This is indeed commendable. I just hope social media states would buckle up and stop producing rice on the internet, when in reality they're doing nothing to help alleviate its scarcity.

This system is not only wacky but very confusing.

What’s stopping electors from voting for whoever they want?

Aside from the moral issues, which Amar notes includes that fact that no one voting on 8 November thought they were casting a ballot for “the unaccountable and unknown folks” who make up the electoral college, there are legal obstacles as well. Many states have laws that attempt to bind electors and impose criminal penalties if they vote for the candidate who did not win the popular vote in that state. Further, some states even deem the act of voting for an alternative candidate to be an effective resignation. An attempt to overturn Colorado’s law, which mandates electors vote for the state’s popular vote winner, was tossed out of federal court in the Rocky Mountain State on Monday as “a stunt”.

The so-called Hamilton electors cite the founding father’s words in Federalist 68, in which he describes the purpose of the electoral college to “afford a moral certainty, that the office of President will never fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications”. In their opinion Trump doesn’t meet that bar. It is worth noting, however, that Hamilton was describing an age before universal suffrage in which voters did not vote for members of the electoral college in many states. Further, the method of election that Hamilton was describing has long since been changed by the 12th amendment.

How did this wacky system come about?

The 12th amendment was ratified in 1804 in the aftermath of a constitutional crisis. Before its passage, the candidate who finished first in the electoral college became president, and the second-placed finisher became vice-president. This led to a tie in 1800 when the Democratic-Republican nominee, Thomas Jefferson, and his running mate, Aaron Burr, each received 73 electoral votes. The framers had not anticipated candidates running as a ticket. Jefferson and Burr finished tied for first place while incumbent President John Adams finished third with 65 electoral votes. The election was thrown to the lame duck House then dominated by the opposition Federalist party. Many Federalists supported Burr, whom they perceived as more moderate. This created a stalemate that lasted until Alexander Hamilton intervened to persuade recalcitrant lawmakers to back Jefferson. The crisis prompted Congress to go back to the drawing board and separate the election of the president from that of the vice-president.

Wait, what if no one gets 270?

If no one gets 270 votes, the election is thrown to the House of Representatives, with the constitution requiring that body to choose “from the persons having the highest numbers not exceeding three on the list of those voted for as President”. Each state votes by delegation, and a majority is required to win. This means that California’s 53 representatives would combine to cast one vote, which would have the same value as that cast by Wyoming’s one representative. Of the 50 state delegations in the House, 17 have Democratic majorities, 32 have Republican majorities and one, Maine, is split. This means that significant Republican defections would be required in the House to defeat Trump and there is only one state won by Clinton which has a Republican majority in its House delegation.

Foreign Affairs › Re: Electoral College Set To Make Trump's Win Official by Sanchez01(op): 11:59am On Dec 19, 2016
Is Donald Trump the president-elect?

Technically no but to all intents and purposes, yes. The formal election of the president doesn’t happen until Monday 19 December when the electoral college meets and electors will cast their ballots. Those votes get formally counted on 6 January in a joint session of Congress.

So Trump could still lose the election?

It is theoretically possible – if extremely unlikely. The 12th amendment of the constitution provides that if any candidate for the White House gets a majority of the electoral votes, they become president. Currently, if every elector were to cast his or her ballot in accordance with the election results, Trump would receive 306 electoral votes and Clinton 232. The electoral college has 538 members, meaning 270 votes are needed to win. This means that to stop Trump from attaining this goal, at least 37 elected Republican electors have to defect. So far only one has said he intends to do so.

The electoral college: why it exists, how it works and can it stop Trump?

America’s unique system of electing a president was born of a constitutional crisis and means that the result of the 2016 is still – theoretically – in the balance

As the electoral college prepares to meet on Monday to formally elect the next US president, an attempt by activists to overturn Donald Trump’s victory has brought renewed attention to the unique, albeit convoluted, method by which the United States elects its president.

The process, which was so complicated that it had to be reformed by constitutional amendment less than 20 years after the constitution was signed, can still be hard to follow and is governed as much by precedent and history as by the constitutional text.

Apparently, the U.S. Presidential Election is not over.
Washington (CNN)The 538 members of the Electoral College are set on Monday to make President-elect Donald Trump's victory official.

