Sometimes I look at the APC and I'm forced to think the sudden disappearance of GMB had long been scripted. He went underground almost after the postponement of the Presidential election, went to the UK while the incoming VP got himself engaged with grassroot politics, touching the least person in the society while the PDP and GEJ plus his two birdies, FFK and Fayose were busy labelling the General with death chants. GEJ's endless charade of 'youth' bribery meetings went on and then, voila! the General returns and the big spender is once again relegated. God bless the General.

The return of Buhari has left me giddy all morning. I honestly can't wait to see the APC Abuja Presidential Campaign. Just when Jonathan thought his stolen funds was working, the General shows up. The APC might not have 21 billon naira to bribe people with, but the people sure got the back of the General. God bless him!

Good morning folks, I really commend you guys for this. However, I'm VERY green when it comes to this. I mean I'm a novice to the core. I nothing about decoders that much save for watching my favourite stations and subscribing at the end of the month.

This thread has really opened my eyes. My question however is this;

I have an Strong 4653X decoder I have not been using for a long time now and I'm really interested in using the Free to Air. Knowing that the decoder is somewhat old. With what is written on its body, I discovered it's an Mpeg 2. What does this mean? and

what are the chances that it would get decent stations?
What type of dish would I get if perhaps it is capable of doing so?

Please I need urgent responses. Again, the model is SRT 4653X. Thanks y'all smiley

He understands that someone is close by and the early he gets over his marriage, the better for him as he knows there's a second bus to jump in, which is you in the real sense of it.

It's a nasty mess for you to have allowed this to continue with him. Love is blind but marriage is the eye opener. A man who is about ditching his wife has the tendency to do so again when the need arises. You might not be spared from the divorce issue as well. Please get over him, move on with life and find the BOMB, not someone else's BOMB.

Politics › Nigeria Needs ‘do Tanks’ Not Think Tanks – Obasanjo by Sanchez01(op): 6:09am On Mar 06, 2015
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Thursday said Nigeria’s peculiar challenges required leaders with requisite experience to tackle them.

He told guests inside the auditorium of his Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, during the celebration of his 78th birthday and 2015 annual summit, that there were too many ‘think-tanks’ in the country instead of ‘do-tanks.’

The former President, who looked resplendent in a white flowing agbada, therefore prayed to “ God to give us leaders that occasion like this deserves.”

He said that West African countries and Britain were worried about developments in Nigeria.

Reiterating his commitment to the country, Obasanjo said each time he travelled to these countries, he was usually inundated with enquiries about Nigeria’s security, political and socio-economic challenges.

According to him, people in those countries always warn that any turmoil in Nigeria may have dire consequences on its West African neighbours and even Brittain.

He said, “We are about 180 million now, our brothers and sisters in West Africa are worried and when they talk to me and I ask why they were worried, they always reply that, ‘if half a million Nigerians go to Republic of Benin, we will overwhelm them.

“If two million (Nigerians) go to Ghana… Even Britain is worried, they are worried. They said their problem is that if one million Nigerians go to Britain, they said in 10 years, there will be 10 million Nigerians in Britain and they will rather keep us here.”

He said with enormous resources the nation was blessed with, no Nigerian child should lack access to education, food and employment.

Obasanjo lamented that the mismanagement of the nation’s resources had landed the country in the current mess.

He said, “My concern is that we have too many think tanks, we need more of do tanks. The point is, we can do and we have no reason why we can’t do and we have also seen that one individual can make a difference.

“There is no reason why any Nigerian child, at this point in time should not have a basic education, food and nutrition. Not only Nigerian child, no Nigerian should go to bed without food.

“We have the resources to achieve all that, that we are not achieving it does not mean we don’t have the resources. It is because we haven’t managed our resources well.

“Employment, if all other things are right, there should be no reason for any Nigerian who wants to be employed not to have the opportunity for employment.”

He noted that if the unemployment malaise persisted for the next 15 years, “and if all those things that all these young ones are expecting are not there, in 15 years time, they will be be good recruits for Boko Haram or its equivalent.”

Delivering a paper titled: Imperatives of a National Security Framework for Development and Progress of Nigeria,” a former Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Martin Luther Agwai, condemned the involvement of the military in politics.

He warned that should the military abandon its primary responsibility and engage in politics, the country might be doomed for it.

Agwai called for transformation in the nation’s military system, stressing that the forces trained and equipped to defend the country had suddenly found themselves in a strange terrain.

He said, “The military has to be transformed and this becomes necessary from the point of recruitment, training and assuming leadership role. Our forces that are trained and equipped to defend us are now in a strange field.

“We must have security sector reform because everyone that has anything to do with security must be re-branded for professionalism, efficiency and effectiveness.

“The military has nothing to do with politics and if we allow it, we will run into problems.”

