To those blaming either the Yoruba or the Igbos for the plight of Nigeria, I believe you all need to get your heads examined. The list did not say the most unfavourable "Ethnic Group/Tribe" in Nigeria but Nigeria as a whole. The problem is not a particular ethnic group, rather the recurrent chaos, corruption in government, crisis up North and how we disgrace ourselves before the international eye. I'd say our leaders have contributed massively to make this happen and a reasonable number of you are acting what they want. Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, Urhobo, Kanuri, Nupe, Efik,Tiv, Ibibio, Ijaw etc, are all responsible. No one is left out! |

Also there are various types of dementia. The most ''popular'' is Alzheimer.

Politics › PDP Will Rule Nigeria For Next 60 Years – Patience Jonathan by Sanchez01(op): 10:11am On Mar 04, 2015 |
The First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, has declared that the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) will continue to rule Nigeria for the next 60 years. Jonathan, represented by the Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Zainab Maina, spoke at the party’s women rally in Sokoto on Tuesday.
She said that Nigerian women had got their fare share and attention in Jonathan’s administration by holding about 50 per cent of the posts. “The president has fulfilled all the promises he has made to Nigerian women in 2011 and he will do more if re-elected,” she said.
The first lady also said that the president had 13 women in his cabinet, and had empowered women in a myriad of ways. She further said that the president was also working tirelessly to curb the menace of insurgency.
While commending women in the state for their sustained support to the PDP, She urged them collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). “Your PVCs are your power which will help you to cast your votes for the PDP candidates at all levels,” she said.
This, she said, would ensure that women were not disenfranchised to vote. The first lady also called on mothers in the state not to allow their children to be used to cause a breach of the peace before, during and after the general elections.
Meanwhile the first lady has started the distribution of some empowerment materials to women in the state. The materials included 1,200 bags of rice, 5,000 wrappers, 5,000 bundles of guinea brocade, 800 women wears, 2,000 rubber mats, 800 children’s wears and 800 blankets.

Politics › Jonathan, PDP Begin Fresh Truce Meetings With Aggrieved Members by Sanchez01(op): 10:02am On Mar 04, 2015 |
Indications have emerged that President Goodluck Jonathan and the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party are panic-stricken over the seeming growing acceptance of the All Progressives Congress and its candidates among Nigerians ahead of the forthcoming elections.
This, a party official told our correspondent on Tuesday, was the main reason behind the series of meetings that have been lined up by the party with a view to turning the tide.
The meetings, the official said, were apart from the many consultations that would still be done in all the parts of the country before the first round of elections slated for March 28.
“Since 1999 when democracy returned to the country, we have never had this kind of election that will task our leaders this much. The truth is that there is panic in our PDP camp. This is the first time a sitting President and party leaders will be meeting party candidates at all levels at the same time,” the official said after a meeting of the PDP Ward Volunteer Scheme held inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Monday.
The meeting afforded Jonathan and the party leaders to meet states Houses of Assembly, National Assembly and governorship candidates of the PDP.
The candidates were warned at the meeting to stop individual campaigns but to ensure that while going about campaigning, they sell all candidates of the PDP at all levels.
The Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria that had produced massive campaign materials for Jonathan for the next and final stage of campaign made several units of the items available to volunteers who were expected to move to the grassroots to sell the President’s candidature.
The Director, Contact and Mobilisation, Presidential Campaign Organisation, Prof. Jerry Gana, made it clear at the well-attended meeting that they should not be afraid to campaign for Jonathan because he had performed well.
The Director-General of the PCO, Senator Ahmadu Ali, assured all party chiefs that those who work for Jonathan’s victory at the polls would be adequately rewarded in the coming dispensation.
Apparently referring to a recent statement by the party’s National Chairman, Adamu Mu’azu, that “monkey dey work, baboon dey chop” in the PDP, Ali declared that in the next dispensation, “monkey go work, monkey go chop.”
Jonathan himself said at the meeting that party members had not been marketing the PDP enough despite its achievements, saying that was why smaller parties with no achievements intimidated them.
Shortly after that parley, Jonathan also went into a marathon meeting with all the state governors elected on the party’s platform.
The meeting, which lasted over five hours, also dovetailed into a meeting with the party’s governorship candidates across the country.
The Vice President, Namadi Sambo; Mu’azu; and some top officials of the PCO also attended the meeting.
Jonathan had given an indication that he would hold a similar meeting with the party’s National Assembly candidates before the March 28 elections and meet with states Houses of Assembly candidates before the April 11 elections.
He said he would arrange the remaining meetings in a way that they would be held zone-by-zone because of the number of people expected to attend.
“All these meetings are aimed at reconciling and restrategising in order to increase the party’s electoral fortune ahead of the general elections,” the party official explained.
At the end of the Monday meeting, Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State confirmed to journalists that the issue of the opposition was discussed at the parley.
He said Jonathan was asked to be ready to engage the APC in a presidential debate because “the more we speak to Nigerians and explain the policies and our intentions, the more Nigerians will understand us better.”
While confirming that the meeting was meant to take stock, the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum also confirmed that the meeting deliberated on the reconciliation of members who felt aggrieved after the party’s major primaries. koice: Watched the movie yesterday. Don't believe the hype, y'all. The Movie is too tame, even more so than "Unfaithful". I don't see why it's rated R to be frank. No real sex scenes, and dry as a typical harmattan evening.. When I finished seeing the movie, I said to myself, "so there are movies Unfaithful is better than at this point in time" Honestly, I saw the movie with an open mind but was left disappointed at the end. The movie failed to explain a lot of things. The plot would have been better narrated had it been the Greys appeared more than oce or twice in the movie. |

