My BS!
Hmm, when I say this child is a testimony, believe me..
This is my third baby, I have a boy and girl 7yrs & 6yrs respectively and the gap between them and this child is neither accidental nor planned! Life happened.
I started planning for 3rd missionary journey when my daughter was less than 2 years old, it took 4 good years complete (Dec, 2017 till Dec, 2021) to find out I was pregnant. If you check my earliest post on this moniker, it was my testimony on TTC thread.
This child was conceived when I had almost given up and decided to face other things and a lot of things just fell in place at the same time.
First trimester was war, I was sick everyday, spitting couldn't eat anything but peppersoup (with uda o, if I don't add uda it won't taste well, so I added in moderation) and Nescafé 3 in 1coffee.
Second trimester was so much better but unfortunately my spitting did not stop but at least I slayed small and libido was a bit high, chai!
Third trimester, tiredness, heaviness everything but I still tried to look good and had small libido until around 35weeks when if I see d..k sef I feel like slapping oga.
From 36 weeks, it became a battle just to stand up, I hated being pregnant at this point o (God forgive me), I appreciated the gift, but everything about being pregnant was just not going well with me again from that time.
My midwife checked me at my 38 +4 appt, after asking some questions, I told her my baby was a bit slow as his movements had reduced a bit, hmm oyibo no dey take chances o, in no time I was at maternity assessment unit, next thing doc said you will be induced.
Go to Delivery suite tomorrow 9am.
9am tuesday I was there.
Pessary was started around 11am, nothing happened. 2nd pessary inserted by 5pm and by 11pm it had worked small so they broke my water and I started contracting.
I had already signed birth plan, and pain relief before this time and I requested for epidural, because the pain I felt in the other two pregnancies scarred me for life. They said the anesthesiologist was in theater and gave me gas to start with.
The gas wasn't helping, soon the epidural guy came, set up the stuff, put their needles etc in my back and told me after 30mins i won't feel anymore pain! E no work!
Me and hubby were discouraged, labour wasn't progressing and they wanted to give me syntocin drip. I told hubby I won't take that drip without epidural, I can't go through that pain of that level of induction again.
As God will have it, that anaesthesiologist went home and another one came, this time a young lady, immediately I saw her my spirit calmed down, I was willing to try again and this time it worked.
You need to see me cruising hot drip without an ounce of pain, I was seeing contractions on the monitor but no pain, I even slept off till I was 9cm dilated.
9cm dilated, baby was still high up, not coming down not getting to 10cm.
They said they will try for me to push, baby refused to come down and his heart rate was going down with every contraction but coming back up again after the contraction, everything was clear on the monitor and they were worried why it was happening.
Doc came and gave us 2 options.
1, assisted delivery with forceps and/ or suction cups
2, CS
We gave consent for CS cos even the forceps delivery many times damage babies shoulder and still ends in CS. Turns out cord was wrapped twice around his neck, that's why he couldn't descend and using forceps to pull him out would have been disastrous but Mercy said No!
My baby was brought out crying loud like town crier weighing 3.41kg, healthy with plenty hair. 17th August, my favourite niece's birthday mate too

My BP was 108/66. I don't know how okay that is. I also noticed my weight increased within a space of one week. Clocked 65kg last week and just yesterday I clocked 68kg. Hope I'm in order.

Yea I've packed my bag. Everything is ready. They ended with referring me for a scan. And that when I bring the scan result, they will tell me the next thing to do. I wish baby can come already. I'm tired of hearing "eat this, don't eat that, bla bla bla"

Your weight and bp no issues there, probably the increase is because you've stopped going to work daily. Frankly, I think its first-time mum fears u just having, that's all . Don't worry very soon we will hear congratulations, in Jesus name, Amen.

Good afternoon wonderful mamas in the house. I don't know which team to register with. 1st scan done at 9 weeks gave 4th of September as Edd while second and third scan gave 24th and 21st of August respectively.

Hoelujohn:
According to my wife, her last menstrual period started on the 17th on November, we got married on the 27th of November. According to her her next menstrual cycle should start on 11th of December but by 4th of November she saw something that looks like her period but she said her period is usually heavier in flow than this and this just lasted for 2 days. And that was the last flow of blood she saw.