Agwai, who expressed fear at the emergence of ‘private armies’ in the country, said this had led to rivalry and created religious division.

He expressed disappointment at the practice of democratic rule so far, which he said, had created few affluent citizens in the midst of suffocating poverty.

“When you have a scenario like this, there will be insecurity,” he added.

He called on the government to diversify the economy and ensure that “no Nigerian child goes to bed without food in his belly. Farmers should have enough food to eat and sell.”

Agwai, who is the current chairman of the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme, noted that religious bodies which should serve as checks on corruption had become “facilitators of corruption.”

The chairman of the ceremony, Prof.Akin Mabogunje, stressed the need for inter-dependency of all security agencies in tackling the security challenges in the country.

Mabogunje, who is the Chairman, Governing Board, Centre for Human Security, OOPL, identified intelligence gathering as key to addressing the issue of insecurity.

Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, described the host as “a great Nigerian and a rare species.”

He said Obasanjo had played a significant role in the development of the nation and remained the only Nigerian Head of State to hand over power to a civilian administration and also ensured a civilian to civilian transition.

He said,”As far as he is concerned, issues concerning Nigeria are far beyond party affiliation. There is no way we talk about Nigeria that we will not talk about Obasanjo.”

The former governor of Lagos State and a national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, described Obasanjo as a “nationalist, teacher, disciplinarian and a tutor in dignity and boldness.”

He said though they have had differences in the past, he noted that Obasanjo was a man of value and wisdom.

He said, “Obasanjo is an open book, you read a line, you pick a paragraph, you learn, you comply, if you drink from that fountain of wisdom, you will see value in it, he is very, very committed to the Nigerian nation.”

The chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, described Obasanjo as “an icon, a father, a non- partisan person, and the very first in the history of this nation.”

Among dignitaries at the event were former governors of Ekiti and Osun states – Segun Oni and Olagunsoye Oyinlola , the Osile of Oke-Ona Egba, Dr. Adedapo Tejuoso, and the co-chairman, OOPL Board of Trustees, Ambassador Carl Masters.

A young girl of 15 is emotionally immature to consent to haing a consenual relationship with a full grown man. A 15 year old girl still has stars in her eyes, still sees the world as a hramless place still sees herself as indestructable.

When I was fifteen I had a cute Maths teacher Oh boy he was hot(lol this guy made me know Maths aswear I jack am like mad) and if he asked me out and said I shouldn't tell anyone I would probably have agreed, that's what teenage crush is it doesn't see age as a barrier. The man on the other hand should know better, he ought to know that if he sleeps with a young girl that he is a pedo simple and short.

I don't care how mature a 15 year old looks ask for some form of identification or even by the way they talk you ought to be able to know how old a lady is. It's the law there really is no excuse.

And for a lady who will blame her parents for not educating her on sex in this day an age is like APC goons blaming Jonathan for not washing their car for them every morning, complete and utter rubb.ish. Abi they taught you how to spread your legs for the guy.
And you had to bring politics in becausehuh?
Family › Re: How Young Is Too Young? by Sanchez01(m): 11:48pm On Mar 05, 2015
The case of Elizabeth Smart and the 8-year old girl who nibbled her way through is indeed thoughtful. However, realize that race plays a whole lot of roles here. An average black man, mainly in the US feels uneasy on sighting cops and has the tendency to be suspected even when he has done nothing, whereas a white man would be his normal self; act cool and accommodate questions. Still, this may seem a bit off point but it's the truth, particularly if we're to look at the two from the angle of race.

To answer your question, how young a child is not established with regards to her height stature, academic class etc, rather, her age. A big breasted 13, 14,15, 16 and 17 year-old girl is still young and should be seen as such. But then again, to be fair, the concept and the answer to this rests on background, norms and ideology.

Almost every sane individual would frown at the marriage of a 14 year-old girl whereas this remains a huge delicacy and the dreams of some wealthy men in the North.

Conventionally, young would mean you still live under your parents, you're not fully responsible for yourself yet, you're incapable and still directly influenced by your parents, you're not recognized by the law as an adult and so much more. While the standard of measuring how young is young will be a life-long debate, one must understand that societal circumstances can fertilize a 12 year old girl into becoming an adult. The case of Karim Benzema and Ribery comes to mind.

The definition of young is so broad and expansive that it bothers on every facet of a man's life. For example,

*Emotions
*Reasoning
*Utterance
*Temperance
*Foresight
*Values and moral judgements
*and so much more...

We may not be able to agree in totality but the fact that a 15 year old is capable of killing does not define him/her as an adult. This discourse is terribly broad.

