I recall sometime ago(i think last year ), someone did sort of review on property developers for new build family homes properties , I think in that barratt and taylor wimpey came at the bottom in terms of quality and low price, I am trying to find out ones on the other side of the spectrum. I wonder if anyone has a general overview of developers, best ones to go for. |
kwakudtraveller:Almost everybody I know are doing 2/3 contracts simultaneously. I guess it easier as they only accept fully remote roles. Shine your eyes my brother ![]() |
bigtt76: ![]() |
Solumtoya:I would readily pay subscription for the thread |
Viruses:Me I intend to just go automatic, dont see myself buying a manual car, plus I understand that automatic are relatively easier to pass. |
Pearlyfaze:@Pearlyfaze Me too I have a kwesion abeg , how did you get around booking practical test? been trying to get a date all week..No show |
Chreze:If you reminisce well you will realize that the uncle's had similar complains back then. |
nineville:@nineville Thanks for this, I just realize that I didnt look at that acknowledgement slip very well to notice that there is anticipated delivery date. For all those renewing their passport and Nigeria House, You will be asked to take a picture of the final acknowledgement copy with your phone. It has the date proposed date you passport will be dispatched. At least that will allay your worries a little bit. |
Silentthinker:@silentthinker Use this https://track.immigration.gov.ng/ Input your application No. , reference No. and voila! |
Phil46:@Phil46 Asides courses you might be better served doing real life projects. What I mean by this is you can pick up a project and run it as though you are the BA involved in that project after your course. Take for instance digital transformation, you can look up a fictitious organisation that wants transform their operations from a legacy system to a digital one. Lets assume Aiico insurance(this me just randomly picking a random company) wants to do this. What would you do as a BA. It might involve scoping out the requirements, engaging with stakeholders to understand their currrent process(how does the current claims process works, what is the current process of onboarding a customer etc), collaborating with these stakeholders to take gather user requirements and translating that to what the process would be in a digital world. How do you represent these processes, how do you engage the stakeholders to gather requirements(workshops, brain storming sessions etc). As a Data Analyst what kind of insights can you give that will be lead to profitability for a company or improved processes, there a loads of projects on kaggle that one get dirty with but am all for doing projects that you can relate to. Take for instance Zenith bank might want to to know how their account holders interact with their channels (Atm(cash machines), mobile banking, online banking, Bank branches). As a data analyst if you are able to generate a report in the ages of the different account holders, the number of times they transacted with the different channels, try and see if there is a pattern, is it increasing or decreasing, what might be possible reasons for this trend. How do I present this report to my manager, do I use excel? power bi? looker? These roles involve a lot more than these highlighted above and this is just me putting it loosely. But the point is after going through a course, pick up a project and work on it, it would lead you to ask more questions and gain better understanding of the role as well as excel at interviews. Slowly and surely, you will get there |
Tawak:@Tawak..Same scenario for me. Did mine 18th of November 2022 not gotten mine yet. Thank God for the link from bigtt76, At least I was able to see that its been produced so I should be expecting it soon. |
Amarathripple0:@Amarathripple please when are we opening our career advisory agency. Me I have already volunteered for the role of Treasurer . I go dey manage finances but no body go ask me any question about how expenses dey go lol. On a serious note, well-done for always dropping nuggets. More grease to your elbows. |
Amarathripple0:Date it was approved |
lavida001:Baba spill the tea, ;let people hear the other side of the story. First I must apologies if you are not the person in the story, I am sorry as I would be addressing you as though you are the one (since poster said the person involved is on nairaland,I belive he would read this). Regardsless of what the story is though you are one ungrateful person. Let me give you some perspective. If People house you for over a month and feed you, giveup their bedroom, inconvinence themselves all in one room and you still looking for an accommodation that meets your standards then you are one very ungrateful and selfish person that only thinks about himself like someone earlier suggested. You should pay for airbnb so you know how valuable having accomodation is in this rishi sunak's UK. Your host has a very large heart, infact too large a heart, person wey dey fight him wife because of you, you dey open mouth dey talk like say na your entitlment. Na narcissist you be. My brother wey na only me am my mama born, I tell am point blank say him no go fit stay with me when he land for him studies. My guy if I were you when I move out, I would buy a thank you gift for my host because they have been more than magnanimous. But then again a narcissist wouldnt, he would claim victim till the very end. |
Tawak:@Tawak No yet ooh..Still waiting |
Toshtos:Argos, currys, ebay, amazon |
mintyx:@mintyx Get an amazon fire stick (currys is selling firestick with 6 months free apple tv subscription) then DM @lexus430 for the IPTV connect. |