According to her LMP, her correct due date should be August 24th.

I got married two months ago. I am 7 months pregnant my husband didn't tell me he had a child from his previous relationship and the child has a disability celebral palsy. Her mother came to dropped her off in my house saying she has done enough and she's tired it is now hubby turn to take care of her.

The child can't do anything for herself she can't sit, talk, walk and she does toilet in her clothes. I can't do it anymore I love children because I have taken care of my own nieces and nephews before I would have taken care of her if she was normal but taking care of a child in this question is hard and if her own mother has had enough she abandoned her and why would I kill myself taking care of her in my condition.

I want to divorce and go back to my village I have told him i am leaving next month. He is pleading with me not to leave him that he will take the child somewhere else but the place is not free he has to be paying like 200k monthly for them to take care of the child and he doesn't even have that amount of money because he is not financial stable.

I will stick to my decision but I want to know what will other people do in my situation.

I will tell you this, right now is not the time to divorce.
Since you are pregnant, give him space, go to your people and stay till you give birth, by then your head will be clearer to make a better decision.
Both your husband and your mother-in-law are mean to not have told you and then expect you to carry such burden.
Take a break till you give birth, then make your decision.

Good evening mamas, my wife is about 6-8weeks pregnant, she is always complaining of stomach upset and frequent headache. We went to the hospital but the doctors says its normal. But the stomach upset has been disturbing her. The doctor gave her folic acid and one drug like that( dunno the name) what do we do pls

Nothing, These are just first trimester symptoms, she'll be fine. Let her just keep taking the folic acid she's been given and if the headache gets too much she can take ordinary paracetamol.
Always try to know the name of the drug she's taking pls.

Wow, our baby is 7 weeks already, lovely.
I don't even know what current advice to give u as my kids are 7yrs & 6yrs already but don't worry, more recently experienced mama's will answer you.
But one thing i always had handy in the early days when they were babies was olbas oil, just a few drops on a flannel or face towel in baby's crib kept their airways clear and they hardly had cough, catarrh or respiratory issues, maybe it's something you can consider getting too.

Pls as dis miscarriage was jus few weeks old... N am bleeding n removing huge blood clots now... Do I need to go for an evac too like I did wen I had a miscarriage at four months... Or jus let it flow out.... Pls smone really knowledgeable shud enlighten me tanks

My dear o make August waka fast fast abeg.
As for my travel, I'm planning to take off this weekend. Of course hubby is coming to carry me. Can't risk travelling alone at 37 weeks. My office people are saying my maternity leave will start after delivery can you imagine that? Me I'm taking off abeg, I'll just travel and send them a mail that I had an emergency and was asked to observe bed rest till delivery hahaha They cannor come and stress me and my baby.
Thank you mama for asking. I'm sure by this time next month 90% of August teamies must have joined the vigilantee group as per 4th trimester. God will make it easy for all of us.

Sitting down has become a task for me now, to feel comfortable it's either i lie down or I walk. Haven't noticed nipple sensitivity o, but I heard towards the end some first trimester symptoms might begin to show up again for me bitter mouth has returned and that was my worst symptom in first trimester.
At this point eh, I just dey peep August dey smile
How r u preparing for the journey? Travelling alone or is hubby coming?

Beginning
After our wedding, my wife kept having baby fever. She was always sending me IG videos and talking about how cute a baby was, but I dey run. So finally in October(6 months after our wedding) after much discussion & prayer we agreed to start trying, thinking at least by December the baby suppose enter. Next thing, my wife started feeling a bit sick and decided to do a PT(Pregnancy Test) at home. Omo, this baby no calm down. Na that October gangan, e come. E shock me. �

Labour day
By 7 am, they start prepping my wife for surgery. 8 am they begin, 8:09 am, the child is out. Every other thing was done before 9 am. Mother & Child are alright, We thank God.

Really been praying for labor to show from 37weeks ooo if not I don’t mind being induced at all if it’s medically right by then. Would discuss this with Dr on my next appointment. I don’t want to take chances this time around at all. I also don’t want to go extra by taking castor oil and others I’ve read about so I’m just making do with ewedu, pineapple and trekking.
I have packaged, packaged and repackaged hospital bag over and over again
