned are considered to be very cheap. This has nothing to do with the present scarcity hitting rice though. Not everyone love beans, and even if Ekiti people cherish either amala or Pounded yam, they would still need soup in driving it home. We're a rice-driven people ![]() |