Amarathripple0:Seconded..I know several people that eventually got sponsored after working for a bit and showing value. You can choose what strategy works for you but I prefer the later as it has been proven to work over and over again(except its NHS). Also you can get a very good job that doesnt sponsor, work for a bit and pivot to one that does. It gets easier changing jobs after your first 'professional' role. |
adedapodvirus001:Look for another location with closer date..might be another city and you might have to travel. unfortunately the priority only starts to kickin after you have captured |
If you are going to the Nigerian High Commision for passport renewal and you booked an appointment, I have one piece of advice for you. Ignore your appointment time and get there as soon as possible. Apparently, your appointment time does not matter (they just need to know you booked), You are given a tally number when you get there, that determines when you are attended to. Hence the earlier you get there, the earlier you leave. Also be prepared to stand for a while. I can't imagine what people with little kids would have gone through if an adult like was that stressed. Also be prepared to spend the whole day. Hopefully you all have better experience that I did last week. Nigeria, we hail thee.. |
wanney:Also need this info..asides the regular curry and argos, are there more sites( or in-stores) to get black friday sales for appliances |
Solumtoya:Seconded, I use moneybox and its pretty smooth. |
Zahra29:True..lots of components go into the mix |
bankylan:Not exactly, it depends on your lifestyle, Since you mentioned kent, you might be able to get a 2 bedroom between 800 -1,200 month, there are lots of new build apartment with great epc rating around strood, rochester, chatham areas going for between 1000 - 1300 and they are about 35 mins train ride to central london. Also there are lots of good grammar schools there. Based off the food estimation mimilyrics posted earlier, you should be able to live decently with that income (your major determinant would be where you rent). |
DeeOneBangin:yeah |
DeeOneBangin:when I was on student visa I flew KLM to naija and back without transit visa..called the airline several times to confirm before I bought the though |
pocohantas:@pocohantas @treadway like someone said earlier for every 10 people that land abroad are doing doing care/warehouse, there is an equal 10 that are doing good jobs and jobs in fields they enjoy. The first thing I tell anybody coming it have a strategy and be possibly ready to skillup if need be. A lot of the people I know are doing jobs earning over 50k(as dependant of students) these people came in with resolve to get jobs in their field, did the work to rebrand their Nigerian experience to similar fields obtainable in the uk and most importantly they aligned themselves with people in the UK with similar belief system as they possess. They were told they cant get such jobs except they do care/warehouse first, they stood their ground. Some of them did remote customer support roles before transitioning but the longest anyone of them stayed before getting a job was 3 months. Inbetween this time they were interviewing and skilling up. Revamping their cv's and practising interview questions. What many do not realize is that getting a job is a fulltime job in itself and you have to approach it with a strategy. Some of them have gotten sponsorship on their jobs. In the same UK where some people are stuck doing care. What i usually say to anyone is, look at what works for you. Research it, and if you want to relocate make sure you have a plan and a strategy and PUT IN THE WORK. I know a lot of Nigerians work in banks so I would use that as an example. If you work in bank as a banking officer, you can use your knowledge of the banks processes to bag a job as business analyst, tie your bank experience to times showing how you had to gather requirements, work with stakeholders etc. If you worked in marketing, you can segue into product marketing, or skillup and add digital marketing as one of your skillset and apply for such roles. There are lot and lots of free resource on youtube(I call it free university). The truth is many nigerians relocate and get good jobs but alot of them dont talk about it(maybe for the fear of getting billed, who knows) but as with everything in life there will be people wont make it. heck same is obtainable in Nigeria. One thing I know is that there a load and load of opportunities here. You can literally be having two interview every single day with different firms (get your cv right), after the several unfortunately responses you will definitely get that congratulatory message. |

You just state you current accomodation, a lot of people used school as accomodation but ended up making alternative arrangement. So no worries |
worldazzling:You can write Pearson PTE test and get result in 48 hrs(usually 24hours) instead of IELTS that takes longer time or you might want to evaluate your bachelors degree with Naric(ecctis). |
MimiBen:@MimiBen Asides indeed, cvlibrary and the likes, you can target companies that offer remote customer support roles like webhelp, anywhereworks.com, NHS professionals, recruitco (formally cordant), HGS uk (they do lots of NHS campaigns). Even some banks (HSBC, Lloyds, santander etc) offer remote customer support roles. |
aragbaboy:The timelines right now are something else.. I would advise anyone that need quick turn around to use priority. Its £500 but usually decision is given around 24 - 72 hours. |
Amarathripple0:Recent timelines now are over a month though, know someone that applied 3rd week in september and yet to receive, and some others 2 weeks ago same thing. so fingers crossed. |

, how did you get around booking practical test? been trying to get a date all week..No show