In all 50 state capitals and the District of Columbia, electors -- chosen by the state parties of the candidate who carried their state, Trump or Hillary Clinton -- will meet to cast their ballots. The gatherings will remove the last bit of drama from 2016's unprecedented election season -- and post-election efforts to persuade Republican electors to vote against Trump, in some cases in violation of state laws requiring electors to support the victor.

Trump's place in history

Heightening the tension in recent weeks: Clinton actually won the popular vote by about 3 million -- making Trump the worst-performing winner in the popular vote since 1876.
Trump's victory is not, as he has described it, a landslide. He is expected to garner just 56.9% of the electoral vote, assuming all electors vote according to their states' results. That will give Trump the 44th-largest share of the electoral vote out of 54 presidential elections since the modern system started in 1804.

Monday's votes: What to know
There's no national meeting of the Electoral College. Instead, electors gather in each state -- usually in the Capitol.

Under federal law, though, electors must gather on December 19. And each elector must sign six copies certifying their votes for president and vice president.

Two ballots go to the National Archives. One goes to the president of the Senate. Two go to their state's chief elections officer. And one goes to a local judge.
After Monday's votes, there is still one last step: On January 6, Congress has to officially count the electoral votes. Vice President Joe Biden will preside over the count.
Lawmakers can technically object -- in writing, with objections signed by at least one House and one Senate member -- to individual electoral votes or entire states' results. If the House and Senate support that objection, the vote or votes in question are thrown out. But that has never happened.
After the votes are counted, the results are final, and Trump is officially set for his inauguration at noon on January 20.

sinizia:
You're not getting the picture. A husband is the head of the house; the one looked up to the most to guard and protect the sanctity of a marriage. The leader. Now this man had issues with his woman and stumbled upon her advices on the Internet which she herself doesn't uphold offline. The next thing he did was to lambast her publicly. Narrating how useless her bedmatics were. What sort of attitude is that? What happened to decorum? What happened to talking to her in the bedroom telling her that she'd practice what she preaches? And if all means of rebuilding the bridge fails, then what happened to filing for divorce and moving on? Will disgracing her wife publicly make her the sêx expert he desires? Is that the solution? It's not. If for anything, he's destroyed that marriage beyond repair. He fuckęd up. A responsible husband can never intentionally disgrace his wife like he did.
You made so points though but there are a handful of things to consider here;

1. From the man's viewpoint, the woman comes off as someone who thinks she knows a lot but doesn't. He complained about her sex life and she insisted that her ex loved it that way.

2. From the man's viewpoint, she compared her husband's tolerance with that of her ex. Husband, not boyfriend. Who does that, really?

3. There's no way communication would have been established as you stated because the woman, from the man's judgment, moved to their guest room. This is a sign of ignorance.

4. That man is the head of the home does not mean he is not human. It is easier to preach silence if you're not frustrated in any way.

5. I believe the man is only disgusted by the hypocritical attitude of the wife; one thing in the house, another on social media.

6. The man didn't mention a name. I believe he hasn't done anything wrong in this regard. The woman in question would know she's the one being called out while others are left to guess. Nothing bad here, I believe.

Although my arguments are from the man's narrative. That of the wife might differ but then again, it's just about analyzing the whole thing from the man's angle.

I see some people jubilating about physical prowess on the thread. The implication of what that man did might have a rippling effect on not only Kanu but also his associates who escort him to the court, should this video get to the authorities.

The handling and transportation of Kanu in this regard is very wrong. You don't just allow a man charged for treason to walk with half of the world just after a proceeding. The guy did a whole lot of wrong by assaulting a paramilitary officer who was only doing his job. The handling of Kanu and his associates have not been strict as it should be. Perhaps the FG is only interested in allowing him do whatever while they play ping pong with his life in detention. Either way, things might not look too good from him here on out.

Upon visiting Atiku's official Facebook page, someone had already posted a link from here, asking if the openings are true. The response from the official page debunked the one posted here, which only means that SaiAtiku2019 is nothing but a Scammer.

The response reads 'This information is FALSE. We are not offering any jobs at the moment. Please share widely.:

Christianity Etc › Re: Bishop David Oyedepo Is Not Greedy - He Helped My Family Twice by Sanchez01(m): 6:52am On Dec 15, 2016

It's funny how people are so quick to call another man greedy, even when they are not half as generous as the person they criticize, even with his so called greediness, the fact that he has impacted more lives than his numerous critics here, cannot be overemphasized. And it's even more shocking to see Christians being a part of this shameful display of hypocrisy.

