Frankrobbn1: Yup! The medical fee was the reason for the regret. A medical exam is valid for a year and for sure you can use it in your subsequent applications within this period of time. Okay. Thanks a lot for the clarifications |

Frankrobbn1: The associated risk and regret is getting a REFUSAL after undergoing the medical exam. That's like regretting the amount wasted on the medicals, right? .But isn't the medical valid for a few months or is it a year? If it is, can't an applicant reapply with it? |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by sashaa(f): 12:13pm On Aug 09, 2019 |
Frankrobbn1: The truth of the matter is that it worked for some people and at same time didn't work for majority of persons here. Going for an upfront medicals during an active application process is totally a big risk! Most especially when IRCC hasn't officially requested for it. It's more preferable and reasonable to wait for a medical call/request, with this you're sure with your fingers crossed of securing the visa or better still include an E-medical slip prior to the submission of your application.
In a nutshell, applicants should follow their guts and instincts as it leads them. Who knows you might be lucky! Different strokes for different folks! Everyone should be 100% responsible for their application! Frank, can you explain the risk in it? |

Regina3: Hi guys, been a silent reader here following all your advice, been a big source of encouragement & reference for me. I got my approval yesterday.
First Application. Applied online : June 22, 2019 Biometrics: June 26, 2019 Medical: July 17, 2019 Passed: July 20, 2019 Approval/Correspondence :August 1, 2019
Just want to say, I was really worried as all the documents I submitted for proof of financial ability were much and after managing to compress to 3.9MB, the documents didn't look to sharp, I thought that it would be an issue but I thank God, for favour. I will suggest if you are having same challenges as I did, you can use CamScanner on Android play store, I found out about it after submitting mine with poor resolutions. Thanks. Wow...congrats sis! |

OB411: I applied July 2 and application is currently on eligibility review and background check, from the way response has been so damn slow from CIC I am considering deferring till next academic calender, cos my school has prompted me to pay up tuition balance.
Dont know if it advisable to go that route though. School is suppose to resume sep 3rd. Better to defer. July has already ended and time is now too short for fall hopefuls whose applications are still in progress |

kcosam: You are one very lucky person to have gotten 2yrs study visa for a 1yr program, however, have you entered Canada already? If not, then there is a possibility that at POE you may be issued with the study permit that will be valid only for your study period (1year), but no cause for alarm if that is the case at the POE, you can always extend your study permit within Canada if you enroll into another 1yr program immediately after the 1st program (which will be easier if it is the same school) and that way you will be eligible for 3yrs PGWP. Congratulations on your Visa approval. I've always wondered how this works. I know going for a 2year program is the best but it also means double tuition If someone has tuition for a 1year program? Is it possibleto save up for another year tuition from the 20hours per week job? Anyone that has been successful in this may also throw more light so we can learn |

mcobex: Both are okay, but study should be better because it gives you the "very important Canadian work experience". Going for EE is a good option as well, especially if you have the experience that will make you slide into the Canadian system with ease. So it is a win win for you(whichever you pick) Can you please explain more @the bolded? I thought it's work experience that gives one experience? |

ifeyemi200: Hello all,
I must commend you all for all the info on this thread. Thank you for helping one another. Please, I am new on this thread, and I want to ask a question on behalf of a friend. The person had applied about two weeks ago via an agent for study visa, he is so worried that he hasn't been called for biometrics. Abeg, what is the timeline for biometrics after submitting a complete application? His school resumes in September. If it's his first application then it's possible the agent has not submitted his application. From the information on this thread, most people are asked to do biometrics after 24-48hours of submission. That's for online application. While for paper application, biometrics is done same day. Please let him ask the agent for proof of application submission. |
