Chigold101:Yup! The Canadians have also indicted him. They are also looking for him. |
Decolonel:No, he is not. They can't just dig records because those lowlife politicians don't launder through LC's in the United States. If it isn't Panama, it must be one tiny Caribbean island with no remote ties to the United States. Onyema's laundering was through a ghost company in the United States, which is why the Americans are on this. It took place in their soil. I'd be one of those to come out and call Onyema a criminal the day he is jailed. It doesn't mean I don't value his good deeds but they should separated. His NGOs seems like a front for laundering. Use your head and be rational instead of being emotional. This is criminal case and not a church disciplinary committee. |
Dulles25:That's because he wasn't indicted by a Nigerian agency let alone by our courts. Ibori was extradited after the UK system indicted him and his girlfriend. Foreigners come on this forum. If anything, we should at least pretend to know something before we write. |
Decolonel:I so hate the way the average Nigerian is programmed to think. What Onyema did in South Africa is noble and rare but then, this is an indictment, from an investigation from 2010. Whom do you think is trying to take him down? If he feels that way, why can't him show up in a Federal U.S. court with his lawyers; win the case, prove his innocence and sue the DOJ for defamation and libel? Onyema is innocent for now but he won't be vindicated from anything if the accusations leveled against him are true. He won't escape it because the system over there works and isn't based on sentiments. |
tommykiwi:Locus standi... |
Onyema is innocent until proven otherwise but this desperate move is an indication that the man has something up his sleeves. I am disgusted that the average Nigerian man, in the face of the law would try to subvert justice and wriggle his way through. He'll be extradited, tried and jailed if found guilty. Simple. |
Thisis2raw:GEJ turned around and even worked against his own party to install the party that ousted him and you are still hanging on to 2015... May they not use your head to break coconuts. |
ursullalinda:He was the CBN governor a while. Let us remember that. |
MrGidifeed:That's Jonathan and not Buhari. You somehow misconstrued what you were told. |
Atouke:Which Ibibios are the fourth largest? It is one thing being a government stooge and another trying to cook up stats. Biko, don't go there. |
Codes151:PEP is easily accessible. |
Expect Ghana to lock another 5,000 shops tomorrow and cry more than the bereaved ![]() |
Dreambeat:Sorry, I hope it's the same Real Madrid vs PSG match (without Ronaldo) you're watching? ![]() |
AuwalYusuf812:I checked your DP and I'm not in any way disappointed. Peace on you! ![]() |
Isn't VAR just beautiful! ![]() |
This stupid goalkeeper again! ![]() |
Goalnaldo:Same here... The craziest part is, I'm indifferent about us coming out first or second in the group. ![]() |
izombie:Toni Kroos is incredible. Like my jaw drops everytime the dude is in his element. |
Navas is PSG's saving grace tonight! ![]() |
Goalnaldo:Almost like total control... PSG is just getting to see a bit of the ball. |
AuwalYusuf812:Mbappe is the deciding factor in all of PSG's games, not Neymar. If Mbappe and Di Maria fail to find their rhythm in any of PSG's game, 15 Neymars on the pitch wouldn't save them. |
The way Madrid is playing tonight ehn... Butterflies in my stomach! ![]() |
led:Which Valverde against Kroos? ![]() |
mightyjoe746:Call it prejudice. Tottenham will grace the front page now more than ever, just because of its new manager. |
HRHQueenPhil:You're a very terrible human being! ![]() |
CSTR2:Why won't he? Because he has to hide under the canopy of his company? On the contrary, he has a lot to gain if he does. His indictment revived a long lost article on his source of wealth which isn't too surprising. More dirt and similar revelation will spring up if the issue is not nipped quickly. Should it happen, the Nigerian government has every right to seize his properties and claim they are proceeds of the government that was diverted to his personal pocket. It is the federal government that would go behind the scenes to get him to step down knowing what is at stake, while protecting air peace.I honestly don't understand how some of you think. There are over 15 airline companies in Nigeria of which all are commercial and only maybe one or two are meant for private commercial charters. To the government, Air Peace is just a private business that makes