Marriage is no longer a man lording over his wife, treating her as his property and slave. Mutual respect and compromise is the order of the day. It's best you let those old ideas go, before you end up like Lanre Gentry.
I think they misunderstand the concept. Lording over someone is caring for someone not hurting them.. no one is animal you know.. they fail to consider the feelings of the other person and thats why marriages fail.

PaperLace:
Like I said on that thread, that's what happens to you when you marry a wife that doesn't love and respect you.

When I see men ranting on how they can never marry a woman who earns more _because she won't respect then, I just know they are yet to experience true respect. Sadly, that's the mentality of the average man, using money to earn respect and love. Nigerians know nothing about true respect and love.

A woman who truly loves and respect you won't insult you because she is richer. Don't be deceived into thinking it's normal with very single woman. Some Nigerian men are only respected (pseudo-respect) by their wives and kids because of that provisional role. That's why once they lose it, the respect goes down the drain and they start blaming it on women. It's not women, you were never respected. You can't lose what you never had.

My husband's colleague was asked to resign and she started crying, you would think someone died. She was the breadwinner of her home, no one knew till that day. There are so many women like that, they love and respect their husbands _ in riches or not.

You guys will never learn. You keep using finance to lord over your wives. Some act like pharaoh when they are sole earners, that's another reason their wives deal with them once power changes hands. Women can be very patient in waiting for the perfect time to revenge. The men won't tell you how they handled power when it was in their hands, they rather play victim.

The remaining men are just unlucky to marry wives that can't withstand tough times : sometimes they are not aware _other times they are aware, but like you, they think they will forever be RICHER and the woman will forever remain in money induced servitude.

There are very rude poor women, anyone can be disrespectful _ riches is most times just a reason to exhibit those nasty traits without remorse. The rich men are not left out.
I believe you. I for one have no desire to boss anyone or control.. but I don't want someone to boss me too.. If he does, I'd wanna get back. But he won't, power means nothing to him too and for that am grateful smiley

Dear sarang, a VO's primary concern is with the applicant. His engagement in his home country and what may bring him back. He has to establish himself to the visa officer with documents. For canada and the US, its mostly not the money. You live in canada so you and I know that someone can live in canada for years without notice especially if he has someone there. Its a vastly underpopulated country and the VO knows. His ties seem okay to me but i cant say for the VO. He's trying to establish himself which is a good thing and he has responsibilities. With the right documents he should get it right but a VO might also wander why you're not visiting instead as this seems much more convenient for him. Assess the situation together and get the right answers to the VOs concerns and you're good.
About the money, this will largely depend on how long he's staying and what provinve you reside. With accommodation sorted, maybe consider 50CAD daily set aside for his visit and show an active account and make sure to give him evidence of your accommodation payments for maybe past three months. You cant have too much documents. Best of luck. My opinion always
My family won't let me visit and I have proof and I am yet to finish school.. Is this not enough reason Uncle Jawa. Please tell me if there is anything you feel I should know cos am applying for it soon. Also I live in a house that I share with a Chinese family and I don't get receipts for my rent payments, is it not okay to show them my lease doc? Thank u

You getting it wrong still... it not bout the money both as a Christian and even more in CE, it's never bout the money. It's bout what you have! But the. What else can you really give if not money!! Better still, this message that is been preached, how can it get out there without money. I know someone who didn't have cash but gave his land but here is the fact, the land is not what is needed and it's converted to money for the furtherance of the gospel.

My point here is this, it's about what you believe, while some like me believe that we are giving that the spreading of the message would prevailed and cover the earths as the water covers the earth and people are told the message of reconciliation and be saved. We do not give to men but unto God.
Some others believe they give unto men who are just squandering the money to live a lavish lifestyle. And if that were to be the case, that's for God to judge. It's not like when we pass on to the life beyond, that money goes with us. Everyone will account for his deeds during judgement.
What you don't understand is that, when you give to God and his cause, you will in return be blessed and multiplied but when you give to men, you probably be disappointed at the end of the day and be lamenting like you doing now and this isn't Christ Embassy only but to other churches and the body of Christ in general, also in life...Do your giving heartfully and bountifully according to the measure God has blessed you with and can do because It's only God that rewards such blessings.