Before you blame the church for exorbitant school fees, let us see the number of people you've trained through school.

The Bishop gives the way Christ instructed us to, no need for announcements, and that's why he is being criticized because he does his givings in secret. And that's why he is being rewarded publicly.

Don't judge a book by its cover.
You tried making sense but you wholly destroyed everything with your last sentence. I'm glad you realize that the cover of Oyedepo is not only appalling but also not good to look at. I don't collect people's tithes, pledges and offerings, coupled with first fruits, church projects' contributions and Kingdom partners' money.

How many of the not-well-to-do parents in the church have their wards in the school, nationwide I mean?

How many aircrafts does the man own? The place of moderation is key. It's surprising that this same would quote or preach Paul's teaching on moderation but would not live by it. We don't expect him to satisfy everyone because I know he can't achieve that feat. This is perhaps the major reason TB Joshua is outstanding in this area more than any Nigerian pastor, even though he's fake.
Christianity Etc › Re: Bishop David Oyedepo Is Not Greedy - He Helped My Family Twice by Sanchez01(m): 6:42am On Dec 15, 2016
Let me also 'shook' mouth. I'm actually indifferent towards him but the classical representation of robbing Peter to pay Paul is best projected when Covenant University comes to mind. Most of those who attend are not even members of the church because their parents can't afford the luxuries despite contributing to the growth of the church with their tithes and offering. The same applies to Redeemers University.

A typical politician also provide scholarships. I believe clergymen should go extra miles. It makes no total sense to see your church build a school, only to discover that you cannot study or send your children there because the fee is off the chart. These same pastors would want 'obedient' workers to contribute and even do something close to auctioning just because they don't want to use previous monies in the church. He would not sell one of his crafts to raise the money the church needs, yet, they would preach how to provoke God into blessing you.

Interestingly, you now get to hear 'my university tuition fee is divinely approved. Whoever speaks against it would be afflicted with chronic mouth odour'. Nigerian churches and pastors are a huge joke. I gave up on them aong time ago.

Please comment on mine. Referees is on th 3rdpage, dint paste it here
I can't remember the last time I saw a typical CV smiley

What you have there is a combination of CV with a resumé. Most people can't tell the difference between the two, which often pose problems. Bottom line is, the inclusion of your publications and the number of pages indicate that you have a CV, which is more educational in nature, bulkier and we'll detailed, as opposed to a resumé, which is solely based on previous job experiences, little information on educational background and less weighter.

Good news; it could come in handy if you're targeting a position within an educational institution, particularly tertiary.

Bad news; it could bore an HR as there seem to be some uninteresting details in your CV.

'Main Strength' should be pushed way down and should be replaced with 'Key Competencies'. It would be easier to recognize your weaknesses since your 'strengths' are listed.

Replace 'Working experiences' with 'Previous Work Experiences'. Also, this should come after your personal profile.

Your job descriptions are not detailed. I'm sure you would need to work on that area. Give enough details of each of the jobs. Give your next employer the impression that you knew/know your left from your right.

Your previous job position and the timeline should be on the same line. Use the tab button on your PC to do this. Again, there's every need for you to include job descriptions. You could get tons of them online, so long you search for the position you would like to get its description.

If you're willing to apply within a non educational organization (i.e, not a higher institution, then I'd say you remove your publications, and conferences attended.

There's no singular acceptable form of CVs or resumé, or pattern that must necessarily be followed. However, the reason most people recommend that previous job experiences must come first is because that is where your true selling point lies, and not in your key competencies. Consider these too as key competencies;

Teamwork.
Responsibility.
Commitment to career.
Commercial awareness.
Career motivation.
Decision making.
Communication.
Leadership.

Finally, you do not need to include your references. It's okay to put 'available on request' there. If you're applying to an organization, it's better to force your CV into two pages, rather than three. Most HRs don't fancy this. All the best!

Whynotthetruth

Okay, so I'm going to break down your assertion, which I honestly can't make an atom of out sense out of

1)I see litany of Igbo phobic and bigoted beings whose hatred for the tribe has distorted their sense of justice and uprightness...So I rather ignore than engage any of you...
You see nothing just as Kanu. And your hate has blinded you to the point that you believe anyone who airs an opinion contrary to yours hate the Igbos. Talk about the victim mentality playing out all over again.