money in Nigeria and pay taxes. If you think the government will take sides or meddle in an indictment case, then you're on a long thing. God forbid, the absence of Air Peace would mean opportunities for other airlines to take advantage of. Onyema is for onyema alone. Stepping down does not help him.In saner climes, when a CEO or Chairman of a company has an issue bothering on morality and the law such as tax fraud, rape allegations, money laundering or whatever it is, he or she resigns to protect the brand. That doesn't hamper his shares in any way. He has stakes just as other members of the board. Air peace is for Nigeria. It is in Nigeria's interest that air peace is protected and it is the federal government that should ensure that.AIR PEACE IS A PRIVATE BUSINESS! Whatever Air Peace and his administrator does to warrant the wrath of the United States is not Nigeria's business!! His earnings and profits do not go into the TSA, why then is Air Peace for Nigeria? WE DO NOT HAVE A NATIONAL CARRIER AND LAST I CHECKED, AIR PEACE IS NOT ONE! Whatever Onyema got involved with is Onyema's problem and not the Federal government of Nigeria's. |
SarkinYarki:No, I don't. But coming up to explain why the contract was canceled and their reasons speak volume. |
CSTR2:You are attaching emotions and sentiments to this. Onyema is indicted and the proper thing for him to do is to separate his name from the brand by first stepping down. This is similar to what Fatoyinbo did against the Dakolos. COZA wasn't accused, Fatoyinbo was; Air Peace wasn't indicted, Onyema is. You don't expect the Federal government to sit him down and ask him to resign. He is a businessman and he should know the more he hangs on to the position during this period, the messier and harder things will become for the airline. The emboldened is hilarious. Onyema is indicted for laundering, which ideally should be a crime punishable by law in Nigeria. It is not a case of a child messing up outside and being corrected at home. The law doesn't work like that. I quite understand that the 'Air Peace' handle about the 'recently purchased' aircraft is no doubt Onyema's scheming. He should be wise and do the needful. Note: I prefer flying with Air Peace compared to other carriers in Nigeria and greatly admire Onyema but the fact that he keeps hanging on and making series of releases through his lawyers and the company is highly suspicious. He is a lawyer himself and the proper thing to do is to defend himself if he is certain he hasn't done what he is accused of but then, this is the DOJ. They know their onions and wouldn't have come out if they didn't find dirt on him. |
SarkinYarki:Read and be objective! The government canceled the contract because it felt it could recover the money on its own since it only involves 'writing' letters, and not what you purported. |
The way Ohaneze begs for the presidency is alarming. Other soci-cultural groups don't beg this way, which leaves me wondering. Unfortunately, if you aren't willing to fight for power, don't bother coming out, claiming it should be given you. Power is not food and if you don't know how to get it, then you just might spent your years in servitude. Sadly, the PDP is almost looking the way of Atiku come 2023, which is somewhat insulting. If anything, the SE has been loyal to the PDP from the start but then an all Southern election is almost impossible as some corners of the SE are saying they'd prefer tk queue behind another Northerner rather than against the SW in a head-to-head. |
tfash96:Is this supposed to be a question? Why don't you go ahead and check? |
mystical109:Mumu talk. Messi plies club trade in a farmer's league he has refused to leave to prove himself over time. Argentina is star-studded compared to Portugal, yet Ronaldo has not only made his mark, he has stood out against major European sides such as France and Spain at the Euro/World Cup level. Prior to Ronaldo joining the La Liga, he played in England and smashed every opponent his way. He met Messi in the La Liga but was the first player ever to score against every La Liga team in a season. Messi would go on to match the record some two seasons later. With a team like Argentina, Spain ought to be the only team to stop them but your man crush couldn't even score a penalty in the Copa final against Chile to win the Copa for Argentina. Advise Messi to prove his worth by leaving Barcelona first and see if he'd score 30 goals in a season, then come back and let's talk about if he was in Europe. You seriously have to do better than 'if Messi was in Europe'. |