i think the book said he's in his 20s, he seems a bit advanced in such things given his age. Yes, the book did say he's 27 and so is the movie. The movie failed to tell where he learnt them from save from the fact that he wasn't a real son of the Grey family, rather he was adopted at a young age. You honestly need to see his 'play room'. I could not help but marvel when it was shown. Extremely sensitive people may not like that scene. The movie is totally tame and not worth the hype. |

So I got to see the movie amidst the hype and the fanfare. Saying it’s worth it or not depends on my viewpoint, ideologies on love, sex, and morality. So, below is my little review of the movie:
Fifty Shades of Grey is a fascinating melodrama. Emotional people would find the movie priceless but certain dialogues in the movie would make them want to forget the movie in a hurry. I’ll explain this later.
The movie revolves around Anastacia, a young undergrad who meets Christian Grey, a young billionaire of the Grey Empire. Christian, as he is fondly known all through the movie is a clean, hot and intimidating figure whose understanding of a relationship is lost. Both characters are the main characters in the movie and appeared on almost every scene in the movie. Christian, though single, understands his affluence is intimidating and uses it to his advantage by making little Miss Steele (Anastacia) fall hopelessly in love with him. Aware of this, he severed all ties with “Anna” claiming he doesn’t “do love” but "f**ks real hard".
Overall, the movie projects from a boring, though dialogue-filled plot to climax (not love orgy but a literary term), the apex of the movie as Anna discovers that Christian is not only a control freak but also possesses some sexual dark sides. I have heard of sexual adventurous people but the case of Christian seems out of this world. While circumstances bring them together after a very short period apart, Christian forces the naïve Anna into signing a confidentiality agreement (whatever is done stays between them).
I tried seeing why the movie was banned but I found none, the scenes are not really explicit and the character of Christian is subdued by the act of Anastacia who transcends from a naive young to a fantasy-driven young lady who is ever ready to please his dominant macho-bed god.
If you are going into Fifty Shades of Grey expecting a smörgasbord of steamy BDSM s*x scenes that send you over the moon with images of orgasmic euphoria wrapped in the finest natural-fiber constraints, you best be lowering your expectations. While not entirely stripped of eroticism, the couplings in the film are pretty tame (you’re likely to find much more kink in any given episode of Scandal, truth be told), and the camera tends to pan away like a courteous Viewer before most of 'actions' are achieved. So what are we left with? Just the usual wish-fulfillment fairy tale of a naive girl and her Prince Charming that's been told a million times before.

bsjay, your angle of thought is new and to think that you mentioned that the creation of Adam and Eve is not in the real sense. You're obviously paranoid about the account of creation. The Bible vividly described the four rivers; Pishon, Gihon, the Hiddekel, and the Euphrates are present in the world today. I enjoy Bible sessions with anyone who is willing to study and understand simple assertions. Please, read Genesis 1-3 and John 1-1 (with any advanced Bible commentary/guide) and you'll see the truths. I was surprised you started with the "My people perish" quote but could not answer the OP's question. How would you explain to a lay man if asked in person? I have learnt overtime that the best way to destroy what you're saying is when you try to teach your teachers. Please don't get me wrong, I anticipated a more powerful viewpoint but what you submitted is far from it. There's a difference between Cain and his father and your epistle did not do justice to the subject matter. Simplicity and high spiritual alertness are required in understand the Scriptures. The Word of God is not Biology, Philosophy and Science. God's word is God's word and is made light to the heart of those who desire it. II Tim 2:15 Shalom! |
