To be honest, I doubt the guys in management now have clear ideas and vision to restore the situations. Also the reason for relocation is different ( I would like to believe) from the past. It’s a shame for a doctor from the UK to relocate to Australia and Canada for reasons like pay and stress. What happens when the doctors from developing countries return to their own country or decide to move to the Australia and Canada, since it’s got better pay and cost of living?

Don’t think we are having this conversation because we hate the country, trust me that’s not the situation. It’s just that what our uncles who came in the 80’s/90’s told us is different from what we are experiencing

For those who are asking, my international passport was delivered today. I completed biometrics on November 3, 2022, in London. The anticipated delivery date was January 4, 2023, according to the date on the acknowledgement copy that was captioned on phone. Give or take any glitch, that means the arrival date will be around one week later.

I went for renewal of my Nigeria passport December 15th last year at the Nigeria embassy in London and my passport isn't ready.I have tried calling their number but it's not going through.Also tried tracking it on royal mail and it's showing passport not registered.
Please I'm really tired of the wait as I need to use it immediately. I'll be grateful if anyone can suggest how to go about it.

My advice to anyone looking for a full-time job, I understand that it’s not easy, but always negotiate and never accept their first offer, even if they advertised the figures.

As a matter of fact, during the recruitment stage, if they ask you what your expectations are for pay, ask them what their budget is. If they say they can’t reveal their budget, mention a salary range. Do your research on the company’s average salary for that role on Glassdoor, add extra digits to it (depending on your risk appetite, me na armed robber figures I dey add just to force them to reveal the real salary and it has never failed me, I will now use style to add, [/i] "I’m open to negotiate depending on the benefits" [i] ;this usually makes them hint at their own budget range for the role), and be very confident when you mention your expected salary range as confidence is really key!

Finally, never tell them your current salary. It’s not their business. Epistle over!

I recently got a Hisense smart tv hoping to watch the world cup with it.

There are lots of apps on the VIDAA store to watch movies and other live tv but none is showing live matches. There's even no app with a subscription option to watch live sports.

I have read about IPTV here. Please who can put me through on how to go about it please �

Most companies would rather go for someone without that extra sponsorship baggage. Trust me, if you’ve gone through all the stages and they actually like you, then you can negotiate that as a part of the deal because some of these companies would rather not go through the whole hiring process again especially if they actually offer sponsorship and they really need someone to fill out that role OR show the value you bring and post probation, request for sponsorship. Some get lucky with a few companies who are open about offering sponsorship right away. But a lot of companies do not outrightly offer, so you’ll end up losing a lot of good opportunities if you are too eager to mention that you are on a student visa or that you need sponsorship.

This depends on where their uni and work is based though. Living further out to save on rent can easily become a false economy if it causes their commuting costs to increase significantly, and they could end up with an equivalent or higher overall financial expenditure

Thank you for your response. It appears to live comfortably in London in at least a 2bedroom in East London or Kent will require monthly income of between 4000-5000k after tax. More realistic when both husband and wife are working full time.

So a colleague of mine on tier 2 visa traveled to naija and back using KLM. Had a stop over at Amsterdam on both journeys, didn’t have a transit visa.

I know after brexit, only British citizens could fly KLM or Air France or any of these European airlines without a transit visa. I stand to be corrected.

I dunno about any other airline, but she flew KLM to naija and back to the UK and she’s on Tier 2 visa.

Someone I know said he went to the UK once and out of like 10 Nigerians, not up to 2 were doing something they could say with their full chest. The problem is, when you point this out, they start fighting themselves (not me). They think it is an attack on them, rather than an attack on the British system.



This is not going to happen and they know it.

Please, my tier 2 application is still stuck at the home office. It is about 10 weeks now. Do any have an email or number to call to find out what is the going? I did the application here in the UK.
All the numbers and email, have not been able to connect me with the right department.