When Alhaji Lai Mohammed made it known that GEJ has employed the services of some political parties is mucking up our electoral process, some persons disregarded the information, now it's obvious these same parties are screaming what the PDP and the President wanted to kill off.
Politics › 4 Political Parties Want Jega Fired; Threaten To Boycott Elections Over Card Rea by Sanchez01(op): 10:14pm On Mar 05, 2015
The new demands — for the removal of Mr. Jega and the suspension of use of card readers — also came hours after the All Progressives Congress, APC, accused the Nigerian government of plotting to use some political parties which the APC branded as “satellite” organs of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to seek a fresh shift of elections.

Four Nigerian political parties have threatened to pull out of the March 28 and April 11 elections if the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, refuses to suspend the use of card readers.

The parties also called on the chairman of INEC, Attahiru Jega, to proceed on terminal leave, accusing him of exhibiting unprofessionalism and poor judgement.

“Since Prof Attahiru Jega has shown lack of professionalism and good judgment in his actions so far in the conduct of the 2015 elections and since he has about three months to the end of his tenure as INEC Chairman, we the stakeholders urge him to quietly consider proceeding on terminal leave so that a more competent person can handle the current election process,” the parties said at a press conference Wednesday.

The parties warned that the use of card readers, which INEC says will help check voting fraud, will negatively affect the credibility of the elections.

A statement containing the demands was signed by the national chairman of MEGA Progressive Peoples Party, Dare Falade; the presidential candidate of the Peoples Party of Nigeria, Kelvin Alagoa; and the presidential candidate of the Alliance for Democracy, Rafiu Salau.

But the national chairman of Advanced Congress of Democrats, ACD, Onwubuya Breakforth, who spoke on behalf of the group, claimed that the three parties, alongside his ACD, acted as representatives of 15 political parties.

He later told PREMIUM TIMES the remaining 11 parties had declined to immediately disclose their identities for political reasons, but assured that the parties will soon identify themselves.

The chairman of the Inter Party Advisory Council, IPAC, Yunusa Tanko, said the parties did not represent IPAC, the umbrella body of political parties.

Mr. Tanko, who is also the national chairman of National Conscience Party, said his party was not opposed to the use of card readers during the elections.

But Mr. Breakforth of the ACD said they consider the card reader a relatively new technology that should be sufficiently tested before use.

“… if the card reader should develop some technical problems, there is a possibility that the consequences of such development would affect about 40 (forty) or 50 (fifty) percent of the polling booths nationwide,” the group said.

“Because of the tendency of the card reader device to develop some technical fault any time during the voters accreditation process, that was the reason why all the Political Parties agreed with INEC recently, that the election should be postponed in polling booths where a substantial number of card reader defaults were recorded because it would disrupt the entire election process,” they said.

The parties advised INEC to manually confirm every voter during accreditation process.

The parties said while they are not against a faster and improved way of conducting the elections, but that it should not be used in the general elections.

The call by the four parties, some of the same organizations that demanded the postponement of the elections from the initial February dates, came a day after a Federal High Court in Abuja refused an application filed by four political parties to stop INEC from using the card readers during elections.

The parties that filed the suit were Alliance for Democracy, United Democratic Party, Allied Congress Party of Nigeria and Action Alliance.

The four parties did not however demand a reschedule of the polls.

But speaking separately Wednesday, the spokesperson for the Goodluck Jonathan campaign, Femi Fani-Kayode, said the PDP’s position on card readers remained that “the machine has not been tested in any election and there are bases for genuine concern over the use of the machine, for the first time, in a crucial election of this magnitude”.

In their statement, the four parties agreed with that argument, and urged INEC to suspend the proposed use of “the card reader for the March 28 and April 11 general elections or we may consider boycotting the election”.

Mr. Breakforth argued that delaying the introduction of the card reader device would enable the nation and INEC itself to properly ascertain its workability and efficiency.

He said the use of card readers now may lead to manipulation and massive rigging of the election while Nigerians may be disenfranchised.

“We also want INEC to respond to this emergency and also within 24 hours, approve our request because time is of the essence,” he said.

“This positive response is necessary so that we would be able to meet the demands of our party members and majority of the Nigerian voters who have expressed great anxiety and concern over this matter.”

What is clear to all Nigerians is that the outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan government has finally run the power sector aground. The country has been generating less than 4,000 megawatts of electricity, but the current Minister of Power, Professor Chinedu Nebo, a serving high Anglican priest, has been compelled to tell lies serially to the effect that 4,500MW is generated.
The amount of electricity clamed is still about 1,000MW less than the quantum of power the country was producing when Prof Nnaji left office in August, 2012.

Quite funny. Not every thing we mutter to God are worth calling prayers. Prayers are designed from our understand and it's known among all that God only created a heaven and an earth. Therefore, the in itself is wrong as it refers to some other heaven and earth created by God.

But then again, it could imply external forces; more like spiritual beings. But it's flawed again because God created ALL things, both good and evil. So, God has not created what is greater than Him and there can never be such a thing. This, I believe, explains why the prayer is wrong, for there is only one heaven and one earth.