[s]2)At the end, Nnamdi Kanu or igbo are not the losers when such travesty of justice, impunity, and distortion of truth(corruption) is institutionalized, it will happily go round to every other tribe one or the other... Example; Most middle belt folks were against the Igbo during the war as led by one of them; Gowon. Today, it is their tribe that is facing extermination and extinction not Igbo. Black Scorpion was eulogized by Yoruba as they vilified Ojukwu, kindly compare how those two ended and their later lives. how will history remember them? [/s]
Seems you're a student of history. We shall get there in time.

3)Today, Buhari is the face of vilification against Igbo just as SW lead his cheerleaders chart, let's see who cries more at the end. Tinubu is already being used to test run their wrath. Fayose and others are in the cooler...
And how is Buhari the face of terror against the Igbos? Was he the one who sent you guys to come out publicly against him? Was he the one who took your senses of reasoning away and asked that you all put your eggs in a basket? Was he the one who asked the shameless, headless group called Ohaneze to parade themselves as Ijaws who must compulsorily die for Jonathan? Truth is, your hate has pushed you to the edge of the cliff, thereby believing that all those who embarrassed you are your enemies.
Feast your eyes on those links and wonder why you people don't speak with one voice.
http://guardian.ng/news/ndigbo-have-no-regrets-voting-against-buhari-says-ohaneze/
http://dailypost.ng/2015/07/04/ohanaeze-kicks-against-buharis-appointments-relocation-of-boko-haram-suspects/

4)You may not like the face of Nnamdi Kanu(nobody needs you to hug him even) but he represents some HOME TRUTH which is self determination; a human right that can't be erased or wished away. Buhari also acknowledges this right hence supports freedom for lots of Muslim countries. He can't support them there while sitting on others here...
I am an advocate of self determination. Problem here is, Biafra at this time, is a joke. Rather than burn tyres on roads built by the FG, what prevent you lots from calling for a referendum rather than asking for guns and arms as exhibited by Kanu? Find out about Catalonia and Madrid. Read up on how Catalonia has been oppressed repeatedly and the politics as to why the Spanish capital was moved from Barcelona to Madrid. Brexit is another. Referenda have been established with these two, without loss of lives and arms plea. Your case? None of you understand what it means to break away, let alone follow a sane path to resolving 'hot' issues. Continue chestbeating and 'killing' the Nigerian Army on Nairaland while they riddle bodies of clueless youths with bullets.

[s]5)In all, I pray and hope for justice if not now then tomorrow. If Nnamdi Kanu doesn't get justice under buhari, he will get it from subsequent leaders. Nelson Mandela was in prison for 27years before he became a hero for the rest of his life and after death. Good morning!!![/s]
I hear how you folks liken Kanu to Mandela. Please note THAT THEY ARE NOT IN ANY WAY SIMILAR. Mandela was imprisoned for 27 solid years for 'speaking and leading a movement against apartheid', Kanu was beating the drums of war. Mandela's cause was sane and so was his approach. Kanu's cause is sane but you don't fight a cause as this with emotions. Please go read up on Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King jnr. and the Nelson Mandela you mentioned.

Kanu is yet to spend three years in detention and he is shouting far more than Orubebe did. It is neither by emotions, nor by chest beating. Good morning!

My problem is with the way your spoken languages are presented. Truth is, no one cares which is L1 (mother tongue), fluent or not. Just list them out, stating English language as the first, followed by the Fulani language and then Hausa.

Also, your job descriptions look shabby. I believe you do more than these for each.

For your computer skills, it's safer if you adopt good adjectives before each of them rather than list out your level of consistency on each.

Example; Efficient use of Windows and Windows-based programmes and applications.

The rest should go in the same direction while 'strong' adjectives should play out on each. Rather than separate 'Word' from 'PowerPoint', it is wiser to lump them under 'Microsoft Office' applications.

For those saying they saw 'courage', well, I guess what I saw is very far from that. I saw a frustrated man who is tired of being tossed. The saddest part is that he clearly does not understand what it means to be at the forefront. Emotions can not be at the fore when you're on a quest for something as huge as this. I heard him talking about contempt of court when he clearly is doing same.

Perhaps he still does not understand the charge roped around him. We're talking treason here and even IF he would be ALLOWED to roam free again in his life, I sure believe it won't even be in the next five years. The man is frustrated, obviously.