As for sinning no more, what if you now sin again nko? Would you think God or Jesus would have said, woman I have forgiven you before, I can't do it again so you must be punish? Bible says the steadfast love of the Lord never cease and his mercy endures forever! God doesn't think like men!! Bible says his eyes is moving to and fro the earth looking for whom to show his goodness. I don't know about you but I believe sin isn't an act but a nature. So unlike how some of you carry sin, I don't and that's why salvation is a very personal thing. If it's their believe in Christ Embassy, then they understand what I understand too, more so happy are they that understand and that's why we support the gospel so hard so people can understand too the gift of righteousness cos no man can proclaim he is righteous except he has Christ in him.

You are in chains. Very strong chains. You preach "the good news of the gospel of our Lord Jesus". Since you do not know that "good news" is same meaning with "gospel", how then will you know that it is the good news of God's kingdom and that the key word there is " God's kingdom".

My sister. God's kingdom is for those that really want to obey what the bible really teaches. Not for those that worship money and glamour.

Op, it's quite unfortunate that your story turned out this way. Am not a lawyer for CE(Christ Embassy) but all what you just didn't mean anything...

Why is giving a problem to you? Didn't you read in your bible that wealth is a defence! Or that he that sow bountifully shall reap bountifully and he that sow sparingly shall reap sparingly.

Look, it might not go well with you because your faith didn't work for you but many others who gave based on their faith and getting results and you upset. Even if it was one Naira you could regularly and you did it with strong faith, Baba! You get results. And yes, it all boils down to money because that's what you can give for the furtherance of the gospel. So your excuse that it's all about giving and giving money is your issue o.

Bible says it's better to give than to receive because the blessings goes to the giver and Psalms 126 from verse 5 says they that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6 even says that he that goes forth , weeping bearing precious seed shall doubtless come again with rejoicing bring his sheaves...

So if you don't believe in this, then don't go about spreading what you don't understand . You don't believe in the Word of God in the first place. Besides, you are more concerned about the man or people instead of focusing on God or his Word.

About Pastor. Chris being a standard, you can Evans or Asiwaju a standard for all it's worth but common, leave those who sees Pastor Chris as a leader alone. They see the nature and will of Christ in him and man him their standard. Way better than those who do not even have the fear of God as their mentor.

It's written, in 1 John 4:17, ... that as he is, so are we in this world. If Pastor Chris wants to be like. Christ in this world, what's wrong with wanting to be like Pastor Chris!!!

That there is nothing like sin in CE is complete ignorance .... I will leave that to the Holy Spirit to minister to you because only Him can sink it into your head that Christ is not interested in sinners dying in their sin but that they should repent and bask in the grace that God made available in Christ. And that's why Christ died many years ago that we might live whether we acknowledged it or not. If you believe and confess with your mouth, you are saved and connected to that grace. If you don't, it doesn't mean the grace doesn't exist and Jesus isn't going to come again to die again for your ignorance. CE preach against sin and encourage Holiness but we also believe that righteousness is different from right living........
Must everything be all about money?!
If you are saved, like he said to the woman then you should go and sin no more. Leave that thing jor

We dont preach sin in CE cuz thats not what God asked us to preach. We rather preach the goodnews of the gospel of our Lord Jesus and thats the gudnews that brings sinners to God.

For money matter, its only a poor man that speaks d way u do. We give big, very very big in CE and thats becuz we serve a big God so deal with ur poverty.

Hi
Sorry it doesn't work like that. I'm sure this amount of money will be stated on your conditional acceptance letter from your school, it is used to hold your seat. it also usually has a dead line. If you dont meet this requirement, you loose your admission. Also if your school issues you a Conditional admission letter, the embassy expects you to satisfy this condition(s). Like in your case you may want to attach a receipt issued to you from the school showing you have paid your acceptance fee. Dont be scared to commit. Even your TRV app is a commitment as we are never sure of the outcome. Stay positive. Wish you the best!
